Casual dismissal of the troll.

Andoran (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path Subscriber)

Comment that the thread has reached page 2. Further speculation on how many pages could be reached (ignoring fact that such speculation has previously taken place in thread).

Irrelevant statement about how funny/amusing/interesting the thread has become.

Witty rejoinder.

Attempt to veer thread back on-topic.

HOWLING, SPITTLE-LADEN VOWS OF HATRED AND MALICE! DECLARATION OF MURDEROUS INTENT! THREATENING WISHES FOR INTERNET-ORIENTED FIREARMS!

Osirion (RPG Superstar 2011 Top 32)

Comment about hope that you are the first comment on Page 2.

EDIT: Create edit notation, pointlessly note that person X beat you to it.

Express disdain.

Hope to be first on Page 3.

Rinse. Lather. Repeat.

Creates inappropriate metaphor, giving said metaphor universal application. Debates the meaning of "Penultimate" using an online slang dictionary.

Invocation of the All-Seeing Eye to delete the offensive post and ban the offender forever.

Previously dissenting posters unite in condemnation of troll.

...flaccid reassertion of board-wide homosexuality, repetitive slanderous remarks, uninteresting side commentary, thinly veiled cry for attention...

...sobbing retreat from message board.

Point by point reply to multiple posts offered. Request made to not bring up Nazis and to not slander people of any ethnicity. Extensive use of smileys where appropriate.

Simple thank you followed by niko-niko (^_^).

Use of "squee" and niko-niko, as appropriate. Staff member promises cookie.

Diplomatic response with biting undertone, particularly if in bad mood.

Final, possibly self-effacing, joke made to calm the thread.

Feigns superiority by mentioning that he plays a much better system than D&D.

Begins trash-talking about the troll after his exit.

Reminisces about previous Paizo trolls who met similar fates.

Concedes that troll was actually correct in statement, but his hostile delivery caused general attack.

Adds, "heh".

Hapless Internet Troll wrote:

Worked-up response to the effect that previous poster's accusations were baseless and a sign of poor education; unflattering remark on physical characteristics of previous poster's mother; assertation that "paizo says this" and that Wotc are hamfisted money grubbers; crude wordplay-based personal jibe at previous 4e related posters to stand up and say otherwise; clumsily worded hint that any who do so will be mercilessly flamed in an obscure thread that they will never read; inappropriate obscure pop-culture reference meant to be offensive to random board user not yet posting on this thread, but that isn't funny in the least as no-one else has heard of that show.

EDIT: Silent removal of pop-culture reference after RL observer points out that it's stupid and that the guy's name isn't spelt with an H anyway.

Missed thread when active and tries to revitalize by bringing up the same points.

Hollow agreement with popular contributor or staff.

Acronym proclaiming bodily prostrated revolutions atop carpeting concurrent with spasmodic vocalizations of mirth inducing spontaneous disconnection of gluteus maximus, appended with multiple repetitions of exclamatory punctuation indicating extreme degree of said mirth, coupled with a tacit comprehension by both poster and reader that neither bodily gyrations nor derriere-detachment are in actuality occurring, whilst the dearth of any useful commentary is traditionally forgiven in consideration of the poster's enthusiastic appreciation of overall humor of thread's context.

Laments inability to properly express tone / sarcasm in written form on the internet.

Is informed that ~sarcasm~ and ;-) are both valid forms of expression.

Expresses guilt that a fellow board member took time out to seriously answer a question meant in jest.

Due to time difference being only able to post late on thread.

Dismissing the inevitable nazi comparisons as being entirely inappropriate and being offended again by them.

Repeating the main points of the thread in a rambling post, then redecing and deleting it halfway thr

Minor threadjacking about still waiting for the latest issues of most beloved yet canceled magazines.

Major threadjack about favored Setting.

Stating to "wait and see" for 4th Ed.

Ending post with first name

Vague agreement with two other posters, while continuing the point even further.

Off-topic comment about something another poster mentioned.

Unwritten realisation that point of writing the post is just to appear in a nice-looking thread.

i.e. "Voting with wallet."

Resurrection of somnolent thread in order to reiterate personal bugbear, despite marginal connection to the thread topic, writing out again at length numerous deeply-felt yet minor issues that have already been posted and discussed multiple times in other threads.

Gets tired of lurking and adds personal opinions for 4E, pathfinder and original post out of feeling the need to contribute rather then having anything interesting to say. Fully expects everyone to dismiss it. Includes ironic self-referential statement meant ot be an attempt at humor, though fails miserably. Adds in praise for paizo.

Ignores topic while wildly declaring undying love for 4e followed by a feral spewing of vitriol at any poster who dares to criticize it. When accused of threadjacking, declares a new crusade on the vile heathen as spelling and grammar begin to degrade until the post ends in an unintelligible string of leetspeak.

Osirion (Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

Blithely inserts random statement insulting WotC, those who work there, and their families.

Random tangential statement totally unrelated to anything said in the thread.

Begins to discuss the random tangential statement because it is far more interesting then the original post.

scolds tangential statement as off-topic yet cannot help adding to the conversation about it.

Agrees incongruously, then continues the threadjack in earnest instead of starting a new thread, in order to conserve electron trees.

Osirion (Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

Witty rejoinder.

Silver Crusade (Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

Slings witty insult at Heathansson even though it has nothing to do with the thread.

Bemoans the threadjacking that has occurred.

Contributes further to the threadjack, prefacing the statement with "since we're off-topic anyway..."

Hits "print" on computer, cuts out CH's avatar, and sends it on a "spelunking" adventure.

Silver Crusade (Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

Continues threadjack on the "Snarky Threadjackers Thread" even though the damage is already done.

(Pathfinder Roleplaying Game Subscriber)

Neophyte/first-time poster mistakenly interpreting this thread as help forum for seemingly-irrelevant gaming product innocently asking a sincere heartfelt question of dire importance. But, despite having diligently used search function to the best of this tyrol's ability, is immediately mocked and derided by senior forum members, who have failed to come to grips with their banality snd self-importance.

Fails to post again and quits hobby.

Sarcastic thanks for the information, recommendation to post same thing on every thread imaginable. Inquiry about whether poster has heard of 4e and would like to comment on that subject as well.

Statement upholding the veracity of Godwin's Law.

Remark that poster has the right to share feelings too. Remark that WotC ought to be compared to Hitler. Question wondering about the meaning of Godwin's Law.

Half snarky remark that "you've just answered your own question."
(even though, secretly, I know that you were doing that to be ironic.)

Sarcastically mocks all other posters as inferior beings incapable of reason or coherent thought.
