Hey! Actual cover art posted! Is that total hotness or what?

HAWT.

Woah...that right there is just a bowl of pure awesome sauce.

Wasn't sure how it would turn out with Steve Prescott doing the covers when I heard that but holy crap did that just blow me away.

Dare I say this is better than the WAR ones I've seen so far... I don't know of he'll be so consistent with the sexiness of his covers but if this is anything to go by, I can't wait!

I need that cover as a poster. Amazing!

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber)

That cover is made of distilled win.

Nice, but I can't read the cover.

Hurry up with it.

Being in China and having scored an awesome monitor I'm looking at limiting myself to PDFs from the Chronicles line.

Will the 4 panel continent poster map have a hi-res counterpart in the PDF Chronicles Gazetteer that would look decent on a A3 or larger printout?

The poster map will be included at the same resolution as all of our PDFs. So if your printer produces good output when you print a single-page map to an A4 sheet, you should see the same quality when you print the poster map to an A3 sheet.

Super art. Love it.

My printer rules.

Thanks Vic! And by the way, you've put this out pretty fast and I really appreciate it. I'll be using it to start yet another pbp on your awesome messageboards.

I have another question: the idea of printing a large poster world map was bounced around on the threads. Have you guys discussed this idea and if so do you see such a product seeing the light?

I ask because it may affect my decision to buy either paper or pdf. My preference is to get the pdf of the gazetteer and a HUGE poster of the world later.

That would be for the editorial folks to answer, but I know there's nothing like that on the schedule for the rest of the year at least. (I suspect we'll want to see how the folios sell first.)

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

I see that the due dates for this and other related products has been pushed back a month. Why? I have been putting off my campaign until I get this one and the others. I know there is little I can do about this, but I would like an explanation. I know that my credit card will not be charged until it ships, but I had planned my expenses for February already to account for the books.

Thanks in advance.

The Chronicles products shifted around a bit for a couple of reasons. For one thing, though the Guide to Korvosa and the Harrow Deck are listed for March, we actually expect them to arrive in the last days of February. Since we can't currently guarantee that we'll be able to ship all of the subscriber copies out in February, we're calling it March.

As for the Gazetteer, well, it just plain took Erik longer to do his part than anyone expected. In fact, we're not sure yet that we'll even make March, but that's the goal.

Also, when we first announced this line, we weren't offering subscriptions, so we had some months with multiple products and some with none; we may actually be doing some more shuffling of the summer products to make for a more subscriber-friendly monthly release schedule.

Vic Wertz wrote:

That's interesting, because I won't be buying the folios but do want a Golarion poster map. The purpose of the folios is to remedy the problems of page flipping while the purpose of the map is to put up on my wall and gaze at in Paizo-rapture--kind of like getting some prints of the great art you guys are doing.

I guess I don't see their sales tied to those of the folios.

Is the information in this going to be reprinted in the hardcover campaign setting book?

No. It may cover some of the same subjects, but should not be reprinted material.

Right now, we're expecting it in the second half of April.

I just double-checked our production manager's calendar as well as the latest schedule sent from the printer, and both of them agree that we should have it in mid-April.

As I recall, it's mentioned a few times in some of the historical entries, but it doesn't get a regional writeup.

Yay! Vic just made my day!

I'm REALLY looking forward to this one!

Will there be any information in this book on the area that's been suggested to host a Shackled City conversion? I think Erik wrote something in a chat about the Mwangi Expanse being the suggested region?

Awesome piece of news. I'm just delaying a bit my new Pathfinder campaign just to have it ready for the inevitable bunch of extra info I'll need.

Yes, the Mwangi Expanse gets the same sort of treatment all of the 40-some other nations get.

My wife has ordered it for me for my birthday! Will it get to the U.K. by 22nd April?

Hope so! If not, then I still have the excellent Korvosa book I'm working through.

Peace,

It'll be very close!

Did something happen with the April release date? When my sidecart updated today with all of the April releases shipping with Pathfinder #8 the Gazetteer wasn't on the list.

From what I'm reading above, it'll be ready at the 2nd half of April - so if yours ships like mine, with Pathfinder the adventure, then probably it'll go with next month's shipment.

God is dead in Heaven.

Okay, maybe it isn't that bad. But still... drat.

I'm gonna start subscribing to Pathfinder Chronicles soon...

Ok, so I have a chronical subscription and Im getting the classic Monsters book auto shipped but I do not see this one listed. Will I need to order it separate?

It has not arrived from the printer yet.

I went with this one simply because it reminds me of the mask worn by Cory Taylor of Slipknot

May? It won't arrive until then? Man, I am so waiting on this one item to start my AP. Is there an actual, solid release date? Does May 15 sound close to the arrival date in my mail box?

Thanks for the quality work, but hurry along, please.

I think we're looking at this week sometime. I don't know why they are taunting us.

Or it may be the first week of May, which is really only next week.
