John and Marsha finally consumated their love, albeit over the dead body of Marsha's husband. Their mother was quite upset with them until she saw the locket hanging out of the dead man's pocket. A locket she had thought lost long ago, when she had that tryst with a young boy in Rio. Realization dawning on her, she stabbed her two children to death for killing their father and fled the area with the carnival. She is now beginnning her new life as the Bearded Lady. Oh wait, that's my soap opera...
