Ages ago, he swore that his rule would last forever, that the kingdom need never fear life without his protection. Now he lives on as a lich, issuing terrible decrees in a hoarse whisper through rotting teeth. A Compleat Encounter, scalable to any level, featuring a lich sovereign, his mummy queen, and the wretched soulstone.

D1 Crown of the Kobold King (page 3):
"The patron is not concerned about a ragtag band of kobolds, but rather divinations reveal that a greater evil grows restless farther below the earth, a dread undead rumored to serve the infamous Whispering Tyrant."
Just something to consider, for those looking to add some depth to adventures around Falcon's Hollow.

I own the Vault. I'm talking from memory here, but I think it's basically scaled for 8th level or 10th level PCs. Then, you have a sidebar providing all the advice you need to scale it to any character level.

I wonder how applicable the history of the lich-king Tar-Baphon is to the region around Falcon's Hollow.

Without saying too much, the Whispering Tyrant and Falcon's Hollow are tangentially connected.

How do these work? are they small modules with maps and stuff?
That's what I am expecting.
Actually that's what I am hoping

There's a short mini-adventure and some map tiles and three minis.
Cards 1-4: The adventure itself. There is a "Scaling" sidebar at the end. The only backstory has to do with the main bad-guys, who also happen to be the minis.
Card 5-6,7-8,9-10: Details about main bad-guys. Front side=sketch. Back side=stat block and picture of painted mini.
Map Tiles (4): Front side and back side are of the same location, but with changes. For instance, one might show a magic circle glowing (on one side), or a flooded passageway.
That's about it.
The good thing is that these mini-adventures can be plopped into any campaign / setting b/c other than the names of the three minis, there is nothing setting-specific in them to muck up your world.

It's very adaptable. All the GM Encounters had generic adventure setups, so they could be plugged into any setting without much work.
I did mine as an Age of Worms sidetrek, and it worked seamlessly.

Anyone come up with a convenient way of storing these adventures? They're basically an odd sized stack of cards and figuring out how to store them is about my only complaint.

Looks like they are discontinuing these as they dropped the cross-marketing blurb about them from the newer Map Packs released in 2008. Also the figures are on clearance, which is nice, I picked up the mummy from this, great fig.

Just a update, but no the pages won't work, probably best to just use the magazine sized ones from Pro-Choice. As the material is far superior to the standard ones.
