How thick are these? Are they like a cardstock of 110 or thicker like cardboard? I am just wondering how thick they will be to carry them in my binder. Thinking of ordering 4 or 5.

Flip-Mats are constructed of durable laminated card stock (~70 lb paper—comparable to that of a restaurant menu). They measure 24" by 30", and quickly and conveniently fold down to 8" by 10" (slightly smaller than a sheet of notebook paper).

If these are the same as the blank flip mats I bought from Paizo at Gencon last year, they are fantastic. They clean up nicer than the soft mats, but the best thing is that they fold down to the size of a thin book and can go right in you pack with the rule books and everything. No more long, rolled up mats to deal with.

I can't wait to see this flip-mat in my local game store. The size looks very well in a table with all the materials of the players and the game master.

I just want to say I love this product! I have never been able to find such a versatile, usable, easy-to-use game aid in my 15 years of DMing. It folds up neatly so that I can fit it in a simple folder, I clip a couple dry-erase markers to it, and I'm ready to go. I was originally worried about the size, but it is more than enough for what I need. You could even buy two mats (they're cheap enough) and use them for large scale tactical battles or Warhammer 40k minis. If you are considering buying this product just buy it. I have no regrets.

Just got this item a few days ago. Unfolded and flattened it out per instructions. This has become the best accessory I've bought for my games so far. Works with every marker I've got in the house, easy to clean and small enough for anything.
I like the dual sided 1" squares.

I have to say I own a good selection of the WotC D&D Dungeon Tiles and decided on a whim to pick this up, and haven't used the tiles since. Don't get me wrong I like the tiles, but the ability to draw the exact stuff in the room and size, etc is amazing and these things are awesome. Will probably get more (the cathedral, market and daklands look really good, as does the forest one...)

I'd love to see this item with hex grids on both sides, instead of squares. While I know most people here play games that use the square grid, there are a number of games that use hexes where I find my original flip-mat indispensable (Champions, for example). It'd be nice to have a mat with two sides (therefore two pre-drawn scenes) to work with.

I bought one of these when I kicked off my RotR campaign last month or so. It erases clearly and easily. Definately one of the better mats I have used.

I use Staedtler Non-Permanent Wet erase markers with nothing but a lightly damp paper towel in case anyone was curious.

I took one of the original mats and cut it without problems. The sides are not sealed when the mat is whole. I have only every seen one mat that the laminate failed - the customer left it in a hot car and it stuck to a binder.

This may be the wrong area, but will there ever be bigger version of the flipmats? A lot of my battles take up a lot of space, and not having to worry about staining would be great if I had something that was of a comparable size to the battlemats, which are bigger than the regular mats, but not as big as the mondomats(?) if I am not mistaken made by Chessex.

I would just go and laminate some squares but I don't have enough artistic ability to draw straight lines, and keep the squares the same size.

Usually, we're very good at hitting our estimated shipping times, but in your case, we were selling through the very last copies of this particular print run when you placed your order, and it took us much longer than we anticipated to locate a copy for you. Even if it means combining smaller ones to make a bigger one that was made to fit together I would buy it. Sometimes the standard sized area is not big enough for a battle. If it is still one of things that is being thought about just tell me to be patient.
