Okay... The thread on the Dragon board about the picture of Lidda in the final issue got me thinking...
Who would you consider the best looking of the iconic characters?

Depends whose drawing them.

Definitely depends largely on the artist since Wayne Reynold's hasn't supplied an unattractive image yet. But, from what I've seen so far ... Merisiel

Which iconics? 3.5 D&D or Pathfinder?
And on that note, am I the only one who thinks Mialee is pretty fugly?

I don't really dig that many of the 3.0/3.5 D&D iconics. The Paizo ones are/were good, though I'm not a tremendous fan of the ranger or the monk. I dig just about all of the Pathfinder ones, however, and the art does make me want to play as those characters.

No. She's hideous. I cringed when I realized I had to order a picture of her for the final (print) issue of Dragon. I've never seen an illustration of the horse-faced elf that looked even marginally not-ugly. :\

The 3.0/3.5 is what I was thinking of, but it need not be limited to them, I suppose.

I found it amusing how Vadania the druid got cuter and cuter in each successive picture. If you compare her pic from the PH with those in the Complete series, for example, the difference is stunning.

The picture of her in the Class Acts: Divine Article about the Plant Companions in Dragon #357 was VERY Cute.
I also have a Queation regarding the Dragon/Dungeon Iconics: I have seen pictures of the (obviously) but other than Tyralandi Scrimm I have absolutely no idea who each of them are. Is there a list somewhere (or preferrably stats) of all of these Iconics? Maybe that could be a last hurrah in one of the Dungeon Supplements that will eventually be released; final stats for all of the Iconics?
And finally back to the original thread question: I like that Star Knife Throwing Priestess of Desna (although I am not sure at this stage if she is actually an Iconic or just a funky pic from the Core Beliefs: Desna Article, or whatever the Pathfinder Core Beliefs will be called).

It's a half-elf/half-centaur. LA +1.

I warned her. I said, "Mialee, I know you're a wizard, not a sorcerer, but charisma is not a dump stat. Trust me. You'd think all those no-chin, cross-eyed, snaggle toothed min/maxed characters would make you guys think twice, but noooo. You're not 'gruff and mysterious', you're ugly. Damn ugly. The lot of you."
That said, I like the fighter on Pathfinder #1, Valeros. Saddle up!

Here is to hoping that the iconic elf image isn't some strange experiment to make elves look more "otherworldly" like it was last time. Mialee definitely isn't an attractive elven female. I think the best she ever looked was in "Scourge of Worlds."
There has been a wide range of pictures of the various iconics over the years, but I think on average, I have to say I think Lidda has had the largest number of attractive pictures.
Hell, even "feral" Lidda from the Player's Handbook II is kind of hot.

Y'know, that "Mialee as a mercenary" pic in PHB2 isn't half bad. I'm in the Lidda camp, though - especially after that much-discussed new drawing.

I've got to go with Mitra the Shaper - especially the Wayne Reynolds illustration where she's blasting some undead...

Yup. No Photoshop. She looks just as unnerving from other angles. I think I'll make her a Blade Singer.

Make her a crenshar. Having her face peel back could only help her.

The painting by Dorian-X on the cover of the 2E D&D Complete Set on CD ROM. This is one hot babe, and about as Fantasy RPG as you can get, in more than one way. I can't get a picture to post, even in a "Spoiler". Bummer. If you can find it online, take a gander and then tell me you have something better, 'cause if you do, I wanna see it.

I've told a couple of special women that I'd go to hell and back for them, but I'd go to hell and set up kip there for Fierna (BoVD 152). Is that wrong? Not an iconic adventurer, I know, but I've never thought much of them.

She's creepy. I'll have to make a villian who looks like that.
I've always been partial to Vadania (the one S. Wood drew, not the ones R. Spencer has drawn). I like Lidda too (again, when she's drawn by someone other than R. Spencer).
I used to stare at pictures of Mialee for hours trying to figure out what the hell was wrong with her. She is one funny looking elf!
