Hello Saori, you should look at the the first page on this site and the first page of Valgrymr's Homebrew discussion site. That should give you the rules you need. If you have any questions, ask on this site and Val, Balfic, me, or others will answer. I have been in Val's rl game for 20 years and as Balfic said, he has been in Val's game for 17 years. Their are others who have been in his game longer. So have fun, and enjoy the game.

max hit points each level; helps give you that heroic feel.
am going to be sending maps and stuff in jpeg format in emails; if someone has to the skills and ability to post it on the gameboard; that would be cool; size of pics can be wierd; sometimes you have to use your scroll wheel to map it larger to see it; perhaps it will look right if you use paint to open it; not sure; but on my other game only one guy has problems.

Hi Kedan,
I am sure they can use another. Just go to Val's Homebrew in the Discussion part of the forum to read his rules for character creation and some of his worlds background. Val is usually real busy at the end of the week so he might not post til Sunday. He will be more than happy to answer any questions you may have then. Reading his background will give you a good headstart and feel for his world.

need you to add on your skills and equipment; also need your 10 percentile rolls.
Also, need you to pick a culture your from and a diety; we will be playing in the Celt area; but very close to the bablylonian and summarian area to the west and the greek/roman area to the south; lot of vikings around too so Norse is ok; if you want to be from somewhere else like India; China; Japan (I rename them in my game but I have each of these mythos and cultures in my game) and more like Arthurian, Melnibonian, Cythulu or however that is spelled; also American Indian; and more if those dont suit your fancy.
if you want a random one; need a single d6 roll from you four times; will need two d6 rolls from you anyway.

Okay, found them (and can't edit the post above anymore).
Looking at the rules for buying back the LA, it seems I have to decide at leveling up to 3rd class level, so it seems there is still some time to get there. May I postpone my decision until we are close to that mark?

Ok; couple things to keep in mind; Celts have no written history; 90% of the population cannot read. Druids dominate the culture and have for the last several thousand years. the culture itself relies heavily on hunter/gatherer and only 15% on farming or agriculture though some 40% keep farm animals like cows, sheep, pigs, and chickens.
for the last nearly 15 years; this area has been devastated by war; hordes of giants, gnolls and ghouls, goblins, bugbears and the like as well as demons have ravished the land; nearly 70% of the population has been wiped out; nearly all the population has been uprooted and moved in a mass exodus as they were driven from their lands. Over the last 3 years; a mass of humanity from the Holy Lands as well as the Celts have fought a bloody battle over a battle line some 500 miles wide and about 100 miles thick; over hills, forest and plains. The numbered dead on both sides is beyond number.
it was the coming of Emperor Sebastion and his 500 cadre of "beast masked" wizards who broke the back of the hordes and caused them to flee.
He has stated that all celts may now return and reclaim their homelands, but may build no temples or anything bigger than a shrine. This is quite acceptable to the druids; who dont build such things anyway; but the celtic clergy has gained a lot of power in the last decade as they have fought alongside of powerful clerics of other religions and gained both a growing number of followers and growing political power. The Celtic clerics are not happy; as they wish to build a great monument to the gods for deliverance, but nothing yet is decided as they do not wish to unduly anger this new Emperor and his vaunted power. It is said the Emperor is quite mad; so the celtic clergy is "discussing the issue".
You and Galen will be able to swap war stories as though you do not know each other; you participated in supporting troops and forces engaged in the same battles. You would have spend much of your last 10 years aiding in relief of sickness, death, doing countless funeral rites, and aiding soldiers wounded in battle as the very great task of keeping spirits high and being a spiritual leader; even as an acolyte as new in the faith; people would come to you for prayers and deliverance. You have seen many acts of powerful faith from seemingly ordinary people and mighty heroism was commonplace. Some of the acts of faith, courage and battle prowess of allied clerics has inspired the clergy of the Celts.

heh the totaled number is meaningless.
ok; quickly the basics; your parents were married; your father was a middle class artisan; iron worker; your mother helped and tended the flocks; you had two older brothers; you have seven younger sisters; your oldest brother is dead; as well as five of your sisters; your other eldest brother is wounded; missing a hand and half a leg; your next youngest sister is blind from some sickness; your parents are missing; have been for many years and presummed dead or worse. You parents loved you much and introduced you to a Cleric named; Unas Earle Thuridin; a cleric (7) of the Dozen King, and they also paid for your mentorship as a cleric which allieviates you from any inheritance of land or property and any strife along those lines from your older brother. You have 3 surviving uncles and 5 aunts; which means 5 dead uncles and 3 dead aunts; you have a lot of cousings; but only a third of what you would have had.
You and your mentor get along great; he really sees the spark of faith in you and loves you like an adopted son. he has taken you with him and he himself has fought many many battles and his faith is strong and unwavering.
The clergy has been devestated; though many holy relics (ie dead bones and gear of fallen heroes of faith) are somewhat easy to come by. so; there is little wealth so send with thier fledgling cleric as he goes about his "great work".
At the start of this story; you will have been just finished with your holy ceremony and become a cleric of the faith. On your night of prayer and meditation; of purging of the self and seeking guidance; you get a clear message from "above" to travel south and seek yea the Stone table surrounded by mehirs of old that stands on a large hill between a forest and a lake.
Thus; Unas believes your vision and has been ordered to help; so he travels with you; with 30 soldiers of the faith; toward this place; you left a week ago; went south then travel east; as you travel each day the weather seems worse; as if the forces of evil in the world are attempting to halt your coming to the ordained place of power.
Thus you may enter the game; Unas and the soilders wait outside encamped upon a lake; you see the hill; and start proceeding around the lake towards it; as you approach the hill; you know you should not yet climb it; not until dawn; you have a torch; and from the base of the hill you smell a fire and cooking food and hear friendly voices.
As your standing there; torche in hand; you suddenly notice a big black dog; vile and evil looking standing right behind you; a black dog following you is a ancient symbol of following a path of evil yet to come. The dog sniffs and blinks at you and moves off; lets out a small bark; then you cannot see it anymore; but you feel it and another like it nearby as the hair on your neck stands on end. The dog is not evil; but a thing of magic, like smoke given life.
the fire is coming from a open spot in a wooded grove; though you can se the light; the woods are a bit thick to see who is in the clearing and your guessing something strange; like magic is happening as you cannot see clearly or hear the voices clearly and are wise enough to realize that what you hear is seems to follow exactly what you expect in both visual and sound.
A voice hails you from the camp speaking very rapidly "Comeoninandjointhefire, teashotandfoodiscooking, comejoinourrespiteandbreakfastwithusoh Clerical Brother."
You have heard that only gnomes speak this fast and he was probably thinking he was speaking slowly.

lol; some of the guys in RL who are reading my game threads for a hoot called and laughed at the prophesy I gave you all; said compared to theirs it is like slow pitch wiffleball with oversized bats; hehe I laughed; duh; 1st level; hehe
anyway; thought I would give you guys some more game info for my world in case you didnt get it off my other homebrew discussion thread.
ok; magic.
in my game, with concentration; an arcane spell user can tell the intensity of arcane spells; the same goes for other type magic for other users; but mental cannot see arcane; arcane cannot see deific or priestly; and back and forth; so; basically not do you have the possibility of telling what schools of magic; hence, illusion; alteration, enchantment; etc. that a item has; you can see in relative terms the intensity of the magic; you get better at this as you level as an inherent ability that I take care of.
so:
0) Violet
1) Dk Blue
2) Lt Blue
3) Dk Green
4) Lt Green
5) Dk Yellow
6) Lt Yellow
7) Orange
8) Burnt Orange
9) Red
epic/relic/artifact - white
Striped colors; spell of lower level from higher level caster that shows increased power level.
so keep in mind; that an item might have more than one type of magic and show each type of practitoner different colors.

ok; please read the part in my homebrew thread about alignment; I will repost it here when I get time; basicaly; I graph alignments; each player gets 100 points per each part of thier chosen alignment; so if you LG for instance; 100 law 100 good; as you play your character; you will gain points if you do things that are alignment based; so typically; a person might gain a point or two now and again; so any shift would take a long time as you not in any danger until your +/- 20% of your chosen alignment. For some classes alignment doesnt really matter; but for some classes it does. You should ask any alignment based questions whenever you feel the need.

Thanks Balfic; yes I mean spot check. Also, some character are more perceptive in certain situations aligned by thier character class so I give a bonus to those situation to notice things; I apply this as a circumstance bonus so sometimes if you think you failed you really dont; but i take care of this part so no worries.

coming soon; sent you a background email; should help you flesh out your characters place in things; the cool thing about being a follower of Apollo is that he gives prophesies and prophetic visions.
your character will have traveled, following a vision given by Apollo, by ship accross the Sea to land on the Celtic shore; your family would have send you and escort; but they would be lost in battle against a raiding party of gnolls; you and another (if you choose) will have survived and continued on your course; will send out your vision soon.
