As for good comedy to come out of Hollywood since Team America...
Judd Apatow has made a few classics. 40 Year Old Virgin, Knocked Up, and Superbad were all very funny.
In much the same vein, Juno was a fantastic film .
Other titles... Ummm... Borat? Although I guess that's Kazakstan, rather than Hollywood...
The King of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters is a documentary that is really funny. REALLY, really funny.
These are just some movies from off the top of my head. So... yeah. There are a lot of good comedies out there.
I manage a movie theatre . . .I can say with all sincerity that when I quit (in May, yeah!!!) it will be one of the better days of my young life. Hollywood produces more crap than I thought humanly possible.
There are so many bad movies out there, I cannot even begin to tell you. The worst part is that new bad movies keep lining up.
That being said, if you are looking for a good laugh, I too must recommend Superbad.
The problem is, comedy is wildly subjective. For instance, I have yet to see a single funny movie listed in this thread. As I told my wife this weekend, “Dane Cook and Will Ferrell are redefining comedy these days. It used to mean funny…”
Personally, I really liked Fido. Best comedy I’ve seen in a while, though I didn’t laugh once while watching it. Good dry humor.
I quite enjoyed the 40-Year Old Virgin, though it was partly I took my now-wife (then a platonic friend) and she was 40 at the time. How I laughed!
But even then, I can't think of any movie I have seen in years that was really that funny, including the above and the movies mentioned (assuming I have seen them - don't know about Juno or Anchorman).
As a Brit, and with humour being a peculiarly cultural thing, a lot of American movies are OK but have a soft, squishy centre which ultimtely makes them feel a bit flabby and sentimental - Judd Apatow is a particular offender there. It is, of course, very hard to sustain comedy for the whole length of a movie - the Naked Gun movies were an hour and a bit only for a reason.
Harold and Kumar go to White Castle is REALLY funny. One of my favorite recent comedies.
Clerks 2 also had me hurting from laughing so hard.
Taladega Nights is also good for a few laugh.
40 Year Old Virgin starts funny but falls apart and stinks once he gets a girlfriend.
Havent seen Superbad yet, but there are plenty of people who crucify me for it because its supposedly great.
And I also saw Fido....good stuff. And your right its dry humor so no laugh out loud moments.
Borat is like 90% not funny. But that 10% will kill you from being so hysterical. :)
Edit: Oh yeah...DODGEBALL!!! That movie is hillarious!
Why has no one mentioned the comedic masterpiece that was Meet the Spartans? Come on! They're Spartans, like from that movie 300, but they're dancing!
Seriously, though, I think there have been a number of great comedies over the past few years - Erik and Cosmo have pretty much covered them.
Okay, as stupid as the movie looks, I would have gone to see if if you did the press release for it. "They're spartans. They're dancing. Meet the spartans. In theatres friday!" I would have put down 10 bucks to watch that.
I will assume you are using 'Hollywood' the general film industry sense, becase some of these will be from sources other than LaLa Land.
Clerks 2 was lots of fun (and watching Rosario Dawson jiggle when she danced was nice).
Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz were hysterical.
I just watched Reno 911! Miami last night and there were several bits I found funny, but I like Thomas Lennon a lot (have ever since Viva Variety!). I also have to admit that I found 'Balls of Fury' pretty funny.

If you're a fan of the Reno 911! crew, do yourself a favor and try to track down The State. It's classic.
I'll say Knocked Up was the funniest movie in the last 5 years or so. Then The 40 Year Old Virgin and Superbad, all great movies. Clerks II was really good Rosario Dawson plus Kevin Smith and the rest of the Clerks crew!!! Whats not to love, ok there is a bit with a donkey...it's still funny, but make sure others are laughing before you do...
Also not really a full comedy, but Juno is funny and amazing. It was a great movie and would recommend it to everyone.

I'll have to say that Juno was amazing as well. But hey, I'm a canuck like the main actress, so I'm biased.
As for a movie that hasn't been said yet, one of the funniest and saddest movies I saw in the last while was Lars and the Real Girl. It was the oddest mix of both comedy and tragedy I've ever seen, while making me laugh even when I was crying.

I seriously doubted that there would be something to top Shawn, but Hot Fuzz had it in spades, IMHO. And I love zombies. Well, not in that way, but you know what I mean...

By comparrison to world police they were poor quality.
Shawn of the Dead and hot fuzz were brit films. as great as hot fuzz was, there are no Holywood films to reach the level of Team America: World Police.
As th Hot Fuzz-the best bit was when he is accosted by an old farmer with a shotgun and kicks the teeth out of them.
40 yr. Old Virgin, Shawn of the Dead and Hot Fuzz = movies I liked, the rest were funny, but not enough that I finished watching any of them.
And Borat, that was worth it.
Yeah Shaun and Hot Fuzz were both excellent.
40 Year Old Virgin was pretty good, as was Borat if for nothing else than for watching some of the stupid things people will do/say/put up with.
Superbad was funny, but not to the level that everyone hyped it up to be (I only just watched it a couple of weeks ago).
Knocked Up to me wasn't that funny. Sure it had some funny bits in it, but on the whole it was pretty poor (funnywise).
Uhm. Borat made me really sad. It highlighted all the s#!+ in the world and that's funny? Granted, there were moments where I giggled but overall, I really didn't like it.
All of Judd Apatow's recent flicks have been great. Superbad is my favorite, mostly because the kid that plays Evan reminds me of my brother. And the cop duo was ridiculous.
Have you seen Supertroopers? Thats one of my all time favorite comedies.
