Just FYI -- we've got 11 planets now, instead of 9.

Ceres, formerly an asteroid, has been promoted to dwarf planet, joining the humbled Pluto as well as Eris, the outermost planet.

So, now we have 8 regular planets and 3 dwarf planets.

What is a dwarf planet? Are there Elven plants too...

A dwarf planet, as defined by the International Astronomical Union (IAU), is a celestial body orbiting the Sun that is massive enough to be rounded by its own gravity but which has not cleared its neighbouring region of planetesimals and is not a satellite. More explicitly, it has to have sufficient mass for its self-gravity to overcome rigid body forces in order to assume a hydrostatic equilibrium and acquire a near-spherical shape.

I would like to state my opposition to dwarf planets.
They are completely unfair!
What kind of rational solar system has human planets, dwarf planets, and giant, gas planets, but has no elf, gnome, or halfling planets?!?
And what about the half-elf and half-orc planets?!?!?!

This is some kind of . . . of . . . fourth edition of the solar system, and I disapprove of it entirely!
I refuse to purchase any solar materials from the IAU from this point forward, and I look forward to Paizo coming out with a revised version of the solar system that is fully compatible with the previous system. (Third party support, such as asteroids, comets, and Kuiper Belt Objects from Necromancer Games would be really cool too.)

The number of editions the solar system's been through must at least be in the double digits by now. All the more reason to boycott!!!

It really pissed my 5 y.o. son off, the whole pluto debacle.

I gotcher dwarf planet right here, gyay!

Pluto shall always and forevermore be a Planet in my book!

...

Hey, you! Watch out and don't stand so close to the End of the Earth--if you fall over, I'm not coming for ya!

Doctrine or Dogma?

I still believe that the sun, stars, and the other planets (there's only 5) revolve around Earth.

"Ah highly object te the farther marginalization ay dwarves an' soobmit tae ye 'at thes ridicule main cease immediate lahk!"

"Hey Stiggy, you're kind of round ... are you a dwarf planet?"

And if so does that make Gittik his moon?

*scratches chin*
I wouldn't mind an Orcus planet.

Of course, we'd have to fear for our lives and make sacrifices daily...

Heh heh....Orcus wouldn't mind either.

Ask and you shall recieve Gene. Welcome the new undead overlords from Planet Orcus. It is closer to Earth then Neptune at some parts of it's orbit.

Planets, schmanets. Everyone knows they are just embers floating around the ceiling of the cave.

Actually make that 13, as the Kuiper Belt objects Haumea and 2005 FY9 (currently designed "Makemake") are also classified as dwarf planets. They are, in fact, plutoids, just like Pluto and Eris.

Orcus, possible dwarf planet...pretty cool! I'll have to show my kids...heh

Tell everyone, we must prepare for the arrival of our undead overlords in 2012.

Evolution does not stop for the grognards. Sorry, grognards.

Evolution is a made up concept, designed to try and force everyone into thinking the HERO and 4th edition are actually not parts of a plot by the mole men who actually control the Chinese to force our kids into accepting that flouride in the water is not the reason people wear aluminum foil hats. ;p

speaking into his collar
This one knows too much. Execute plan beta three.

I proclaim this mudball to be...THE REFLECTORY (on account of all the Mirrors).

Great, a disco ball planet. That's just what we need.
