Hmm...some things don't seem to be working, like the tab completion for names. Not sure why. :( Will file a bug report.

If there's a delay on loading (and you're seeing a bright green chatroom), give it a moment to load things up (I've noticed this delay is a bit longer with IE 7). Any other weirdness, please let me know.

I noticed that for the list of names to the right, the ones near the bottom were all displaying the same color (teal on my screen), yet the colors WERE all different in the chat window.

Also, the "Promoting Goofing Off at Work since 2007" was flush left, and superimposed over the Title.

Lastly, towards the end of my time on, my ping had gone from 120-250 to a whopping 3000 ms, and my entries were not coming up....

Uh, you DID ask..... ;-)

The new chatroom version has a dynamic refresh, meaning that the server will refresh more frequently when it's busy, and less so when it's quiet. Whether this means more timeouts will occur we shall see.

Adam! Don't head towards the light! Completely clear out your cache & history, then try again. There may be a slight delay as it loads up, you should see a vile green, then the chatroom should load up.

Pathfinder Chat tonight 20:00 Paizo Standard Time, BUT.....

Be warned. At present, the technical experts inform me that it is a very bad idea to attend if you are using Internet Explorer. Anyone attending the chat using Internet Explorer can expect timeouts, to be unable to see comments at random intevals made by other persons in the chatroom, and to have all other manner of hideous catastrophes visited upon their heads on a regular basis. If you attend using Internet Explorer be prepared to have to hit the 'Refresh' option on a regular basis at the very least. I am informed that this is because Internet Explorer is not a top of the range browser and has difficulty handling something called 'javascripts'. Moreso, apparently, since the recent move of the Chatroom to a new Server home.

So, does Firefox work better? I am guilty of using IE7 exclusively. Firefox doesn't run some of my media players....

Jpegs are now uploadable and there's full frontal nudity in this chat room! None of it is female but come get you some!

Internet Explorer, I never had any trouble before...what gives?

Tobus, never had troubles myself with IE until the chat moved to the new server. After this, some users were just invisible to me and I wondered, who the other guys were talking to or what they commented on. No prob with Firefox though...

Just seen this thread. had i seen it earlier I would have recommended a Perl chat script. They are easy and work with everything as they are basic. But they lack many of the bells and whistles of java style chats. namely the autoupdate which personally gives me a headach for some reason.

That is exactly where I got it from, and it was the first thing that popped into my mind when chat was turned off.

Okay, here's the skinny:

The servers are fine, but the line said boxes sit upon has taken a dump. The sysadmin who usually has physical access to boxes is taking a well-deserved vacation. Trouble tickets issued, will update when I have more information.

Back up. There has been some periodic ISP issues at the servers' end of things. Presence and Gizmo have been looking into it.
