Hi there! First of all - I don't want to have a replacement copy! Why I write this? Well, I got one for the Campaign Setting and the Corebook as well, and I don't want Paizo to think of me like I do it on purpose...
I was so afraid of experiencing binding or paging problems again with a Paizo Hardcover and, well, my Bestiary finally arrived (wonderfull book!).
But I have binding issues again. Its not yet broken, but the spine (at the top) will tear apart from the cover soon. At the bottom of the spine the binding is fine. I used transparent, sticky book-cover film (don't know how to describe it any better in english - sorry) to give the whole backcover more toughness :) And I think this will do the trick. It has to, because the Bestiary will be a highly used book.
I tell you this, because I wonder if you take any actions towards the company which is putting your hard-cover books together? Or if this whole problem is a known issue for you guys?!

Greetz,

Not an official response, but as a fellow customer with previous shipping troubles, I can say with fair confidence that the issue is not with the books but with the shipping.
I had UPS and FedEx BOTH ship a damaged copy of the Core book when I ordered from Amazon. The books are otherwise very sturdy, but the damage done was definitely in shipping.
My local game store recommended exactly what you did when I asked how to repair a Very Very Old Book they sold me. "Lightweight, clear glue.. reapply as needed"
Also, you might want to email customer.service@paizo.com with this question as it seems to have slipped the cracks.

Well, the package was fine, and the book safely inside. No bend corners or whatever.
It's just that white strip at the the top of the spine which is not going along the whole length, and happens to be too short, so that the backcover is held to the spine by that green paper only...
That glue-thing seemed to work so far, I feel far better when browsing the book now...
Again, I don't my book got damaged during shipment.
Thanx for answering :)
