I fear what Nolan will do to Superman. I don't want "dark, brooding Superman".
See, I don't think he'll do that. Nolan and his crew are very creative and really seem to understand the characters with which they work. If anything, I think he'll take it up a notch in the action department, maybe even doing a villain other than Lex Luthor and not having it suck.

+1

Just so long as he isn't TOO boyscoutish or Captain Marvel-like in his cheerfulness.

Agreed. We need a Superman who can be tough but still a nice guy.

But Luthor IS the Superman villain. granted, he's been done to death and I would like to see another villain (Darkseid? Doomsday? Prankster?), but he's like the Joker. EVERYONE who isn't in the loop for comics will want to see Luthor.

So last night was awesome. The Globetrotters are as good as ever and as an extra treat, they had two of the original Globetrotters there for a ceremony. It was the 78th anniversary of the first Globetrotters game.

Who is on the team nowadays? Any legacy players?

No, although Meadowlark Lemon is their coach. The main squad is composed of Hi Rise, Big Easy, Flight Time, Dizzy and Handles. Then they have a couple of backup players who's names I don't entirely remember. Flight Time and Big Easy were on the latest installment of the Amazing Race.

The Washington Generals. Although, I learned from a book I used to have about the Globetrotters that the Generals do not always lose.

The only problem I have with your statement is that if you start off this blunt, noses will be broken. You should also define what you mean by special privileges, because that is probably another point of contention in your argument.

Or, hell, e-mail me your paper. Maybe you go into greater detail there than you can get into here.

Sadly, all I have left is the hard copy. My digital copy was on a computer that died. My daughter decided that the CD Rom was a cookie warmer.

The beginnings of political debate. Harlem Globetrotters. Something about feminists lacking a sense of humor, which I think is a point that's been bandied about since the early 80s at the very least. I'm pretty sure the thread delved into cannibalism at some point, but I think I missed that part.

But it is! See? Shoves in an oatmeal raisin cookie Nice and warm! So warm it's...sparking and smoking. It's not letting go of the cookie yet, but when it does, I'm sure it'll be edible!

Well Erik and Lisa announced they are running off to Borneo to open a tropical resort for gamers, Meanwhile Scott discovered that Jenni was really a mutant penguin trying to undermine human society. Then Jenni discovered Scott was really a mutant leopard seal trying to undermine penguin society. However, they both decided that their love was too strong for them to betray the other. Oh wait that was the pepperoni pizza induced dream I had last night.

See, I take that comment like the other one: as not referring to us. Quasi-funny...stupid "funny" does not apply. If they don't get the funny, I am not responsible. Some people thought Dean Swift really thought eating babies was a good idea. If you have to explain humor, it doesn't work, so either they get it or they don't. I observe it, it passes me by. It tells me things about people, it tells me things about how I am likely perceived, I watch it drift down stream and out to sea. Buh-bye.

Crazy is a funny thing: it never sees the crazy on the other side. So, for example, some people can see that Rush Limbaugh or Glenn Beck is crazy, but not that there are crazy female professors on campus doing the things that Heathy was talking about last night: rule of thumb, etc. Or vice versa. I think that crazies tend to create each other or are opposing products of a larger system. Is it an accident that Hitler/Mussolini popped up on one side and Stalin/Mao on the other during the same period?

Yeah, the people who are complaining won't understand it and realize the point. You're right not to worry about it.

Brainiac would be nice but that was what the original 3rd movie was to have been. You know the one with Richard Pryor.

Mister Mxyzptlk was done real well in the Superboy series and would make a great reboot show if done right.

Apokolypse is being done right now in Smallville. Everytime that show jumps the shark they try again.

They really should reintroduce Supes in the Next Batman film. Have him flying around like a god and want to take Bats out. Then his secret is found out and Bas and he have a little sit down where Bats tells him "how it is."

Of course if they take my view then the Next Batman movie will be with the "joker" in Arkham and his protégé Harley Quinn is doing copy cat crimes.

Or Clay face which has never been done on the big screen.
