does anyone buys these books?

I'm sure the author's mother bought a copy. Maybe gramdma has one too...

I bought it for the artwork if nothing else. Stunning. Also I found the writers perspectives and thought processes behind 4E to be very interesting.

But was it worth the price tag?

My reaction from what I've heard suggests its better than the last preview book they released but does anyone know why they did this?

I'm wondering at the price of the Shadowfell adventure which is supposed to introduce 4e and its as exorbitant as these previews...

Dungeon Survival Guide? WTF was that but a Money grab A book where they praise and tell you how to survive these classic adventures of broken systems of early D&D? Once 4e is out I'm sure we'll see books like-"Remember How Great 3.5 Was Guide" where they explore the awesomeness that was 3.5 :)

If your not interested in 4E and their design philosophy then I would probably say no. The Art is stunning but I'm sure it'll appear on the net at some point.

Personally I enjoyed both books but I really enjoyed Worlds & Monsters, it's very evocative and a lot of ideas were born whilst reading.

This book just shows whar WotC thinks about its customer base. I for one am offended.

Horus, I agree. I give this book very high marks, though it is overpriced. Still, I agree it was evocative . . .there are a lot of ideas that I know my group will like, and, hell, there are some ideas that are close to what I am already doing.

I can't believe they are selling peaks into 4th ed. This does not bode well for 4th ed.

I am honestly very satisfied with 3.5 and what Paizo is doing with it. I would prefer to keep playing it rather than subscribe to the new edition every 6 years or whatever the marketing guys at WotC figured out would make them the most profit.

Ggrrrrr

ASEO out

Wizards havnt been selling much 3.5 since they annonced the upcoming 4th edition. Stores can't get any more unless they order direct from Wizards. So since they are not selling and not making money they bring up garbage like this to entice people to buy anything in the meanwhile. This gets to show that once again a corporation is a corporation and business is not the people, but the money! Nuff said!!

I notice you're a charter subscriber to basically everything D&D related, so I'm surprised you're not bragging about "only" paying $20 for a full-color ADVERTISEMENT.

I have this bridge, y'see, I can sell. It's got lots of room to put your gaming table on it...

Some people would buy doggie-doo in a bag if it had "D&D" stamped on it. And, apparently, some already have...
