Is there any chance of a rider less Goblin Dog coming soon? I'd hate to have a go at converting a few of these.

The dog and rider are separate pieces. There is a tiny spot on the saddle where, if you look close, you'll realize something is supposed to go, but I don't think it would bother most people.

There is also a spot on the Goblin where, if you look closely, you will realize that there is something missing.

'Cause he's goin' Commando.

Spoiler:
I apologize. I failed my will save.

This gives me a definite Midna vibe.

I still have to fiture out how exactly I'll glue them together, if at all. Anyone an idea how to make him to stay in the saddle without nailing him to it?

He fits pretty nicely on top, with a sculpted flat bottom. I just krazyglued it on, and it seems to have stayed ok thus far. I try not to pick the model up by the rider though.

You could drill both and pin them but that seems a bit more work than most wanna do.

If you did though I personally would fasten the pin to the gobbo and leave the hole in the dog so you could remove the rider and only have a hole in the dog.......Damn, I wish I thought of that before I glued mine......guess I need to rework it. Hindsight is 20/20....and sucks.

Any dates on when these really super cool minis are back in stock?? Paizo dudes and duchesses? Help?

Do you know about pinning? Not sure if that's what you meant by "nailing" or if you were being sarcastic.

If the latter, you weren't actually that far off the mark. Hey, wait! Put down that hammer! A pin vise & tiny drill bit, a length of thin wire (often paperclip or brass rod), and some super glue are commonly used to strengthen the areas where bits of multi-part minis are glued together. There are plenty of good pinning tutorials available online if you search around a bit, but this is my favorite method, hands down. I got my pin vise (including several very small drill bits) for about $7 at a local hobby store. You shouldn't have to pay more than that, though you certainly can, for instance by buying the one sold by a certain humongous miniatures company.

Hope that helps,

Kang

edit - Oh, I just noticed Fake Healer already mentioned pinning. Not sure how I missed that at first.

I actually finished pinning mine and I made him removable. I can have the dog without the rider! Maybe I will take a few shots and put them on FlickR with a link here. I also altered a D&D Stonechild to look more goliathy and altered a Bluespawn Stormlizard to look Rhino-ish and I pinned the Goliath's feet to fit in his base yet leave him removable so I can place him on the Rhino's back. I post them also when I take them...

Finally took the pictures, but still haven't painted the lil' guy. Here they are, feel free to browse.

Love the repainted t-rex, by the way.

Thanks! That was the first WotC mini that I altered and I didn't really know what to expect working with them, but I am happy with how it turned out.

I've spent the last three weeks since school let out catching up on painting a lot of minis, and I'm only just now starting my first Pathfinder figure (Erylium). As much as I want to repaint some of the thousands of D&D minis, I'm not holding my breath.
