so really...this won't be available to subscribers until October?

I have the same question. I thought it was a typo. I'd hate to have to wait 2 months before the next installment. I might have to put the game on hold.
Unfortunately, the October release is correct. The third installment is expected in very early November and the 4th in late November. #5 will put us on track with mid-to-late December. Turns out, producing a jumbo-sized Dragon and Dungeon, Pathfinder #1, and a GameMastery Module at generally the same time we attend Gen Con put us a wee bit behind. The editorial staff are working ridiculously long hours to get back on track. There should be an email going out to subscribers next week regarding this.

By which he means that, since probably May, I've been working an average of 6 days a week and putting in 65–70 hour weeks (just last Tuesday I put in a 16 hour day to get "Hook Mountain Massacre" finished for layout). What that means, in other words, is that Pathfinder 2 COULD have come out in late November.
Anyway, as Josh says, it does look like we'll be caught up again with Pathfinder 4. Which means 2 and 3 and 4 (particularly 3 and 4) will be coming out in pretty quick sucesssion.
I didn't want to post the gory details, but there you go. :-) James is working like crazy to get everything on track. Because, well, because James rules and because he's got just a touch of the Cthulhu in 'im.
I have it on good authority that running into the editorial pit at 10 P.M. on a Sunday and yelling, 'HI JAMES!' is a bad, bad thing. We'll miss Mike.

That may turn out for the best, if they arrive in time for people to use them during the end of year/holiday lull. Let's all hope for the best.
Thanks for the feedback on the time schedule. It always helps to set the right expectations. I appreciate the work that has been done, and look forward to reading the rest!
I used to work overtime filling in for another employee, and that did a number on me. Time and space swam like granola clusters and corn through my eyes. It was during the peak of our company's year, and I felt miserable. I had not known how miserable I was until it settled down and the co-worker came back from surgery a few months later.
I appreciate all of Paizo's hard work. I could wait for more if it meant everyone there got decent rest and relaxation. I'd feel horrible if all of this pressure turned bad just so issue #2 came out more quickly. I know this is your livelihood, but what's that compared with living? I used to be addicted to caffeine as well (I used to drink 12 cups minimum each day of espresso, but a typical day ran at 24 cups of it), and I still feel the urge on mornings when I'm tired. I hope everyone stays healthy over there.
Well said DarkArt. Thanks very much for all of the hard work all of you folks. I know that it must be galling to have your flagship product be late so soon and everything, but really, it's ok. We understand. We're delightfully happy with the amazing quality of Pathfinder and we get that life piles up sometimes. Please please take a couple of days off, get some sleep, whatever. It would be so much worse to have you wonderful people get burnt out than to wait a little extra time for the next book.
Since the print copy is delayed, will the pdf. copy be released at the normal time?
Yes—but the "normal time" is when the print edition ships from our warehouse.

The reason (from what I understand) is that they will charge us as the item ships out and that releases the PDF for viewing. Of course, I would not mind being charge and having access to the PDF while waiting for the print version, but I am sure that if that occured, it would wreak havoc upon the Paizo server system.

What about shipping times this time? Do us un-americans have to wait another week or three again before we get our PDF's?
We have a couple of possibilities for fixing that problem for Pathfinder 2. The one that's better for us involves getting the USPS to approve our electronic customs form, and there's a possibility that may not happen in time.
Failing that, we do have a backup plan that should allow us to start shipping international subscriptions when we start shipping the US ones, but the international ones will still individually take longer than the domestic ones under that method.

There is a technological reason why, yes—our entire fulfillment system is built around the concept of shipping products, and dedicating our only programmer to rewriting it when it's not really broken is just not a wise decision. We have a bunch of much cooler things on his to-do list that we're all aching for him to get to.
But beyond that, Pathfinder is foremost a print product—the PDF is a bonus. Acting otherwise hampers our ability to market our products effectively.
September is over. October is upon us. So Paizo, can we still expect "The Skinsaw Murders" by "the first week of October"?
We can... as in it's supposed to be coming in to the office and then shipping right out to subscribers and distributors this week! I've got my fingers crossed!

Outstanding! I'll cross my fingers and toes as well...
As I have now observed on another post, and hopefully many more, we can now add to the growing list of censurable abominations in Pathfinder: THE HOOKAH BAR in Magnimar (p 63). This is great man! Not only do these places seem real, but they have ganja, too. Varisia is so dope!
Well, it's Columbus Day and I'm still waiting. Not gonna complain though, there was no mail delivery due to the holday so hopefully sometime this week Pathfinder 2 will arrive. First one was pretty good. I have reviews on LiveJournal to that effect.
Just wanted to warn you guys at Paizo, Amazon has the individual Pathfinders for less than the subscriber's price (I'm not complaining, because I LOVE the PDF as a subscriber), but they also give you free shipping with orders over $25 with this...
I know you want to increase your circulation but aren't you cutting your own throats here?

Nope. I know it's counterintuitive to many, but selling our own products for significantly less than suggested retail would be cutting our throats. If our industry's retailers felt that we, as a publisher, were unfairly competing with them for their customers by undercutting them, they'd stop carrying our products, and that would be a problem.
That's why our subscriber price, plus shipping, works out in the neighborhood of cover price (depending on where it is we're shipping to).
We're hoping that the free PDF, though, is enough incentive for you to subscribe.

Upon rereading this, I'm now wondering if I misunderstood you. My first reply assumed that you were asking why we don't lower our online price to compete with Amazon.
But were you perhaps instead suggesting that we made a deal with Amazon to *let* them sell at a lower price? No—we have no control over their prices, and, in fact, we don't even sell to them directly. They buy from a distributor, just like your FLGS.

You got it almost - not that you made a deal with Amazon (or anyone else for that fact), but that they are selling it cheaper than the source, so to speak...
At any rate, getting the PDF as a bonus is why I subscribed. Well, that and the fact that it's a damn good product.
Having read issue #1 cover to cover, and just browsing through issue #2 I will offer some feedback. Very good adventures indeed. Selecting Sean K. Reynolds to do the Church of Desna… very smart. I think we all know he rocks at fleshing out deities and their dogma. Rob Lazzaretti did a great job mapping as I’ve become accustomed to. I even like the quality of the cover and paper stock.
Now that the good is out of the way, I will air my only complaint. Some of the interior art SUCKS. No other way to pretty that point up. Whichever artist is responsible for the block bugbear and ranger guy with the 10 ft bastard sword in issue #1… eww. I’m not knocking the artist’s skill, but the style made my eyes bleed. In issue #2 we have Justice Ironbar. This is just retarded looking. Bug World of Warcraft floppy donkey ears on the elf, not to mention clothing that only a 1st level Jester would wear, if he had a score of bodyguards to protect him. Of the interior that is good, most of it clearly is the work of Andrew Hou, the rest has some really nice work, but I am unfamiliar with the artists. The covers of course are great.
Hopefully you will be able to agree on the artwork I have mentioned, good and bad, and thank you for taking up where WotC dropped the ball on us.

The free PDF is why I'm going with it. Often times I find myself in need of 1 page from a book, and a PDF lets me get that 1 page without using a photocopier.
Not to mention as a subscriber, the PDF is available days before the printed copy gets here in the mail. :)
Just wanted to pop in and say thanks to the Paizo staff for the amazing quality of the Pathfinder Chronicles and Gamemastery modules thus far. Keep up the great work and thanks for supporting 3.5e and writing such fun, challenging and creative scenarios. The true spirit of Dungeon mag lives on.
I suppose its at least worth something that my doppleganger is the Director of Sales and Marketing...
*waves* Hello Frost.
And an extremely good Director of Sales and Marketing I might add...either that or he can exert influence over my wallet through our shared avatars. I just can't stop buying Paizo products. Just got my Skinsaw Murders today! I ambushed the clerk at my 3rdFLGS first thing uhh...yesterday now. ^_^

The PC's ascended to the top of the tower last night, ready to face off against Xanesha. Should I monologue this or should I just have her start shredding them like pinatas?
