Well, I feel like I can't pass up on this sale -- but I like to research a little before I buy.

Could some kind gamer inform me what to expect in this book? It'd be much appreciated.

I feel the same way. Can anyone give me some info on what to expect from this book?

Hmmph. You obviously don't know me very well.

I've spent the morning with two browser windows open: Paizo's sale section, and EN World's Green Ronin Reviews. It's quite useful.

That is exactly what I am doing right now. :)

Same here. I haven' bought the items yet, because I am trying to limit my search to 3.5 updated material, but I will soon. And now I am on some wierd quest to find more.

I plan on playing 3.5 for some time instead of 4e (my groups/friends choice) . . .by the by does anyone know of any comprehensive list of 3.5 3rd party books?

Well, I bought about $50 worth of stuff. And now I am on the hunt for other 3e stuff I can buy cheap . . .there is a lot out there!

This si THE BEST BOOK for help developiong a new campaign. i can't live without it.

It has doubled our fun, tought me a lot about writing my own stuff, and saved a friendship. read the intensity material if nothing else.

The other two are good too, of course.

I'm happy to hear this. I have one on order. :D

Interesting...

Got mine in the mail yesterday. Just a quick readthrough of the campaign planning sections already has caused cool ideas for campaigns to bubble up in my head... Some are threatening to seep out!

Yeah. And, it would have been my fault.

Most of my players are no-holds-barred roleplayers. If they fail an adventure, and as a result a group of schoolchildren are molested then ground into sausage by a troll only to secretly be served to the PCs, they deal with it in character. Since it's all entirely imaginary, it doesn't bother them at all. Not a lick. Part of the game.

BHut that's not true of all of my players. I have a friend in particular who was having nightmares about my games a few years ago. He's very empathic, and very imaginative, ans some fof the stuff that happened in our games rerally, really bothered him. He thought we all knew, and we didn't, so when it kept happening he took it personally, and came to wonder if we were trying to drive him out of the gaming group. So he started to play less and less.

So when he did play, I tried to ramp up the action, which meant the game had even more of the stuff he didn't want. He stopped haging out with us much at all, and was beginning to warn away other players. (Which, hoenstly, may havee been a good idea tat the time).

Enter the Advanced Gamemaster Guide. I am reading through it, and find the sections on campaign intensity and sensitive subjects. Especially, intensity pushers (we have some of those in our games). One night, I happened to ask what everyone throught of our intensity level. And my friend exploded with feelings on the subject. We both realiozed there was a huge problem, and we didn't even know it.

Now all our games have a declared intensity level, which we revisit every six months or so. That firend only plays in our lighter games, and we're all very happy at the resu;lt, And we spread the gospel wherever we can, because it saves a lot of pain and heartache.

Our games are better, and my friend now games and hangs out happily, rather than move away and think we're intentionally trying to bother him.

Ok, I may just have something wrong with me this morning, but I can't seem to be able to find the reviews for these products. could someone help me out by linking directly to the reviews maybe? specifically, this one and the players guide. it would also help if they did one for Exalted. and it would really help if they had a feature to search the reviews.

I can't seem to find that review on EN world. I think they moved it. Anyone else know of a good review of the Gamemaster's Guide?

It's an awesome book of alternate rules and options. Buy it.

Is that enough of a review? ;-)

I ordered this book when it first went on sale, and I was still coming to grips with the Pathfinder rules at that time. Now, a few months later, I've just sat down with the book and am going through it again and picking up lots of interesting ideas.

It has a lot of alternate rules and such, but also has some great ideas for story hooks, staging interesting fights, etc etc.

The Mass Combat rules contained within are worth picking up this book, IMHO.
