I loved it. Dark and Gritty and Dystopian and injected a lot of today's societal issues into the mix. The way I like my Sci-Fi.
I wish it had more of that through the run. I loved the last season because everything was falling apart. The first season also had some more grit to it.
I know I'm being anal, but I really would've liked it better if they'd spent more time focusing on the miserable living conditions. It always annoyed me that they seemed to have a limitless supply of booze and even food (despite the fact they had been living on algae for multiple years).
I also wish they'd done more with the other ships in the fleet and given them some personality. I understand that it would've been expensive to do that given the set costs, but still, it would've been nice.
Plus, there was an abrupt tonal shift where the cylons went from "pure uncompromising evil" to "like us, but with circuits!"
True, but now watching Caprica, that tonal shift makes sense as we start to better understand their origin. I think the tonal shift probably correllated with the writers wanting to do the Caprica series ... which caused them to jump the shark a bit when they got to the finale.

That's a good point. It also seemed to correspond with them trying to inject more of the social issues/questions into the series, particularly with the New Caprica storyline. It's hard to set those up if you have a foe that is pure evil as opposed to flawed but well-intentioned (sorta).

Which also makes the Adama/Adams scenario a bit more interesting by having a neo-mafia family style background. Never pictured Joseph Adama this way from BSG when Will spoke about him, but I'm actually pleased that he's a conflicted character.

I guess everybody is distracted from the final four.
I'm watching Caprica first, then going back to see BSG.
So 2 of the girls I work with are going to get fired for give booze to minors. They were caught in the men's bathroom with them and a 5th of Jack. The girls clothing was loose and falling off. HAH!! Stoopid whores. (You'd have to know these girls, but they totally deserve it.)

I've never seen any of the rebooted series; I'm only familiar with the old Tom Baker stuff.
You must watch it!
The new stuff is great. David Tennant replaced Peter Davidson as my favorite Doctor.
Wow Mac... Peter Davidson is my favourite Doc as well! Don't tell me Pat Troughton was your second fav, 'cause that would start to get freaky! ;)
I liked Tennant, but he sits at number 4 for me (after PD, PT and Christopher Eccleston)
On a related note: I bought and watched Destiny of the Daleks the other day for the very first time! I have no idea how, but I missed a chunk of Tom Baker stuff when it was on TV out here originally (I missed Key to Time and the start of Lalla's Romana) and when they re-screened every Who story for the 40th Anniversary, they left out all but 2 Dalek stories due to copyright issues.
1) David Tennant (because thats the one my wife liked and she SET time aside to watch the show with me)
2) Peter Davidson my dad has/had all of his episodes on tape and we watched them when I was YOUNG.
3) Christopher Eccleson (see Tennant's explanation)
4) Patrick Troughton is my 4th recently. I've only seen a couple of his episodes, but I REALLY want to see more.
1) Tom Baker
2) David Tennant
3) Peter Davidson
4) Colin Baker (who was greatly redeemed by the Big Finish audios)
I love that show. It's too bad so many people seem to be avoiding it due to the bad taste that the finale of BSG left in their mouth...
Zoe topless holding a biten apple was my laptop wallpaper until we went to visit my woman's family and given the young children, I had to switch it over to something neo-Giger inspired that lacked alien phalluses. :P
I couldn't get into BSG. I tried, but it didn't catch me. Was it good?
I really enjoyed it. Plus I got me a thing for Katee Sackhoff...
Ya know, I agree with you on many things, just not that one. :)

You're not going to wait until Caprica is completed before watching BSG, will you? May take several years; network willing.
Nah. I will come to a point where I have X number of days off, and nothing pressing, and then I'll go nuts and watch the whole thing at one go.

Yeah I get that a lot... all my friends are like "What about Six and Boomer" and I'm all "yeah they're nice, but I wants me some Starbuck action!" :D

I think more people should post in the congratulations blog thread. That's what I think.

We do that with Supernatural. How did I not know that show existed?
Oh man I LOVE Supernatural. I honestly thought that the show would start to go downhill with Season 5, but so far there have been 2 eps which easily rank in my Top 10 for the series...
And I want some of those audio's dangit. I can't find them anywhere in RL. :(
If it weren't for the audios, then Colin would have been lower. The audios definitely didn't redeem Sylvestor McCoy's Doctor, though.
The only good this McCoy's doctor did was die in the Movie.
And don't get me started on that either. BLEAH
Protoplasmic Master or half-human Doctor: Which was the most egregious liberty?
Half-human doctor
At least there's some comics I have that explain that away. But still. Half-Human? Ugh.

Thanks, Taig. You know some Jive turkey is gonna start up another thread instead of the obvious one, and then Vic will make their thread the thread and delete mine. Much appreciated.
There he goes, one of god's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some type never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
