Ah its fine, I broke them doing something that up til the breakage was lots of fun. I am a student so I'm getting all my lectures emailed to me for the next little while.
Get well soon! I too broke a leg, and I was in surroundings a little less friendly than yours...
(That's Huergar speaking. You have my sympathies too, for what they're worth. I've never broken a leg in real life. I hope you have a nice laptop :)
In the IC thread, we need to get a map. From there we determine the likely point from where the drow emerged onto the surface; the location of the survivors; the place where the battle happened and the route the caravan was taking.
With these info, we then divine the possible dispostions of the drow, which we can then use as premises for our trap... (if they are waiting a certain point then we can tempt them with a bait that will most likely get them all killed.) Drow have a low opinion of non-drow that they usually underestimate us, but hey they're different.

It looks like I am not going to be able to partake in this adventure, due mainly to time restrictions. I am running another thread and also looking at starting another game. Hope everything goes well for you all.

I'm sorry to see that. I wish you well, and Kane will be welcome later in the campaign if you choose otherwise.

I noticed that so far Finrod, Greene, Kyra, and Basil have used the new dice roller. Can we stick with Invisible Castle until something is done about the ease of cheating?

To prove my point:

I'm still not sure on the new dice roller either. I would definitely prefer the IC be used. I know IC has had some server issues as of late (which seem to be gone now), but in those cases I'd rather use an honor system than the new dice roller. Call me crazy that way.
I'll be honoring all rolls so far, but after today, no more please.
As far as Initiative rolls go, the DM can roll any for me he deems necessary.
Mine is +5 for Dex, +2 for Reactionary Trait, and if you count the terrain as Woodland then +4 for Ranger favored terrain.
How exactly did you do that? Either they fixed the code so you can't do that anymore or you know something about the code that I don't.
1d20 ⇒ 20
Still works. You just have to use the back button on your web browser in Preview. Keyboard shortcuts for the back button and cut & paste help. This took me 8 tries and about one minute.
I overlooked fighter's Weapon Traning 1 giving Huergar +1 attack and +1 damage. I bumped his attack and damage bonuses accordingly (from +17/+12 (dmg +9) to +18/+13 (dmg +10).
may I suggest that we use group initiative..one person rolls and the others take the cue from him...or that the DM rolls it for us..otherwise it will take 10 posts before we even get this fight started..if we go with the first option then we work of the 18 Sunaj just rolled
So, everyone would have the same initiative and act, if I remember correctly, in the order of posting. As this is the first combat, we're all still getting used to how combat works.
I think I'm going to have to bow out of the game. It's just a little too much of a struggle to play a paladin with another paladin in the group, each one interpreting alignment differently. Please don't NPC my character for very long, as a capricious GM in a past game "retired" my character by having him torn apart by a pair of dragons and I'd rather Greene just quietly slip away. I'm sure that the conflict between Basil and Greene could have been mined for some very good role-playing, but Wellard's play style doesn't seem to bend in that direction so much. He's ignored a number of comments and questions directed at him since the beginning, and I have no wish to participate in a one-sided role-playing exercise. I wish everyone in the game the best of luck and leave with no ill feelings.
No offense taken. I really would've liked to have seen more. Especially between you & Sir Basil, as well as with Kane (who also bowed out). One thought is that Basil is using his "mercy" quality with his divine bond... So he was listening, just not openly to Greene (at least that's my interpretation).
Anyhoo, Kane and Greene will be bowing out before the next encounter, ostensibly to continue on to the village you all set out for, while the others begin the campaign in earnest (i.e. I'm not killing anyone). If, for some odd reason, you'd like back into the campaign, just shoot me an email, and I'll pbem a quick way back in (and advance any necessary levels as well).
Good luck, and hope to game with you again soon :)
Thank you. I'll keep an eye on the game, since I really did enjoy what you were doing with the story. Things aren't very pleasant for me in RL at the moment, so that could definitely be an influence. I would have liked to forge more of a relationship with the other paladin in the group, whether it was fractious or just a friendly sort of rivalry, but Wellard never bit(presumably because of his extensive DM duties in other games, which I can understand). I greatly appreciate the offer and may take you up on it at some point when life and Greene have found their calm centers.

Is that fair? For what it's worth, I remember trying to engage Greene in some role-playing, but you never bit, and I didn't leave the game because of that. I'm only saying this because I'm really disappointed to hear that you're leaving. I liked your role-playing style and your well-crafted posts, and I was really looking forward to seeing how Greene's story played out.
Please come back. It totally fits Greene's character, I think, to leave and come back after further reflection. If one person isn't into role-playing, there are others in the group; and really you should give him a chance before deciding he is inflexible. He also has a concept he's trying to role-play. There has been one encounter, and it seemed to me he was already adjusting his approach, and you might have seen something different in the next encounter.
What's wrong with two paladins? I was happy to see this. It made me think of the early days of AD&D where you actually needed a rule to limit the group to at most three rangers :) Now, in Pathfinder it seems paladin has become a similarly appealing choice.
Well, best wishes in any case. I'll assume that RL issues are predominant here and offer my hope for calm to return. You're leaving a large hole in the group, and I for one hope you'll come back.
Huergar senses a change in Greene. Something isn't right... He doesn't know what to say and hopes that his wordless assistance in the work of shoveling will be a form of adequate expression.
