Yes will try again have been using this
dnddice
I did use a different version once but it requires an email address to forward the results to if I remember correctly, not so sure what I'm doing wrong with Invisible Castle though.
Okay about the stealth and perception checks.

I recently found out that I will be going out of town for work (Natchez, MS) for the entire month of May. I believe that I will be taking a laptop with me, but that is not definite yet. What this means is that there is a chance I will be posting less, or worse, that I will have to cease posting regularly for that time. I will have my Blackberry with me, so I can continue with that if need be, but of course that means no combat maps and whatnot.
I will keep you updated. I am committed to continuing this game as I think we're off to a good start.

So here's an idea:
In order to keep things moving I would like to institute the following rule. Please let me know what you think of the following suggestion:
Posting during Combat
If you do not post your intentions within 24 hours of my previous round post, I have permission to NPC you. This rule does not apply to weekends, as people tend to post less. If I post a round summary on a Friday, let's say, you won't be NPCd until after the same time on Monday.
Does that seem fair? I would like to institute this only because combat tends to make things draaaaaaag in a PbP setting.
It's only an idea. Feel free to shoot it down if you think it too draconian.
Best,
BrOp

Yeah that's all good. I know sometimes I can go a day or two without posting if I have a particularly long or draining day at work.
I have no problem whatsoever with DMPC, especially during combat to keep things moving.

I'm relatively new to pbp, and this is the first real combat I've been in. Do we all just post our actions for the round and then you apply them in initiative order?

Yup, that's pretty much how it happens. It's a very inefficient way of doing things, because you generally end up having to wait for folks a lot more than you would in a RL setting. Sometimes people get around this by posting intentions for multiple rounds in advance (e.g. I will try to flank if at all possible and make 2-pt. Power Attacks).
Once I get to know everyone's posting and combat habits it will be easier for me to fudge things, but at the beginning we all just have to be patient and wait.

Directly away from the carrion crawler specifically F-13 if possible.

Hi folks,
So the internet is a bit sporadic here, and I think my posting will be slowing down a bit. I apologize for that, and will try to post as much as I can manage. There's no internet connection where I am living, but there is at work, so I'll have to sneak it in a bit, or go to the local coffee shop where they have WiFi.

No, you'd need Quick Draw for that. You could drop your bow (free action) and draw and attack (move and standard), however.

Rhade, if you look at the latest map you will notice that you are in its melee attack range, so you'll draw an AoO from the Carrion Crawler if you move back 30'. You can either Tumble back 15' or just take a 5' step back and fire your weapon. If you fire your weapon where you are now you will draw an AoO as well, of course.

Yeah, could be a short adventure. However, I take comfort from the low "health bar" on the carrion crawler and the hope that Iggy still has several charges left in the magic missile wand. :)

Hey, would someone mind volunteering to keep track of the party kitty on their character sheet? I will assumed that all magical items that are found are held by individuals (who should mark them on their own character sheets), but the coins and stuff should just be noted in one place to avoid confusion.

Just wanted to clarify your note in the main thread. When using perception checks we need to be specific on how we are investigating so you know how to respond in your post. Is that what you ment by:
DM BrOp - Kill Bargle! wrote:

This makes sense to me but I'm under that impression that the spell detect magic makes items glow to the casters sight. In effect making a beaon to items that have a magical enchantment or effect tied to them. Obvioully if they cant be seen then the cant be detected so I felt my post was clear that I was glancing about the room seeking anything that would be glowing because of the spells effect. What were you expecting to make the post more clear to you and more flavorful to the rest of the thread. I am loving this PBP by the way, easily one of the best I have ever been apart of.

Yes, that is what I meant. Since Perception is used for both actively searching an area for something which might be hidden there, and being more generally aware of your surroundings, this needs to be specified. When folks generally make Perception checks (the way they have been in this game) I am assuming that they are not specifically searching a given area. To me that requires one to obviously state that.
MythrilDragon wrote:

The Perception comment I made actually was not intended to cover the Detect Magic spell. The spell works as you state, you don't have to make Perception checks to use it, unless it's mundanely hidden in some way. Remember that even a thin sheet of lead will block a detect magic spell. If a magical item were encased in a lead-lined box, and that box, let's say, were hidden underneath floorboards, you would specifically have to say that you are searching the floor and make a Perception check to find it.
I hope that answers your question. Please let me know if it doesn't.

Hi Mark, hope you're better.
Just a quick game note: where did the paladin get the +1d6 to damage vs. undead on the smite evil ability? I can't find it anywhere, so I left it out. If someone can show it to me we can put it back in.
Also a note to everyone. I'd like to stick with the current Beta rules until we convert to the final PFRPG rules after GenCon. So as to not have to revamp all the stats between now and then I am ignoring anything revealed in the Paizo blog or the messageboards.
Sorry about my lagging this week.
