I got Cthulhu plush in 2001, he is now seven years old and has been joined by his other toyvault friends. I even made a deep one for him. He is quite cute really, and is still soft and plushy.
I got hima Cthulhu video for him for Christmas and the whole family can watch it before Doctor Who.
Anybody got more plushy life stories of their Cthulhus out there? Then let us know!

Hopefully stories to come. I ordered one for my 6 month old daughter for Xmas. I just hope he gets here in time...

Well, I finally got this today.
Needless to say, it would have been nice if someone had posted the "Choking Hazard - Not for children under 3 years" warning in the item description...

My daughter is under 3 and I got her one of these. What choking hazard is there? I suppose if she managed to tear the eyes off and eat them somehow, but other than that, I don't see the risk.

Strictly speaking, I haven't taken it out of the plastic yet to doublecheck. But on first perusal, I didn't see anything that jumped out at me as a likely culprit. Maybe in case a hole gets put in it and some of the beanie parts inside fall out?

Ah yes, I suppose there is that. It seems unlikely that a child is going to tear a hole in a plushy, though. Again, in my experience, it's been a non-issue. My daughter has had her's for over a year now. It's still in good shape, and she's just now 29 months old.

When I visited Fatey, I slept on an air mattress in his daughter's room and that plushie eyed me from the dresser, taunting me and infiltrating my dreams. That's the biggest danger that thing poses.

Choking on the tentacles maybe...?

Normally yeah, I'd agree with you. But her uncle did give her that switchblade for Xmas too. (And that darn thing didn't have a warning either.)
I suppose it's probably not that big a deal really, all things considered. After all, I still think bike helmets are dumb myself. I am just now left with the questionable ethical dilemma of whether to take all the tags off it here at work, before bringing it home to the scrutiny of She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed.
I suppose some SAN drain was inevitable though when I ordered it, though.

They're no more a hazard than the arms and legs of any traditional teddy bear would be. They're quite firmly attached to the body of the plushy and only the smallest infants would not be able to push the plushy away (or drop it) when the choking began, thus removing the tentacle and solving the problem.

Maybe the choking hazard is the label that says "choking hazard?"
Seriously, though, we'll see what we can do about adding the appropriate age warning to the toys that we have in stock... but we're not notified of any age warnings when the product is solicited, so we wouldn't be able to provide the info for anything we don't have stock for.
