Kind of disappointed, I was waiting for them to fire up the Large Hadron Collider which would unleash an army of Spider Monkey men from another dimension. But instead civilization is ending with a market meltdown and credit crunch.

The movies lied to us!!! What happened to the zombie apocalypse or machine uprising???

On a lighter note what Fantasy/Sci-Fi end of civilization scenario would you prefer to survive thru given a choice?

Happy Friday

I was tempted to start a thread like this myself, glad to see it's already here. My contribution is this:

That's great, it starts with an earthquake, birds and
snakes, an aeroplane and Lenny Bruce is not afraid.
Eye of a hurricane, listen to yourself churn - world
serves its own needs, dummy serve your own needs. Feed
it off an aux speak, grunt, no, strength, the Ladder
start to clatter with fear fight down height. Wire
in a fire, representing seven games, and a government
for hire at a combat site. Left of west and coming in
a hurry with the furys breathing down your neck. Team
by team reporters baffled, trumped, tethered cropped.
Look at that low playing. Fine, then. Uh oh,
overflow, population, common food, but it'll do to Save
yourself, serve yourself. World serves its own needs,
listen to your heart bleed dummy with the rapture and
the revered and the right, right. You vitriolic,
patriotic, slam, fight, bright light, feeling pretty
psyched.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

Six o'clock - TV hour. Don't get caught in foreign
towers. Slash and burn, return, listen to yourself
churn. Lock it in, uniforming, book burning, blood
letting. Every motive escalate. Automotive incinerate.
Light a candle, light a motive. Step down, step down.
Watch your heel crush, crushed, uh-oh, this means no
fear cavalier. Renegade steer clear! A tournament,
tournament, a tournament of lies. Offer me solutions,
offer me alternatives and I decline.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel fine.

The other night I dreamt of knives, continental
drift divide. Mountains sit in a line, Leonard
Bernstein. Leonid Brezhnev, Lenny Bruce and Lester
Bangs. Birthday party, cheesecake, jelly bean, boom! You
symbiotic, patriotic, slam bug net, right? Right.

It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it.
It's the end of the world as we know it and I feel
fine...fine...

I was at least hoping for a micro black hole or something. Maybe we will still get lucky and the magnetic field has drawn a giant asteroid towards Earth and only Bruce Willis can save us.

I like the "all technology fails simultaneously and mankind is thrust back into the dark ages".

One Problem.... It Broke...So we never got to witness the power of the fully armed and operational Large Hadron Collider.

Well it looks like the end will have to wait until Monday.

Smoke em if you got them!!!

Personally I have always been fond of the mutanigenic plague. Although the rogue planet hurtling between the Earth and the moon holds a warm spot in my heart.

Well, if oil prices had stayed high as the rest of the market tanked, we'd be on the cusp of The Road Warrior scenario.

The LHC did indeed create a tiny black hole, but luckily Robert DeNiro was there to plug it. Bless him.

I think they Sent This little guy to Plug it up.

Or Maybe This Guy.

The LHC caused the recent market crisis. It's the butterfly effect. Run a few atoms is a circuit and halfway around the world the financial system collapses.

Now, this is making sense.

How about this scenario:

It broke, because the only universe left with folks that can observe and comment is a universe where the machine broke down before actually creating the black hole and sucking us all in. Perhaps millions of alternate Earths were destroyed today ..

OOOOEEEEOOOOOUUUUUUU

Question is.... Are we or they better off?

hmmmmmm

I'll choose life until forced to do otherwise. Plenty of time to go for a spin on the Karmic Wheel later.
