Good luck to everyone! :-)

Its a pain, I couldn't even get myself TO 500 yesterday. Perhaps tonight will find me writing much faster.

I made it to 1800 yesterday, going to try and do it again tonight.

Hooray for cowbows in Rome looking to score penicillin!

good luck to all, i backed of from NaNoWriMo both becauseI lack time (which is an excuse I know), and I want to finally finishing rewriting an story already edited to teh death, finish a collaboration, and finish an story that should have appeared in DA for halloween so... for every word i use in NaNoWriMo I deny this stories.

Doing ok so far (no writing today yet). I promised myself a Five Guys cheeseburger and fries if I make it through.

I am doing okay. I am not particularly happy with how I have progressed in my word count. This is my third year so I know what I need to do to stay focused. It just happened the beginning of November was really busy and now I am playing catch up. I can do it, I just wish I didn't have to.

3,000 words is a good goal and very reachable. I did much the same last year. Boy, I wish I could have done that this year.

Word count: 8,500.
Pretty much worked all last night trying to keep my buffer. Irony is cruel.
My big worry is that I'll run out of plot before I've met the 50,000 word cap thingy.

I started without a plot and still0 need to figure one out.

doing horribly, got of work 3 hours late the last two nights, and was only getting 800 words the first three. I have time off though and plan to be caught up soon. *ack*

Here's mine.

When character concepts you never get a chance to play take on a life of their own... :)

I was really behind but now I am very close to being caught up. Sitting at a total of over 10,000 words.

good job! take off the K and we could be tied!

Hey, keep it up guys.

I do this every year (this is year 5 for me) and for those wondering at the size of the project and how feasible it is, it's day 14 and I closed the day with over 45,000 words. It's possible and even likely I will finish the word count tomorrow... though the story is likely to continue for a while yet.

For those needing help to keep writing, I strongly recommend write-or-die or a communal write-in where someone is giving you leverage to help you get your word count in.

Write or die:

The idea is that you set a preset goal (in number of words or time) and until you meet that goal, nasty things happen if you stop typing for more than a few seconds at a time.

Hope those of you still working on novels are still getting the words out. Today should mark 30,000 words for those still trying to get to 50k by the end of the month.

I will not make he 50K unless the holidays provide for 24 hour writing. but considering I am writing every day that has less than 10 work hours in it, I am still considering myself to have won!

Good luck and keep at it all!

Seriously, Write or Die helps. I've been using it since you posted it up here, and I got my word count from 18,000 to 22,000, making up for the day before (in which I did hardly anything).

As of yesterday, I'm at 29,000 words and very excited!

I'm at 29k and some change. However I have all of next week off for the holidays (that and my job ends tomorrow, and I already made plans so I won't be able to start any new employment until the 30th) so I'll have little trouble catching up I think.

Just shy of 40k, should be able to crank out the last bit tomorrow!

Good luck!

Just remember, as they say, you have written more in a single month than most write in a lifetime! :P

Yay! Go Orthos! I just finished up 51k. This is my best NaNo completion time and word count yet! AND my mom is buying me a winner's T-shirt!
To everyone who hasn't won yet: keep it up! I know you can do it!

haha - in the past week I've gone from 3k to 25k.... not too shabby, but no where near enough...

50,342! YEAH!!!

And right at the very end of Chapter 3 too, could NOT have timed it better!

First of all: Congrats! 10k in a day is a remarkable achievement! The most I can ever manage is 5!

Second> o.0
Third chapter? *Choked voice*
:P

Yep, Chapter 3 of an estimated 73.

I got to 18k and realized the end was near. I guess my scope starting out wasn't epic enough...but here I am with a finished story (albeit 25k short of the goal), so I guess I've won anyhow. Next year I'm shooting for the grand saga.

Well, the point is to write it fast and get a novel down. If you did that, and only didn't manage to reach the word limit because you chose not to, it really isn't a loss at all. Grats.

Congratulations everyone, both those who surpassed 50k, and those who simply started - starting is the first and biggest step.

Congratulations everyone!

I was nearly (200 or so down) at the 10K mark my last night and thought OK another 20 minutes... I had my MC jump out of the window into the rain landing in the mud. This led to a splashing mess and frolicking good time and wouldn't you know 10000 even!

This turned out to be notes for an actual novel. Next years i will make the 50k!

Congratulations again everyone!

I really should stop and do this one of these days. I should.
