Ahh so they have them. With any luck, I will have access to pdf's tomorrow. Does anyone know if the Paizo folks are working tomorrow or if this is a 4 day weekend for them? If they are off I reckon I will be waiting til Monday for pdf's, but if not I should get access before the holiday weekend. Can't wait to read this one.
Another fantastic bestiary in this one. Your new undead are formidable and chilling.

Should everybody have the email and the pdf link by now? I haven´t received any myself yet.

Just downloaded the pdf. Awesome issue. Awesome. Great art overall, and even if I just skimmed it, the castle looks like a great place to adventure.
I can foresee the complaints for the illos in the Zon-Kuthon article, but they're mighty fine with their Hellraiser feeling.
Kudos to Paizo for having the guts of doing some serious mature scary-stuff.
Plus there are Gugs!! Gugs!!

The past few issues I have been a lot further back on the list. I was several days behind those who received it first. It seems to be the luck of the draw although I understand that they are have a plan to get it out to superscribers first now.

Yeah I seem to remember seeing something to that effect. I will point out they didn't get the shipment til late yesterday, so I suspect the vast majority of us will get them today unless something wierd happens.
Does anyone know if Paizo is working or off today? Just wondering if anymore (:hint: MINE :hint:) orders will get shipped today.
Why would they be off? Maybe they're all in the warehouse trying to get everything shipped today since they probably won't be working tomorrow?
(I hope so, I would really enjoy being able to take a look at my PDFs tomorrow)

Mr. Vaughn,
you have outdone yourself. flipped through Skeletons' last night and was blown away. i even laughed maniacally at times thinking what I could put my players through and drooled over the phat lewt (briefly wishing I was a player).
Scarwall has a Ravenloft, Tomb of Horrors, and dare I say, Karazhan feel to it.

That's what I got from it to. I can't see why goodly clerics would even allow such a place. I'm starting a Crusade right now. Alright where's my sword? Bet it even Chelaxians are going ewe.
We're working today. We'll try to get as many out as we can today, so that folks can enjoy their PDFs over the three-day weekend.
People who haven't gone out yet include anybody with anything *other* than Pathfinder 11, Guide to Darkmoon Vale, and LB1 in their order, as well as anybody using international Priority Mail (which now includes most Canadian subscribers), and most APOs. (Oh—and people with failed credit cards.)

So by adding the Planet Stories subscription this month, with the "ship with AP" option it actually slowed down the processing of my subscription? I was under the understanding that you had changed things to process orders for people with more subscriptions first, or has this not been implemented yet?

Well, here's hoping you get to the Canadian ones before the end of the day, but if not, have a happy Independence Day weekend!

Hmmm... I fall into none of those catagories (that I'm aware of) and I still haven't gotten mine. Hope it ships soon.
Now, not only do us Canadians get screwed for high gas prices (we have so much love for our government's newly imposed carbon tax), we also get our RPG products shipped last :(
It we pay you in Canadian dollars, can we get our stuff sooner Vic? hehe

awesome!
Many thanks, Mr. Mactaka. I hope everybody enjoys it as much. I thought it looked like a cool castle to go through after I finished it, but of course I know where all the secret doors and save game buttons are, so it just wouldn't be the same. *sigh*
Incidentally, I'm going to have to show my ignorance and say...Karawhonow? I'm not familiar with that particular reference, though by its context it seems like I probably should be.

Here's the deal. We have two queues—let's call them the fast queue and the manual queue. Anything that a *lot* of people are doing (and doesn't require a special customs form) goes through the fast queue. Anything out of the ordinary goes through the manual queue. When you start a new Planet Stories subscription with the previous volume, that's out of the ordinary, so that gets you in the manual queue this month. But next month, assuming nothing else out of the ordinary happens, being a superscriber with a Planet Stories sub will get you way up in the front of the automatic queue. (Actually, all those subscriptions help get you towards the front of the manual queue, too... but it's just much slower.)
As for the Canadians, well, the recent postage increase changed the the cheapest shipping method to one that requires a special customs form. Gary is working on handling that form automatically in the fast queue; hopefully that'll happen before Pathfinder 12 arrives.
Well, for GMs that have reached a certain thrshold of party kills and players that have reached a certain threshold of putting cash in my pocket there are.
It's kinda's like that superscriber thingy Vic keeps talking about.
Thanks for the clarification, Vic. I didn't mean to come off as ungrateful for all the work you do, in case I did. It helps now to understand a bit better how the cogs work inside that beautiful machine that is Paizo. I got my pdfs now and am sated. I'll work with my shrink on dealing with my instant gratification issues before next month.
Holy crap! I just downloaded the file, and it is sweet! Very nice job! The castle is very very nice. I really like the nods to gothic horror & to Ravenloft. Even if I do not run the AP, I would still like to run the castle as a mini-adventure.
Can't wait to really read through it this weekend!
Cheers!

So the Karazhan-vibe is just coincidence....cool...
Spoiler:
It felt that way to me because of all the lore behind all the powerful named denizens both big and small. It ties into a whole story of how the place went bad, and shows how to cleanse it.
Kara' is one of the best instances WoW has done IMHO, so from my PoV its a compliment!
Lisa and I just finished shipping a bunch more. We got *almost* everything, but we ran out of customs forms, and can't reach anybody who can tell us where the secret stash is. (This is what happens when you let executives do the *real* work...)

BTW, Vic and Lisa, thanks for working over so late trying to get our stuff out to us. Have a good 4th of July and a wonderful weekend!
Finally got to read through the pdf today. This is in my opinion perhaps the best AP installment to date in the entire Pathfinder line. Castle Scarwall is the sort of thing that is made of my players nightmares. Some of the creatures in that place were so cool I giggled out loud. For personal favorites I thought Nihil was sweet and Keestad was perhaps THE coolest villain/creature story and concept I think I have ever read.
You Mr. Vaughn are the freaking truth. Even if I weren't using CotCT as a complete AP, I absolutely would use Castle Scarwall. I haven't felt this giddy about a dungeon since the first time I ever played through Undermountain. I don't mean it as faint praise, but I think Scarwall is even better for me than Undermountain was. Thanks for this awesome game experience!!!

O.o
Didn't mean to wierd you out there boss. Perhaps a better way to have said it would be that Scarwall evokes the same sort of excitement that Undermountain did the first time I played through it as a player. That sort of perfect combination of hopelesness, danger, and excitement with just a spritz of curiosity about the stories behind all these spirits and monsters.
What date will the PDF version be available for purchase?
July 30.

Fantastic adventure! I actually started reading it during a break in my training at work and couldn't put it down. Finished it before the day was over. If you all keep up this level of work I am going to get fired. The bad part being that I wouldn't care until I finished reading!
This is the first campaign I'm running as a DM and I've gotten a bit worried that my party will die horribly in the castle, repeatedly.
No one character class is required for a successfull party but my group has decided to test this to the limits, they do not have a rogue, cleric or wizard/sorceror. What they do have is a monk, druid, bard, urban ranger and a binder.
Spoiler:
So do I power up Laori to take the role of cleric that they'd need? Should I just change the loot to conveniant wands and potions? But without Zellara, a party that is used to having her around to identify items will not really know what there getting.

Any thoughts, suggestions?
G-Force
That party could do it I think, but they are going to have to be smart about it. Having a Cleric for turning is really nice, but I don't think strictly necessary. The Druid can handle a lot of divine casting stuff, but not all of it. I would have either Laori or Sial serve as that backup caster, but I would not level them to match the party. The group as constituted needs to focus on guerilla (hit and fade) tactics. The Druid needs to summon things like elementals that are immune to some of the undead special abilities. The Bard can use Bardic music to pump up those summoned critters. Have the Ranger Fire from range. The Binder can sub for an arcane caster with the right vestiges and should try to do that. The Monk and Ranger are your best melee types, but I suspect the Ranger is best at range and the Monk probably needs to try to take advantage of his superior speed in spring attack type combos.
Alternatively, if you genuinely feel the group needs a sorcerer or cleric or whatever to help them out then have them meet some NPC's. There are the Shoanti tribes that might serve that purpose. Alternatively you could have the NPC's be prisoners of the Shoanti that get called upon to help the party. Perhaps old friends from Korvosa have been trying to track the group to tell them about the worsening conditions in the city. Those can serve as ways to introduce a new NPC to the party to help them.
If they are smart I don't think they need a cleric or dedicated arcane caster, but if you think they will try to power through it then they will need backup casters and you could introduce them through a variety of hooks mentioned if you don't want to use the Brotherhood of Bones for that.
One of the most terrifying castles outside of Ravenloft, the best journal so far (nothing personal indeed) and a dark god that makes Shar and Loviatar both go 'whoa, son, you need to lay off the coffee'
question: The iconic paladin listed in Pathfinder #11 is listed as an athiest, how does that work? Who blesses her weapon and makes it holy? Who gives her a celestial mount? If she is in atheist doesn't that just make her a LG fighter and not a paladin?

I'm guessing that's a cut/paste error from Ezren's pregen. Seelah worships Iomedae.
Erik Mona is a prestige class right? From "Complete Eric Mona"?
In my campaign, the greatest dungeon is the Mausoleum of Amon Kier, connected to all other dungeons through vortexes. Guess how the dread Amon Kier himself look like..? ^^
