The Road From Highmoon [4E FR]
DM Nixon,

33 Buddy Col Final avatar

The mercenary leader leans back against the sofa chair which take the wrath of the shards for him.

Across the room the two thugs by the front door leap into action, the first tries to swipe at Snow with his club but realizes quickly that his strikes are useless as they pass right through the creature. The second thug on the other hand, shifts past the creature and tries to club Aglaeca but the swing comes down to the right of the tiefling. After seeing his friend fall so quickly from an explosion of shards the last thug runs over to gang up with his friends, and possibly use them as shields. T4 double move to h2

Vs. AC (Aglaeca) (1d20+5=10)

Once he is up on his feet, the mercenary leader pulls out a crossbow and fires on karn while taking cover behind the couch, sticking an arrow right into his left arm.
Please note that M is now in cover from the hearth chairs and gives a minus 2 to any attack rolls against him.
Vs. AC (Karn) (1d20+9=29)
Karn takes 10 damage

I'll post now since I'm going to bed soon and my actions shouldn't interfere with Aglaeca too much. Also, DM Nixon, I was at E7 when the fight broke out so I'll take my actions from there.

Aglaeca,

Asmodeus avatar

Aglaeca starts chanting a soft and otherwordly chant , summoning the Armour of Agathys from across the planes. Big chunks of reality seem to fall away from the teifling as he is surrounding by a swirling miasma of nothing. The Air Chills Suddenly as he turns around, taking a step back from his would be attacker, and moving casually around the couch and standing beside the man who was barking orders, the apparent leader of the group.

Muttering infernal appellations of doom and hardship on his foe, Aglaeca waits.

Shifting is a move action, you can do two moves and a minor, and he burned an action point to get an extra action for that standard

Can I just amend my move action, E8-D9-D10-E11, not sure if I can squeeze between Aglaeca and the bar. If not then I'll move through Aglaeca's space, E9 and take the OA from M. Everything else remains the same.

That works just fine, the bar counts as difficult terrain but you wont have to take the OA that way.

You got it, and in fact Karn is in need of some healing.

The entire scene of this tavern fight is suddenly lit up as divine bolts of lightening tear through the room, one of the bolts crashes down on the hardwood and the bartender grimaces from his hiding spot and the second finds a nice spot on the back of the mercenary leader. It is quite something that he is still standing. In fact, he looks over at the thug who has just run out the door to his right and then looks onward at the tiefling standing in front of him, "What did you do to me? you plague!" he cries before collapsing to the floor, dead.

As the Mercenary falls to the ground Aglaeca feels a small shard of life coming into his own vitality. He turns on his heel and grins at the ruffian standing behind him.

"W-wh-what did you do to him?" the ruffian says, "I'll kill y-" she is cut off by the blast of light that narrowly misses her from the tiefling.Miss, but I've got her cursed for Aglaeca

I have no issues here as long as the problem is settled, this is the first game I have been dm for and would like it to go along smoothly for everyone involved. I had seen something about this on other threads and had already made up my mind on how I felt and that is that things happen and I wouldn't punish a player for something like that taking place. No problems have been caused IMO

There seem to be no clues to find on the bodies. The group you've just fought just appears to be the typical sort hired for odd jobs like silencing someone or property damage to make a point. You do however manage to find some gold, 5gp and 83sp total. As far as goes equipment you only find some very used weapons, a few daggers, two maces, four clubs, a crossbow and a longsword. Nothing that spectacular though.

Chorro,

A 5-Plane-of-Shadow-Blast-3 avatar

Chorro, Snow padding silently behind him, moves to the figure in the booth. Staring silently at the man for some time, the shifter finally speaks.

"Chorro thinks that Aglaeca should talk to this man for whom we have spilled blood." The shifter's amber gaze has a weight behind it, and is carefully neutral in tone.
