SOCCER SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!

Go Bills!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:)

I disagree mostly, it is a lot of fun to play.

As a spectator it is extremely frustrating. Due to the fact that you have a lot of scoreless or tied games....then there is the penalty shoot out. Why bother playing...(Its like going on a hot date full of lots of promise then nothing happening...and going home for a "penalty shoot out"). Its probably why the fans get so fractious.

Now American football: is interesting to watch because its like a game of chess with living pieces. But there is so many stoppages it doesn't flow as fast as it should.

Australian Rules Football: is super fun to play and is best watched at the venue. On TV it looks scrappy....

Rugby Union: my favourite game can be so good to watch one game and so boring the next - Its like they invited rules lawyers to invent some of the most arcane and bizarre rules then wrote them in ancient Sumerian.
I love the game though...

Rugby League: Should be better than union its fast simple easy to understand its exiting but its got no soul - its too corporate....

Yes, as in eliminated.

Awww, someone doesn’t like the offside trap. The thing is, the offside trap can really back fire on you.

Go Cowboys! Let’s see how they stack up against the Eagles.

I couldn't believe it, last night my Panthers pulled one off against the Chargers - and without Steve Smith.

How does that happen??

Go Eagles! I too am interested to see the match-up between them and the Cowboys.

And poor Tom Brady, so many sad Patriots fans in the office today. (Mwahaha!)

I have to disagree with you there. I enjoy American Football and Soccer. I believe Soccer has never caught on here in the states because it is not high scoring enough. Hockey may be low scoring too, but you have fights. You know…'cause we miss our coliseum and lions.

i gave soccer a chance when we hosted the world cup in '94. watched the wole thing with my brazillian friend. soccer almost had me, then they decided the whole enchilada with penalty kicks. penalty kicks. haven't watched a match since...

the eagles beat a REALLY bad team yesterday. the cowboys beat a team many predicted to make the playoffs. i don't see the eagles doing much against big D, frankly...

We shall see, you never know if the Cowboys will have an opportunity to pick up some more criminals to add to their roster...

I think the biggest complaint against soccer is the gamesmanship...the diving and then writhing on the ground to get a foul or get the opponent a yellow or get a penalty kick. Then, as soon as they spray on some 'magic water' the player is up like nothing. This seems very frequent in World Cup play, less so in EuroCup or any of the A-leagues (Englan, Spain, Italy, Germany).

{this is my biggest complaint against the NBA too, btw with all the recent flopping going on...hmmm}

In football, if you get injured, there's crunching bones and tearing ligaments and you get carted off. Linemen play with broken bones.

I like soccer, I love football. I used to play rugby (and love to watch but we don't get s%#~ for games where I live).

what about the colombian defender who was killed after kicking the ball into his own team's net while playing the US team?

This is what sucks about being part of the NFC East, we're the only team to fall short of the SB win. (Damn those cheating Patriots...)

Is that a halfling warcry?

Yeah...so.....

UTEP outgained Texas and had more than 400 yards against the #10 ranked team in the country. UTEP had a 5.4 yard rushing average and more takeaways. Utep moved the ball well. Utep had more first downs. Utep had 12 minutes more in time of possession.

UTEP lost by 29 points. Who said football made sense? I wish the Longhorns the best for the rest of the season and hope that UTEP can at least beat SMU and Rice. Go Miners! (Sigh)

Callous Jack wrote:

I would say go Rams but thats just not going to happen with loser Linny at the helm. God I hope he gets fired so the Rams can stop being the doormats of the NFC.

I am hoping for the Whiners or Cards to win the NFC west anyone but the chickenhawks.

GO PATRI ...errrr nevermind

Qadira (RPG Superstar 2008 Top 6, Contributor)

Ducks win after a miserable first half! Went into the locker room 20-6 after a last-second field goal, dominated the second half to tie it up at 23-23 after a missed field goal from the Boilermakers, won in second OT.

It's a good weekend to be a Duck.

The Ducks played well today. I just hope you guys don't lose any more quarterbacks. You've had some rotten luck the last two years.

Heh. Actually not much of a Pats fan, or a football fan in general.

The monkey ducks as dozens of beer bottles fly at him

And I say again, Go Redskins! That was awesome!

The Panthers broke their 4-game Home-opener losing streak yesterday against da bay-ers. Woo-hoo! It may not be another mediocre season after all!

The Niners are 1 and 1. That is their best start in 5 years or more.

The way the Detroit Lie-Downs are playing...the 49ers are soon to be 2-1.

UGH.

Another LOOOOONG football season.

Don't count Detroit out yet. The Niners found a way to lose to the Cards, after all.

Don't get down on your Lions yet. Remember how bad the Giants looked after the first two weeks last year? It's a long season.

Hey, CJ, too bad we can not set up video conferencing for tonight’s game. Have a cold one in my name and I will do the same for you.
