Where it had come from she wasn't sure but all she knew was that it was hers now. Grabbing the still wet wooden chest from the shore line Whisper ran and hid herself away in one of her usual, shadowy spots. Sitting in the dim light she set to work unlocking the chest dreaming of the treasures it might contain. In her haste and burning curiosity, she hadn't even noticed she'd been followed until the small voice spoke up.
"Watcha doin'?" Came the young innocent voice. Practically jumping out of her skin Whisper gave a little suprised sound before turning to face the voice. Sat beside her was a little girl, no older than seven or so and utterly filthy, a girl she recognised on sight as one of a local group of homeless kids.
"Opening this box" The older girl replied in her usual quiet tone as she set back to work, soon hearing the familiar 'click' of a lock opening. Pushing the lid upwards she couldn't help but gasp in wonder at the silver and few gems, it wasn't gold but would happily support her for a long time. She sat imagining enjoying a good meal and perhaps a few drinks that evening as the racking cough of the girl beside her snapped her back to reality with the knowledge that there were still those around more needy, as needy as she had been as a child.
Giving a small sigh she grabbed a small handful of silver and pocketed it before pushing the chest towards the younger girl. "Here, take it, share it with the other street urchins. Just don't tell anyone where you found it, okay?"
Unfortunately for poor Whisper the little girl did tell people where she found the money, she told everyone she could. The act of charity, and of the skill at opening the lock, soon became a thing of local gossip and the poor rogue had to try twice as hard to hide away as she waited for new gossip to arise.
different, I like this.Whispers act of kindness and her skill with opening locks are now weaved into the storys of Sasserine's back allys and shadowed places as well as the docks and even has come to be told among the nobles and there kind.
Shortly after Its awakening, It was able to acquire certain research materials. It then located a tavern near the docks that happens to be rather rough. It explained that it required a place to study, and would work for Its keep.
For the past two weeks, It has occupied a place by the bar, studying Its books, writing scrolls, and so forth, 24 hours per day. In trade, It keeps the peace in the bar, using both Its physical presence and Its magic to prevent bar fights and eject unruly patrons. The tavern owners get a free bouncer, and It gets a place to work. It has gained some notoriety as a curiosity, and the tavern owners play on the publicity of their scholar/bouncer.
One thing about Forzakhad. 1 where did the primal power come from?
Races of Eberron last page...... aargh, that's off limits...
I'll switch it to Demoralize. That's similar but gives a save, but lasts longer (1 min/level) and covers more targets.
The dock sides warforged scholar/bouncer has been weaved into the legends and story of the city.It as he is known has become something of an icon of magic dabbling to many on the dockside and his tale has spread throughout the city.
Yes I have not allowed races of eberron as of yet to limit the amount of books I would have to comb though. This being one of my first pbp games I have limited what books for my own sake more then anything else.
Last Zol, Gulrik's Quality Meats in the Champion's District was the scene of a violent confrontation. According to witnesses Sallie Billis and Ulf Lamphry, the altercation started just after midday. Mrs Billis was purchasing a smoked ham and Mr Gulrik was weighing it out when the gentleman in line behind her (a Mr Finn, of no fixed address) accused Mr Gulrik of putting his thumb on the scale. Mr Gulrik denied this, but Mr Finn politely insisted this was the case. Mr Gulrik became more and more agitated by the accusation.
At this point, witnesses agree that Mr Gulrik attempted to assault Mr Finn with a butcher knife. Mr Finn responded by leaping on Mr Gulrik, "scratching and biting and yowling like a scalded cat" (in Mr Lamphry's words). The scuffle lasted less than a minute, at which point Mr Gulrik was knocked unconscious. Mr Finn was unharmed.
Members of the Champion's Watch were on the scene quickly and apprehended both men. Upon weighing the ham again, it was determined that Mr Gulrik was indeed overcharging Mrs Billis. Mr Finn has been released and Mr Gulrik is being held on suspicion of assault and petty fraud.
Tales of a strange warforged with a cart have started to be spread and tales of his many adventures run wild though the lower circles of the city. How many are true no one is sure
Finn story and reputation as a bawler and champion for the little guy has become well known in the city. The story of the ham is just the latest of many such adventures. In his ward finn is known as a defender of the downtrodden and is too when things go back. Much like the neighborhood hero in many ways.
Forzakhad's daring and amazing tale of survival and skill has become apart of the city's tales and legends. He is know known weather true or not as a master seaman.A man of cunning and strength of will to survive the illness that killed his crew.A master of the sail with enough skill to bring his crippled ship in.True or not his tale is now apart of the great tapestry that is the tale of the city.
Ithaniar feels the need to live the life of his ancestor and is always ready to do anything the legend he follows may have done, of course this sometimes gets him in trouble like the times he single handedly attacted a small group of hobgoblin or went of into the Jungles of Quabarra looking for a lost fortress where his ancestor may have stayed.
Since arriving in the city of Sasserine he has tried to keep a low profile but his natural tendancies to show of has lead to him crossing his blades with local ruffians more than a few times just to show off the power of his ancestor's style.
Ithaniar's skill with the blade as well as his adventurous nature has been weaved into the tales of the city as well.Rare enough his kind my be in the city for his look and actions precede him.
OK times up.Soon we will be kicking this off. I am gonna start this game open ended. Each of you in your post will stat where your at and what your doing...in as long or short a style as you wish. I do this for 2 resones 1 it allows you to breath some life into your character,to make him more then just stats and 2 it helps me under stand how your charter is a bit and helps me weave them into the over all story.
A few other things.
we well use group initiative. meaning the first one to post an unmoded INit roll is the base then everyone adds there modes to that. I do this to speed up combat some.
2ND thing I would like every one to post up 10 Perception rolls and 10 attack rolls. I will use them only if I need to the keep the game going have seen many stale out and die because it was held up a few days to many. the perception I will use for rolls as need be most time I will as you to roll them.
I have saw this used in other pbp and they seem to work so I am using em.This is my first time running a game on here so any subjections don't be afraid to give me.

If we're going to do this much -- and I don't have a problem with it -- may I suggest we just do initiative off of a base of 10 instead of rolling, and let the baddies roll to introduce the randomness? If it's supposed to represent an "average" of five rolls, using 10 is going to be more like the results of rolling individually than using something that's just as likely to be at the extremes.

Where do we post the link to these rolls? Do you want rolls with modifiers or just plain d20 rolls? What about conditional modifiers (e.g. +2 for sight/hearing Perception, -2 for Flurry of Blows, etc.)?
you can post them here. I will only use them if lets say your gonna be away for a few days or something odd come up that I need a secret roll for.
Make em normal rolls + your perception mods....and pat the 10 isn't a bad thought at all I think about it.

I posted a set of rolls for Perception and my two main attacks at the top of my profile.
well the attack rolls will only be used for your like gonna be gone or go missing and the game is stalling way to long.Other wise I would rather you do your own rolling.
One more thing guys.Your first post does not have to be about running into or trying to meet the others. There is a plan for that don't worry. This first post should be more like it's. It should show your character being apart of the cites being themselves it can be anything you like...reading a book on the dock, drinking in a traven or just wondering the markets if ya like. Up to you.
well as long as there not being used to assault folks no.Some upper places it might be bad form to walk around in full armor and armed for bear. But even at a nice dinner a dagger or nice sword night not be out of place. But there are no laws limiting weapons or armor in the city.
Well as some my have not dressed for something like that. I was gonna leave it up to the group as a whole what to do. In any case I will be posting up in a bit.
