As inspired by the Jersey Devil thread,
What all kinda legendary critters has you shot in real life?
Any pointers?

I caught a coelocanth in Lake Okeechobee; they don't taste so good.
AND, it ate half my bass boat. I had to double tap it with a .45 automatic.
But it had 2 big ole 15 foot gators in it's gullet. They were goooood eatin'.

Oh, you lie like a rug, you dogfaced boy!

I once shot a bulette, but it kept coming at me. I ran away.

Total fabrification!!!

What's funny about that, wingnut?

Pay him no heed.
He insists that my mermonkey that I speargunned in the Gulf of Mexico is a taxidermic hoax.

I once shot a squonk, it was dark! I didn't know?

That's freakin scary!

Tobus Neth wrote:
Fixed.

I'm not much into hunting myself, but I ran into an ancient and grizzled thesaurus at the library once. As you can imagine, I checked out of there pretty quick.

Wow. Wasn't that the giant reptile that used flowery language to get out of dangerous situations? I thought it was extinct...

Aaaaah.... that ole' Thessalonian Babbling Death Lizard.
Extinct in the Jurassic my foot!

I once shot the Chupacabra just to watch him bleed.

True story.

I was hooked up on a blind date with a chupacabra in college once. She was a bit better looking than the one in Daigle's pics...not a lot, but a bit. She had better hair, and slightly better make-up. I did get to find out why she was nicknamed goatsucker. That was the pleasant surprise of the evening.

Has any of you guys ever shot one of them mongolian death worms?

Heathansson wrote:

Hmm...not sure...

Do they sometimes show up in tequila bottles? Cause if so, it's quite probable...

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path Subscriber)

Well, never hunted one of these critters, but I have been personally responsible for probably saving the lives of at least four tourists / exchange students over the years (including two Americans) by warning them about Drop Bears.

I saw the Mothman! He was blue and had big orange eyes!

Me and the hodag, we go waaay back. Went to elementary school together, true story.

Aww. Man. Them drop berrs are gnarley. Stabbin on you with their two thumbs like an iguanadon.

Arrr, I've sailed the seven seas, and seen strange MONSTERS, ha harr. But YE BE WARNED for if ye be huntin' the white whale, ye be huntin' DEATH ITSELF! I watched me own Cap'n go MAD from the hunt, and go down into the blackest depths. Arr, me mateys, shivver me timbers...

I think that someone is trying to kill me
Infecting my blood and destroying my mind
No man of the flesh could ever stop me
The fight for this fish is a fight to the death

White whale - holy grail

What remorseless emperor commands me
I no longer govern my soul
I am completely immersed in darkness
As I turn my body away from the sun

White whale - holy grail

Split your lungs with blood and thunder
When you see the white whale
Break your backs and crack your oars men
If you wish to prevail

This ivory leg is what propels me
Harpoons thrust in the sky
Aim directly for his crooked brow
And look him straight in the eye

White whale - holy grail

Wuddya shoot a white whale with?

Heathansson wrote:

Arr, rocket-propelled harpoons, matey. And laser beams. Lasers, arr.

Spoiler:
Oh yeah... and my roommate is a Sasquatch, but that's hardly remarkable here in the Pacific Northwest.

I'm curious to know the details of such hunting and where you store the trophies (if you store them at all). I love me a good troll-huntin' story!

In the interests of messageboard security, I am unable to divulge details concerning the holding and treatment of troll suspects. But rest assured, despite the fact that we assert that these suspects are not covered by the Geneva Conventions, nor by the US Constitution due the extreme danger these suspects pose the continued security of the messageboard, the human rights of these suspects are never violated and any allegations of rendition and torture are blown wildly out of proportion.

Thank you,

I am also gearing up for a prolonged expedition in search of the legendary Wild Bull-man from Milwaukee. This feral beast is a dangerous foe, and I do not expect many survivors.

All you'll find are koalas, and they're too adorable to hunt.

If anyone wants to check out a pretty good list of huntable cryptids, here you go:

BC Cryptozoological Society Cryptid Page

I am currently in pursuit of the Chinese Wildman, whom I plan to kill with my bare hands and teeth, because guns are strictly prohibited here.

Its true, there will be few survivors, and you shall not be among them.
