I was organizing my home office earlier and going through my miniatures and noticed my Grimloks....
Why, if these brutes are blind, do they were clothing over their private parts?

Not long before 3ed came out, there was a Dragon article that talked about monsterous humanoids for PCs... Grimlocks were presented as one of the races and I actually quite liked the take on it. They had brutish tendencies, but were a bit more urbane. They had an appreciation for fine things as well. Being blind, their senses of smell and touch are greatly increased and they love nice fabrics, artwork that incorporated smells, and things like that. It was a pretty far cry from the normal take on Grimlocks which are mostly just not as stinky troglodytes or Time Machine-esque Morlocks. Since there are LOTS of cavern dwelling primitive sword fodder to choose from, I liked them in this altered capacity.
Maybe Grimlocks are self-conscious about size. It's bad enough they are going to get slaughtered and looted - they don't want adventurers laughing at them as well.
Lord Flasheart: Enter the man who has no underwear. Ask me why.
Lieutenant George: Why do you have no underwear, Lord Flash?
Lord Flasheart: Because the pants haven't been built yet that'll take the job on!
