Good things:

At my new job (started it in July) I'm making more money, have better health coverage, have my own office, have more job security, and have more expenses covered.

Even better though, I'm able to not work on the weekends. It seems like there were entire years when I worked every single day. This weekend, Nerrat and I played four games of D&D Minis, went for a hike in a local bog, and he took swimming lessons. We haven't had time together like that for awhile.

Good for you, TD!

Just sent three revised chapters to my adviser...so I am REALLY looking forward to this kind of time. (Yeah, I know. Three chapters due at Mon. 9pm...my adviser is an awesome guy, but definitely an individual. -- Hey! That's also a good thing.)

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber)

My best friend finally got a job with the border patrol/customs agency. It's been at least two years of struggling with bureaucracy and waiting but he's shipping down to New Mexico for a few months at the academy and then over to Texas for the job.

I'm happy he's finally doing what he wants to do and quitting his job at the armored car company, but it breaks my heart a little that I won't get to see him nearly as much.

Good job. Thesis supervisors are supposed to be odd ducks. If they weren't, you wouldn't be able to share stories about them with you future supervisees (who will be rolling their eyes and thinking that the pot is calling the kettle black).

Good things:

1. I'm currently typing on my computer with a kitty on my lap. Why is this a good thing? Because earlier this summer I broke the end of the thing that supplies power to my computer. I broke it off in the computer. Two weeks I ordered the new power supply, and about five days ago I took apart my entire laptop to gain access to the <expletive deleted> little broken piece. And then I realized, when taking apart computers, you should be very, very careful about charting where the screws came from. So I've spent the last four days trying to get all the screws back in the right places. Good news..! It works!! However, when taking it apart I noticed two places where screws were missing, and now that it is back together, I have two extra screws.... hmm...

2. My internet is working again! For the past two weeks I've been browsing on my phone. Loading pages and typing posts on a phone is not that great long term. So not only can I use my laptop, but I can connect to the internets!

3. My Pharasma costume is coming along nicely despite some earlier issues with user error. However, I'm not sure if I will be able to wear it to PaizoCon. I'll have to check with the boss to see if I can get out of wearing my blue shirt for a day.

Also, I need a catchy title. Cosmo already has "Customer Servant."

It's just that your avatar looks grumpy.

Proposed new titles for Silkygreenbelly: "Customer Serf", "Customer Slave", "Costumed Customer Servant", "The Lady of Grave Customer Service", "Customer Service is Dead".

So...... you're saying my collection of CareBears and My Little Ponys wouldn't last long if I choose to display them on my new desk? :D

Erik Mona specifically commissioned a pair of artists to draw a picture of a zombie ripping the stuffing out of a carebear... I'm really not sure that the CareBears would be safe. :D

As to the ponies, it depends whether Cosmo's 'Bella Sara' activities are an indication of a general favourable disposition towards ponies on his part. Let's not forget that Cosmo was responsible for Sebastian's avatar. ;)

Should I mention my sense of humor really wants me to go buy a bunch of carebears and my little ponies just to watch any and all anti-cute coworkers squirm? ...Maybe I'll save that until later.
