Shiny's post is worrysome . . . I don't like the tone of finality and defeat embedded in the wording.
I truly hope that everything is ok . . . and this turns out to be something as minor as a tiff with his parents that will quickly blow over.

I am f**#ing sick and tired of being jerked around by people in so-called positions of power.
I'm generally a nice guy. Sure, I'm opinionated, but I let other people have their say. And though I dress like a punker, I'm actually quite sedate. I'm an Eagle Scout. A lifelong member of the National Honor Society. I call people 'Sir' and 'Ma'am.'
I don't know why people like f$&#ing with me. Maybe it's because they think I'm f**@ing with them, based solely on the fact that I'm wearing a Black Flag shirt and combat boots. Maybe it's because closed-minded people think that all guys with short hair are neo-Nazis. Or maybe, they just like f%+*ing with people who are younger and poorer than they are.
In any case, if this carries on any longer, I'm going to stop being nice. I will tell people to f%&% off. I will spit in people's faces. I will tell them what I really think about them. I will show them what us "Nazi punks" can REALLY do to their little microcosm.

I have enjoyed your posts on these boards. I will miss reading them. I hope whatever the extenuating circumstances are you are ok and might come back soon.

Trying to couple a few things together.
Mr. Shiny got arrested for "protesting" at a place where some of his friends died in a car crash.
He usually posted from work.
So, if said arrest got him fired from work, then he might not have any immediate internet access.
Keeping my fingers crossed it's something "simple" as this.

Hmm, that's feasible, but he was able to state in the thread you linked that he'd gotten arrested. If he'd gone straight to jail, he wouldn't have been able to make that post... unless he made it from jail. More likely than not, since I think he's a minor, he wouldn't have actually been jailed anyway for something as petty as vandalism. Even if he'd been fired from his job as a consequence, the tone of his post distresses me. I mean, he's still got Internet access from home, right? Wouldn't he have just said "I got fired and can't post here nearly as often anymore"?
Part of me hopes you're right, GG, but the more I think about it, the less inclined I am to actually believe that this is the case...
I find his post less ominous the more I read it.
He has other things going on too - music and art - and it could just be the sum of all things.
A couple of you are emailing him so I'll refrain... don't want it to turn into a spamalanche. I hope you can elicit a reply, but then maybe he has no 'puter access.... so.

I meant to imply that as a consequence of begin arrested (and probably released after getting a warning and/or a ticket) he could have been fired (because of company policy regarding a clean record etc.).
I don't know if he has internet access from home, as I said I think he usually posted from work (cue Kruelaid who said so in a PbP discussion post).Furthermore, getting arrested could have had repercussions with the parent units, further restricting his internet access.
I'm just trying to put a more logical spin on it while hoping for the best. :-)
