You know, sometimes lonely men on a lonely outdoor excursion bundle together naked in order to to stay warm and survive the elements and nothing of a sexual nature occurs. Just because we spooned and he complained, "Dude, your entire bony forearm is pressing full force on my spine," and I said, "That's not my forearm," that does not make us gay cowboys.

It's the bedazzled chaps that make us gay cowboys.

Hey, pardner, sometimes bedazzled chaps are just bedazzled chaps.

Yeah, giving Shiny an uncensored straightaway to work with? I'm pretty sure that might spark the End of Days.

Some guy called in for the last contest but his message was a bit corrupted. Would call him back to tell him to do it again but he left no full name, phone number, or email address.

I'm going to have to change our contest blurb to make the contact info part even more painfully clear. I can't tell you how many people called in and said, "This is Bob. My entry for... (the entry) Bye."

And now a number of questions I always wanted to ask while in my car, but was too absent-minded to remember to type up later when I was actually in front a computer:

- "Blah de blah has arrived... Let's listen in."
Who? Forty-some episodes of trying and I still can't make this bastich out.

- Any plans for an upcoming episode on Gumshoe (apart from the blurb in the Gencon eps), or a recap of Colonial Gothic?

- Speaking of which, Ed's pick from the CG episode "Rabble In Arms" is the second book in that series according to Amazon. So start with that one or whichever one is the first?

- When is Samsara getting onto iTunes? I got a cd mix with a Barton-sized hole in it. (Now that's a phrase we all wish we had more excuses to use in everyday conversation...)

- Do you really want to hurt me? Do you really want to make me cry?

That's all I can remember just now.

Madgael, perhaps our tastes are somewhat close. Many times, when E&R introduce another game system, I'm saying, "Dammit guys, I don't need no more steenking seestems!" But those two times in particular, I went all the way from disappointment to saying, "Okay, I need two more systems. Just two more, then, I'm done." Up Colonial Gothic, Up Gumshoe.

We are quite likely going to revisit CG and there's been talk of spotlighting Gumshoe.

We did indeed run the Cthulhutech contest to trick you into entering, winning, and then feeling the pressure to go out and buy the additional books. Our Machiavellian schemes are why we are where we are right *now.

It's funny. The first AA show I listened to was Reign of Discordia (#2) but I didn't listen again until Alpha Omega (#12) but from then on I listened to every episode (and went back to listen to all the previous episodes). I keep the CD spindle in the car and will throw an old one in every now and again for the fun of it.

I didn't actually enter a contest until AA (#15) and actually won (#19) There have been a couple of contests I've wanted to enter but forgot to by the end date (and one that I would have won but for my own stupidity). You guys really spotlight some good stuff and even the stuff you do for Systems I don't play I'm always "man I would love that, but don't have that system".
I hang out for each new episode now, which is a big congrats, because up 'til AA I had never listened to a podcast before. You guys converted me.

Among other things, such as bringing attention to lesser known games, AA was a show put together to suit our own tastes - providing the type of entertainment we'd like to hear. Therefore, anyone who likes the show is probably a lot like us psychically. Terrifying, no?

I went back and listened to 13 again, and it made the new show more enjoyable. Just a tip to people who might not have had the clearest memory of the first Cthulhutech show.

EDIT: Same here, Flash, as far as conversion goes.

Amen. I just picked up a copy of CG about a week ago, so I am jonesing for more than the one ep really hard.

And I am reminded of how much there needs to be an episode on Gumshoe every time I call for a DC 10 Perception check to decide who spots the obvious and necessary clue to move on first, and then watch as the entire party promptly fails the roll.

Ed shows up, just not as often. I've exchanged posts with him over here before. He's probably just busy with all his cherubic little children.

I'd say the real problem is Ed's too much of a pretty boy to take the Sean Connery role. ;)

You know, the author has tons of books, but you can read Rabble in Arms on its own and do fine. It's a great book and, if you like it, you can always go on to read the rest.

I'd also suggest 'Sloop of War' by Alexander Kent. Killer book.

Well that's a great one to start with! If I were in your enviable position of being able to shepherd someone special through the horror genre for the first time, I'd try to show my favorites first, because if you show the uninspired formulaic schlock first, you'll lose 'em.

Question is... to show The Exorcist or not? I know it's almost forty years old but that one will mess people up and you don't want to send your wife running. You think that film would effect her, or is it somewhat passe by modern standards since so much has copied it since?

Late breaking news: Southwest airline wouldn't let filmmaker Kevin Smith board a flight because he was too big to fit into a seat. That happening to anyone has to feel crappy... but to be famous enough that it makes the news? Egad.
