War of the Wielded
by Michael Kortes
Centuries ago, two rival thieves' guilds crafted a number of intelligent weapons to aid them in their conflicts. Although the guilds are now long dead, their weapons remain, and have begun to recruit new soldiers from the people of Sasserine. Can your PCs put an end to this deathless war? A D&D adventure for 5th-level characters.

Twisted Night
by Stefan Happ
The coastal village of Caer Garrion has mysteriously depopulated, and the only survivior, a lone prisoner in the local jail, has gone mad. What does this village's sinister fate portend for the Moonshae Isles? A Forgotten Realms adventure for 8th-level characters.

Enemies of my Enemy
by Wolfgang Baur
The time has come to draw your plans against the Prince of Demons! Travel to Hades, Arborea, and the depths of the Abyss to recruit allies from the eladrin court and the Abyssal realms of Shendilavri and Thanatos, and garner the support of Iggwilv, the Witch Queen herself! Yet will this unlikely alliance of demons and eladrin be enough to stop the savage tide? A Savage Tide Adventure Path scenario for 19th-level characters.

I agree the cover is great, but where is the adventure synopsis? Are they not missing?

All I can see is the cover..."TO ARMS! Talking Swords invade Sasserine" .......interesting...tell me more.

I don't know about the Talking Swords adventure, but the Moonshae Madness reference is regards "Twisted Night" (working title, I don't know if they changed it), a mid level adventure set in the Moonshae Islands. I don't know how much I should reveal, so I'll not say more.

That's great! Long about this time some 20 years gone, Moonshae was D&D for me. I have been in love with the Islands since I was 12. Hey, speaking of which, isn't this the 20th anniversary of the Moonshae Trilogy (niles)?

Depends who you ask. I'm certain that's not Iggwilv's true form. It's the one she's been using lately, though.

Hmmm...cool...hopefully you'll like "Twisted Night"....I loved the Moonshae Islands as well and ran a whole campaign there in the late 80's, early 90's. That's one of the reasons I picked the Moonshaes for this adventure, because I loved the Niles novels and loved the whole dark celtic flavor of the setting. Plus, I hadn't seen anything set in the Moonshaes in Dungeon in quite some time and back in early 2006 James and company were asking for short FR adventures and I managed to slip one in that got through the render.

"Fiend's Embrace" is such a cool magic item--it's featured prominently in my campaign and I'm sure in many others.

You have an adventure in this one F2K? Congrats! Look forward to checking it out. The Moonshae novels were my first taste of FR.

Thanks, Mothman. Hopefully it'll meet expectations. It's not very long, about 8000 words.

8000 more words than I've had published... Or ever will in Dungeon for that matter, given the current state of things.

Did I see a campaign workbook article by you in Issue 148 as well?

Scorba,

That would be "War of the Wielded", Dungeon #149's low-level adventure. I think the blurb below is an official promotional blurb:

Dungeon 149

This month’s Dungeon features three exciting D&D adventures, including “War of the Wielded,” a low-level D&D adventure in which the PCs face a struggle carried on beyond the death of an ancient kingdom by a collection of intelligent magical weapons; “Twisted Night,” a Forgotten Realms adventure that pits the heroes against a band of slavers who have allied with a particularly twisted monster (by Stefan Happ AKA F2K!) and “Enemies of my Enemy,” the penultimate installment in the hugely popular Savage Tide Adventure Path, in which the heroes draw their plans against their enemy, Demogorgon — plans that may just involve recruiting Orcus, Malcanthet, Iggwilv, and other mutual enemies of the Prince of Demons!

Hope that helps!

Yes, thank you...on listening posts. Just my luck to get on a roll right when the magazine goes away. Since I helped write the Sehan trilogy, I was so fortunate to end up in 5 of the last 6 Dungeons ever.

James, you right about the demonic cheesecake and Iggwilv looked so adorable in all her wicked evil. However I didn't think you were serious about Orcus.

A nipple ring?

On the Prince of the Undead....

I just got my copy of this issue off the rack at my local gamer store.

FANTASTIC!

In some ways, the sparse description of the court of the Succubi Queen's 'summer palace' was far more disturbing than if the author(s) had gone with a full frontal explanation. Good job guys!

Anyways, the Savage Tide adventure path is obviously reaching it's ultimate culmination - my particular gaming group has only just begun this series but already I can't wait for them to dive into Abyssal politics and get to the final confrontation! Well written, and creepy, descriptions of the critters along with a consistant and extremely well thought out plot have me hooked on this particular series.

Also, Iggwilv is kinda weirding me out. Nice job on the cover art.

The 'madness in moonshae' adventure is also well done. Forgotten Realms isn't my thing, but the adventure has more than a few quirks. Given my relative indifference towards the Realms, I'd count that as high praise indeed.

And last but not least - 'To Arms' is something I might very well have to run as a side trek adventure in Sasserine. My players are about the right level, haven't ran off to the Isle of Dread as yet and they could use the level bump afore they head off into the wilderness. The adventure is a bit on the short side, but easily workable into any given city (might take a bit of work with the maps tho). Very interesting twist on a villian, and the solution to the problem has the value of being unique!

All in all, a VERY well done issue. Personally, I can't wait to see the conclusion of the Savage Tide adventure series. This issue set the tone for what must be a slam bang ending! It's a shame that the next issue will be the very LAST issue of Dungeon magazine, but based on what I've seen so far, the writers and editorial staff are determined to end things with one hell of a wind up!

Can anyone tell me what the drawing on this issue's Dungeoncraft (Epic Level Good Guys)is supposed to be?

I'm referring to the picture of the guy with the anteater nose carrying the produce. He seems familliar but I'll be freezing in the Nine Hells before I can remember what he (she/it) is. A little help please?

He's a killmoulis. First appeared in the 1st edition Fiend Folio. No one's given the poor little guy much love since.

Ebay? Other than that, I can't really think of anything unless WotC gives Paizo permission to sell PDFs of the newer issues.

Any maps exist for some of the encounters in Twisted Night? This seemed like something of an omission to me.
