Greetings Fellow Paizonians -

My Children are both scouts. Bleys and Dashiell are both selling Trails End Popcorn this year. We are selling Popcorn to send them off to Summer Camp and help pay for other activities through out the year. The profits from the sales go to the Boy Scouts in Troop 704 and other troops and boys that are selling Popcorn.

By ordering online; you pay via the site and they deliver to you soon. You do not pay shipping or taxes.

Please keep in mind that if you don't like Popcorn, we have options where you can send $25 or $40 worth of Popcorn products to our Military.

The price of the popcorn items are the price you pay.

Any help you can give us would be appreciated. We have to personally come up with $310 for summer camp alone. And that doesn't count all the other camp outs and activities. This is our Major Fundraiser of the year.

Thanks a bunch!,

Here is the site for the Boys' Popcorn sales as well as their personal ID Numbers.

Trails End
Bleys--4502024
Dashiell--4502086

Thank you for any and all support.

Jason

Just a reminder.

The link in your original message doesn't seem to work.

How about this one?

Why thank you. I had not realized it did not function.

Edit: Also the sale "blitz" ends on Nov. 29th but orders done on the website can be made at any time.

Thank you all.

Mmmm.....popcorn. I remember the good old days, when mom would break out the popcorn machine, pour in a cup of kernels and some cooking oil, then let it go. Good times....

The basic popcorn tin is $10 and could give you that home made Popcorn smell.:) Hint Hint Hint.

Ha! I used to sell Boy Scout popcorn when I was a lad. I'd buy some of your son's, CJ, but I already bought some this year from my nephew.

If you've never had Boy Scout popcorn, you're missing out on the best game in town. It puts Orville Redenbacher to shame.

Probably not so good drizzled with brain sauce... except to you.

Sorry, this is a bit off-topic, but how do you pronounce "Bleys"?
Is it "Blaze," kinda like Blaise Pascal? Or "Blize," like Captain Bligh made plural?
I always wondered.

It is a varient spelling of Blaise and as such is pronounced Blaze.

I thought so! Thanks.

P.S. "Dashiell" is a freakin' awesome name, too. I'm a huge fan of the unusual-names-that-aren't-just-made-up-on-the-spot thing. "Miles" is another good one. What I can't stand are when people do things like the super-goofy spellings (my cousin: "My son's name is Nicholas, but it's spelled 'Nickklus'!), or the last-names-are-first-names thing ("This is my son MacGregor! And my daughter Johnson!").

Aw, man... I got no money. I sold that stuff for five years, and I gotta say it's REALLY EXPENSIVE.

Especially when you work in an office with like 300 people, roughly all of whom except you have a large litter of kids, and all of whom assume that it goes without saying that every other employee is obligated to buy popcorn, girl scout cookies, etc. from each and every one of those kids... I've had people actually stop me in the parking lot and demand an explanation as to why I didn't buy $60 worth of disgusting caramel-coated popcorn from them on behalf of their daughter that day (This is the same person from whom I bought $20 worth of girl scout cookies I didn't want, on behalf of one of the other daughters, by the way). You'd think they'd at least sell something I'd want to eat, like maybe jerky or cashews...

P.S. Absolutely none of that venting is directed at you, CJ. You had the decency to ask, in a separate thread no less, rather than interrupt other threads to demand. Thank you!

Yes, I was afraid of people taking it as spam and well I really did not want to alienate myself more then I do already.

As for expense let me point out that we have a $10 basic pop it yourself tin. Which happens to be my favorite type. Although money is tight for me right now and I don’t expect everyone to have money to just throw around.

Also this is not so much a demand as a beg. : )

On another note I also gave both boys rather normal middle names. Nicholai and James. So my oldest if he did not like his name could have gone with Nick or Nicky and my youngest had the option of DJ or James or even Jim or Jimmy. He prefers Dash, go figure.

Just an update but as of now there has been no sales yet. Of course we can't go door to door until Tomorrow and I am sure they will get a few sales then. Plus my oldest will be doing sales outside the Lowes store. Where they tend to do a brisk business, not only in Popcorn sales. But also with Candy Bars.

Somedays.................

So today is the big blitz at the local Lowes and the surrounding neighborhoods. I have to work so I will not have to sit out in front of a tool store with 8 teen age boys. Nor will I have to walk several miles door to door with a bunch of ten year olds. Lucky me. I will however update everyone that we still have no sales on the websites. Though I am hopefull.

Have a nice day everyone and if the weather is like it is here go outside and enjoy it.

So the boys have done day one of the pop corn blitz and have sold about $90 each. Some at Lowes and some door to door.

You know, I feel bad for the poor people who, have to read my status updates on Facebook and Twitter ect… Because like this thread it is all BUY POPCORN. Thank you to all who have given your support. It will be over soon. :)

Oh and once again Yummy Yummy Popcorn is for sale!!

Andoran (RPG Superstar 2012 Top 16)

I donated some to the military. I had to flip a coin to decide which of your sons to apply the credit to. :)

Thank you so much for your support Taig.

So far the boys have totaled:

Bleys 2 orders for 87.95 and has earned 26.38 for the Troop

Dashiell 1 order for 93.90 and has earned 28.17 for the Pack

Once again thank you for those of you who have sent your support. You can still Make orders until the 29th of this month.

Operation Popcorn

Trail's End sends popcorn treats to the U.S. Military via Support Our Troops on behalf of the Boy Scouts of America.

This fall, Scouts can offer two levels of military donations - $25 and $40 - to consumers across the country. When consumers purchase this option, Trail's End will send a variety of popcorn treats to U.S. Soldiers and families.

The $25 and $40 donations are available to consumers on the take-order form and online.

Trail's End ships popcorn to U.S. Soldiers stationed in Afghanistan and Iraq, all other U.S. Military Bases overseas, domestic U.S. Military Bases, and families of U.S. Soldiers.

So the weather has turned. as such, the boys will not be doing a door to door Blitz. Which while it will keep them warm (and my wife is doesn't want to walk in the cold) it also won't give them any sales. So once again I must send out a call for help from you fine folks here on the boards and request you go to the website and check out what they have to offer.

Still doing sales for popcorn. We will also being doing a bake sale this Saturday. Dad here is lucky because I have to work Saturday. But I still hope they make several sales.

I have been holding off on the spam on facebook for this. Very hard. Sales have been rough but it is the economy stupid.

The Bake sale went well. as far as I know. Though my youngest son threw a fit to be able to help even though it was only for the Boy Scouts and not the Weblos. We are however still asking for any sales on the websites we can get. So if anyone knows someone who might want some good quality Popcorn the link above will help.

The standard sales time is now over. However sales can still be done online at trails end

In fact you can make purchases all year long.

Trails-End.com is offering FREE Standard Shipping on orders of $50 or more through December 17. Trail's End products are great snacks for holiday entertaining and they also make great gifts. You can include a gift message with their purchase, and anything ordered on or before December 17 will still arrive in time for Christmas.

"Is your boy scout popcorn made with real boy scouts?"

(and yes, I have asked scouts this face to face. Sadly they didn't get the joke.)

Sadly no it is not made with real Boy Scouts. Instead we use stand-ins from a few small south american countries. They are cheaper and reproduce faster. Plus we need the scouts to sell the popcorn. Although if online sales increase we may return to the old method.

Damn outsourcing is killing this country. ;)

Garydee wrote:

Yes, but the economy is bad right now, what can you do?

To quote my two scouts "it is still the best popcorn in the world"

Archived already... Just wanted to let everyone know that you can still purchase all year long. Also January 19 is national Popcorn day. So it gives you another excuse to make a purchase or two.

Went on long walk with my son and have just now come back in. It is getting real cold outside again. They are saying a nice covering of sleet and snow. Yippee. So now I get to drive across the city for a boy scout party for him being one of the only cubs who made sales. And the only one who did any online sales at all. Boy am I worn out. We walked for almost 3 hours. I just didn't notice the time passing.

Thank you once again those of you who choose to support our men and women in uniform.
