”Hey! It worked! Way to go Nuveril! Let's use this opportunity to take the battle to them”
Nano yells and go into spellcasting. As he moves toward the ladder, he does so with impressive speed, his small legs allmost moving in a blur.
Casting expeditius retreat (speed is now 50 feet for 10 rounds) and follow jaken towards the ladder
Nuveril prowls the floor of the chapel, her eyes on the slight movements in the rafters. Stowing her scimitar, she draws a javelin and prepares herself to throw it the first time she gets a clear shot at a pugwampi.
Nuveril may not be the sharpest cookie in the jar, but she remembers the goat and the cliff and isn't about to volunteer to make Climb and Acrobatics checks tens of feet above a stone floor with pugwampis in the area. ;)
Seeing the otherwise stupidly brave halfling female stay on the floor, makes Nano hestitate. But since he has only got enough energy to conjure one more ray of acid, he figures that they need to take the fight to the pugwampis.
Just before he starts climbing the ladder he turns to Nuveril with a smile 'what is the matter? You only got it in your mouth?' he winks and start climbing.
Nano will follow jaken up the ladder. So unlike him. Seeing another halfling acting brave and Nuverils threat against the pugwampis must have inspired something in him ;)

Nuveril snorts in derision. "Throw the rats down to me, and I'll finish them off," she tells Nano. "But try not to fall yourself. I might not be able to tell the difference between you and a pugwampi before it's too late."
Losk keeps his feet planted firmly where they are. "Eye, you lot throw the little things down, and we'ull finish em off. I aint gettin' any closer to them than this, not with the way luck runs near em."
Losk reloads his crossbow, and waits for the others to position themselves.
I'm off the net for a couple of days now. I'll sort the map of the upper level and a full description then.
People up stairs, please array yourselves on the map provided... :)
For those up the ladder:
A thin balcony overlooks the chapel floor some twenty feet below. Two rows of tall-backed wooden choir chairs dominate the southern reach of the balcony, which hugs the chapel’s concave walls. The balcony falls away—collapsed for a span of perhaps fifteen feet—just on the other side of the choir area. To the east, rickety time-worn wooden rafters stretch across the whole chapel. Two huge sections of these rafters have been engulfed in a sort of nest comprised of a patchwork of random bits of cloth.
The pugwampi you have been chasing are huddled in the corner of area A3f, surrounding what appears to be a slightly larger pugwampi, with a big hammer. He is speaking in a fierce, if high pitched voice. Although you cannot discern his words, his intent is obvious; he is reprimanding his subordinates.
Map of the upper levels. The labels are not quite so good as the other maps, but you'll find they work where they need to, and peter out where it's less important.... :)
The thick lines you can see, which normally represent internal walls, are actually rafters, providing a more solid (you hope) footing than the older wood may provide. Walking on the rafters would be a balance check as described in the skills section of the rpg...
Nuveril keeps a cautious eye overhead, looking for movement. She knows the odds are that the fall itself might kill the pugwampis, particularly if the cause of their tumble is an attack by her companions above, but her scimitar itches to remove rat-like heads from small bodies anyway.
With a sharp curse to the furry gremlins, Pravenha shoulders her bow and follows up the ladder. Once on top she tries to find some steady footing and aim for the rat bastards.
Sorry for the delay folks, really hectic week at work, and probably another this week. I have a 1yr old and a 3yr old to manage today, but should get chance to sort myself out and get a post up....
Normal service will be resumed ASAP...
Jaken, I think you may have gotten confused with the numbering, or where you entered up top....Moving to N6 would be 80ft of movement minimum.....(If you assumed entering at the opposite side, it would be around 30ft...) I've put you at F6 which is the same distance from my point of origin....If you did mean 80ft of movement...How?(I'll admit I was a bit lax with timings...)[ooc]
A few seconds of scrambling sees the three of the group at the top of the ladder, and into the rafters. While Nuveril and Losk ready themselves below.
The Pugwampis arguning amongst themselves don't immediately notice the newcomers [ooc](i.e. You get a surprise round), As Paravenah readys her bow, Jaken cracks off a bolt from his readied crossbow (I think...), and Nano attempts his final ranged spell casting, unfortunatly, as he does so, his footing shifts, and the energetic blast hits the roof, altering the little beasties to his presence.
Hi to everyone. For those of you who havent been following the other thread, after an extended absence (thanks to Nevynxxx for filling in) I am now back on board as DM for this game. Apologies for the disruptions - my schedule is getting bearable again.
From where you currently stand Parvenah and Nano can see the three pugwampis peering out through a 'curtain' of scavenged scraps of cloth, linen and tapestries. They are aiming their tiny bows through gaps in the material and will receive cover from you. Losk and Nuveril can't see the enemy from below, although can make out signs of movement in the canopy above their head.
I know many of you have posted actions, but to start with a clean slate, I'll ask you to go from here. (Note that I've also redrawn the map, so references have changed somewhat).
Initiative:
Nuveril 21
Pugwampis 18
Nano 17
Paravenah 8
Losk 4
The pugwampis poke their heads through the old, dirty fabric hanging from the roof and peer across at Parvenah and Nano. Remaining where they are in the rafters, perched precariously in the roof of the chapel, the nasty beasts release a volley of tiny arrows. Although one sails close to Parvenah, none of them strike their mark.
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
1d3 ⇒ 2
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (9) + 3 = 12
1d3 ⇒ 3
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5
1d3 ⇒ 3
Losk remains on the ground below, waiting for a clear shot. Nano releases his final acid ray, however the creatures take cover behind the hanging fabric and manage to evade his attack.
I know it's a little confusing, with a shift in DM, new map and so on. We should be back into a semblance of order now. The three pugwampis are hiding up in the rafters, Nano and Parvenah can see them, although they have cover. Nuveril and Losk remain below and currently cant see them at all. Next up are Parvenah and Nuveril...
Nuveril glares up at the quivering fabric stretched across the ceiling. "Dwarf," she addresses Losk, "if your sun-lady wants to help us reclaim her temple, would she not grant you some kind of fire to burn away the shroud they're hiding behind?"

the fire bolt description says "hit a single foe", not sure if either a) I can see a foe to target, or if failing that, I can target the cloth....Monty's Call
If I can see a pugwampis to aim at:
A wide grin spreads over Losk's face. "Eye lassie, why didn't I think of that?"
Ranged touch attack at the pugwampis 1d20 ⇒ 19
1d6 ⇒ 1
If I can't see a pugwampis to aim at, but can aim at the cloth:
A wide grin spreads over Losk's face. "Eye lassie, why didn't I think of that?"
1d20 ⇒ 13
1d10 ⇒ 5 Translate that 5 into a letter, and we get a firebolt to cell E19, doing 1d6 ⇒ 2 damage...
If I can't hit anything:
"Ack lassie, I do, but I have to have some corporeal thing to aim at. The goddess doesnee like the waste of her energy."
