Ok, I'm going to N'awlins for ten days. I might not be there for the live draft, but I will make sure I can get to a wifi spot to set my roster before Thursday.

Eh, he declined. Sorry.

its an auto draft so no worries

I always worry about autodrafts. The last one I didn't show up for I got stuck with Jackson, Houshmandzadeh, and Matt Leinart, so I had to scramble for replacements.

we are at 7 teams. I will try to get 3 more

anybody want in?

any of the current players want someone in?

we have an 8 man league barring any last minute pleas tonight

I've joined in, and while I'll be busy moving during the draft, I've sorted out those settings. Hopefully I'll get some good players!

my team stinks

I'm going to chalk the Jacobian Carnivores loss up to having a bad day. You will all be devoured!!

Not sure why I haven't been back here to check out smack talk or whatnot.

I'll run no smack, but I will gloss my Steelers. Woot!

I'm so glad you got knocked out. The last game (losing to you by two points) was soul crushing, Orklahoma.

However, as I am in the championship game, I am looking forward to crushing my opponent, driving his bench warmers before me, and hearing the lamentations of his cheerleaders.

And...yes. Cheerleader lamentations all around as Houston (the non-Golarian entry from the dude who only homebrews) takes the trophy.

Thanks!

It's just the first of a potential four (out of seven leagues I play) championships for me in fantasy football this year. I am half way through the two week (combined score) championships in two other leagues (one I'm deadlocked going in, so week 17 rules all, the other I have a comfortable lead going into the second week, so only a complete disaster would queer that one).

The last one is a league that's carried over from my prison days (it's now eight years old, same players), and I've never finished better than third in that league, so being guaranteed second with a chance at a championship there is a pretty big deal for me.

I am happy that a team with a winning regular season record won the Paizo League (there were only two of us), I would be sick if I made all those moves and worked my team for the last few months for nothing...

8 years with an obstacle like inside time, that's an achievement.

I should get involved in fantasy football (Rugby Union is my game) but there are too many games to follow in Australia there are two codes of Rugby one of Australian rules and then there is soccer squeaking loudly in the corner making a nuisance of its self and annoying the crap out of me.

All the guys I work with are Indian and cricket is their game (at the moment we Australians are not happy with cricket as our team has plummeted from 1st in the world to 5th or 6th)so fantasy cricket with the workmates would be painful :-)

I am interested American football and used to follow the Redskins but I couldn't tell you who their quarterback is now too much to do and not enough time.

I thought y'all were happy your team didn't do well. Something about wanting to get rid of y'all's coach or something.

And, yeah, FF can be quite involved. To maximize your weekly point output you need to know match ups (like, start anyone playing against the Houston Texans this season, our defense was horrible), weather, keep an eye on the injury reports (especially pass rushers and defensive backs to know which receivers would do well, and linebackers for running back advantages) and keep up with the waiver wire (mid season pick ups are usually key to any team's success).

It's fun if everyone has the same commitment level (like RPGs, I guess, char op types would be the hard core guys who know all the stats and match ups and good waiver pick ups, casual guys might not even notice their QB is injured), but it can be not at all fun if not everyone is paying attention. Some level of commitment is required from all participants or it falls apart quickly.

And, we started the league I was talking about while we were locked up. We all got out within a year of each other, so it wasn't too bad a transition (I was first out, so I hosted the game on NFL.com and we did roster moves through snail mail and phone calls - I had total control and came in fifth, so much for being in charge being an advantage!).

We are upset but we cant let the POMs (Brits know) it would make them too unbearable. We have to be good loosers so we can be fraken evil winners and rub their faces in it next time :-)

Thats where I would fall down, I would be the casual guy... then again the casual players can often have a bit of luck.

The least you'd have to do is keep an eye on injuries. Making sure the team you field is actually playing, and not out for the game (or the season), is usually the most anyone can ask.

And, yeah, luck will win a game or two, the rest is talent (players) and paying attention.

I don't think the Redskins can tell you who their quarterback is either, so you aren't missing out on much there.

I should thank the Stingers for taking Helt out for me, he had enough points to beat me had we met for a third time (I left a lot of points on the bench, actually).

But, you did win getting to have a deeper involvement with the football season, and all that goodness :-)

Yea, I know that feeling. Of course my laptop dying also made it harder to make last minute subs.:)

Indeed, congrats.

I won my two money leagues, so I'm happy. $750 = new DSLR Camera! Whoohoo!

I'm in the championship game of my one money league (the one I play with the guys I was locked up with), and I'll more than likely win that.

I tend to avoid players from teams I think will do well enough to sit players at the end of the season, and concentrate on players from teams that I think will be in the 9-7 to 7-9 range, specifically for playoff purposes. Since I know they won't be sitting anyone. Didn't work out so well this season, as mostly everything is sewn up, but they'll still play as some coaching jobs are on the line.

The other guy is going to have to do a few add/drops and play some second string guys as half his roster will either sit and rest or only play a half on Sunday.

Hello $500!

Eh, second place in my money league, by 1.55 points. Oh, well, $350 will do, I suppose.

Total season tally: 3 league championships, 1 second place finish, 3 middle of the pack teams. Not too shabby.

Looking forward to defending my Paizo title next year!

Wow, y'all kept a team active for me! 3-5, hmmm. First place team is 5-3. Six weeks to catch up. I think I can still make the playoffs.

Congrats. Even if I had started the best possible lineup, you still would have beat me. Oh well nothing wrong with 2nd place. ;)
