Oso Legumbe,

DA 114 Wrk 2 avatar

Oso fires off a crossbow bolt at the burning giant.

Attack roll 17+7+1=25, Damage 1+1=2. That'll learn him!

Then he discards the crossbow and moves up fifty feet to the giant's left, making sure to keep out of reach of its paws.

Stigwold Mæch'Hæmmær,

K 2 Dwarven-Trader 1 avatar

I must have missed the post setting this fight up. I am involved?

Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe,

Considering you just got a giant-sized crossbow bolt wedged up your lily white dwarvish @ss I would say yes.

Stigwold Mæch'Hæmmær,

g#! d@&mit.

"Min arsed giant!"

<Charge!>

How far is he?

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

He's 50 feet away.
You can do it, but gimme a balance roll, d.c. 5. The area around the tree is boggy muddy gunk.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Oh, and Oso's crossbow hit the giant.

Batter up! ;)

Pip segues into a stirring fight song

"There weren't a giant e'er so tall
That Stigwold Maechammer couldn't make fall
A titan would quake when he heard the sound
Of Gittik the Mighty when he came around
An overgrown bully would cry in his turn
When Riese would deliver his arcanist's burn"

Setting up Inspire Courage ... +1 on all ATK/DAM rolls for 5 rounds.

Shut up! Shut up! Or I'll shove that lute up your arse and you'll have to fret with your teeth!!!

What is the matter, Altoa? This is the most talented musician I have had the pleasure of being acquainted with and his lyrical works are beyond exceptional.......'arcanist's burn'.....that's a catchy tune........maybe The Regulators should have a theme song.......

Altai--or is it?,

Sandpoint-Cleric---CUT avatar

Oh, Riese.....you're sooooooo handsome....[censored]....
You didn't think he cared THAT much.

Riese,

8 -Rake Final avatar

"What is with you Altuna? You seem a bit.....odd." Riese pulls his wand and fires at the giant "I thought you looked a bit hot, so I postulated that you could use a bit of a temperature change!"1d20 12=21 concentration, 1d20 8=27 ranged touch, 1d6 2=6 cold damage.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

It's round 1; Pip and Oso are all that have attacked.
(edit) and I guess Riese...

Riese full damages the giant, who can do nothing due to the halfling's sonic mindf!%!.

ooh! that's a nice wand.

He garps up some more split pea soup.

Elgan Dreadwood,

Iggwilv Summons Grazzt Fin 2 avatar

Elgan screeches again,...
Surprisingly in key with Pip's catchy tune,
And the small thunderhead spits out another lightning bolt on the giant's head.

3d6=9

Heh. I'm going to add 'Thunderhawk' to Elgan's list of nicknames on his character sheet! ;P

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

The giant takes a shock to the head; when it hits his skull can be seen for an instant...
he's still alive, but he's not able to do much at this point, due to the bard's sonic barrage.

Looks like Gittik, Stiggy, and Beldan left to do something.
Altai....well, let's just consider him under "dungeonmaster control" for the time being.

Stigwold Mæch'Hæmmær,

1d20=13

Stig charges across the bog with the grace of... of... a fat dwarf in plate mail running toward a giant through a bog.

Finally arrived he puts it to the axe: 1d20+6=18, 1d10+21=22

Beldan Vale,

06-majestrixs-expeditionary avatar

Did Stig get into melee with the giant? And the giant is still prone? If so, Beldan will run to G7, drawing his rapier as he goes.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Yes and yes...

Stig slams his weapon into the giant's shoulder, opening a deep wound and painting the muddy water with gore.

Altai Iscarni,

Vendikon avatar

Gaaah! Who are you, and what have you done with Altai?

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Hey! I thought you were gone!!!

Altai:

Spoiler:
you are mentally under assault by some wicked possessing entity. If you make a wil save, you can attack in this first round. If not, it subverts you. It's making you say bad things at the moment...

Altai Iscarni,

Vendikon avatar

Spoiler:
Just checking in. I'll be gone from Thursday to Thursday, so just let the possessing thing do what you want then.

Of course, for this round... Will save 13+8=21. Concentration check 9+12=21, attack roll 12+5=touch AC 17, damage 6.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Altai:

Spoiler:
you're in control for this round. The only enemy you can see is 50 feet away.

Altai Iscarni,

Vendikon avatar

Spoiler:
Cool. I zap the giant, using the rolls above.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Cool beaners; didn't understand what I was seeing.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Guess just Gittik.

Altai blasts the giant. It's getting closer and closer to dead.

Altai--or is it?,

Sandpoint-Cleric---CUT avatar

Altai:

Spoiler:
I can tell you....about the zoogs. Where they're from.

Beldan Vale,

06-majestrixs-expeditionary avatar

“Now Altai’s talking to himself … or the Moonshine Fairy…”

"Keep talking."

Altai's looking a little preoccupied.

Gittik,

11-Roseblood-Sprite avatar

"Meh, me kill one them already - me wait for lizard vampire."

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Right on; the giant is stunned so misses his attack.
Round two; everyone's go.

Altai--or is it?,

Sandpoint-Cleric---CUT avatar

Altai:

Spoiler:
"Give me....free control. And I will tell you about the zoogs," the disembodied voice in Altai's head says. "I want to control your body."

Elgan Dreadwood,

Iggwilv Summons Grazzt Fin 2 avatar

Lightning Dmg: 3d6=12

Elgan sings once more in screeching counterpoint to Lucille's gentle wailing, and another lightning bolt pummels the giants smoking scalp,...

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

He's getting down there in hp's...

Altai Iscarni,

Vendikon avatar

Spoiler:
"I already know where the zoogs must be from, and I can find out more through mundane research. If you think I'll just let you control my body for something as minor as that, you must be completely stupid."

Altai shakes his head violently, as if he hopes to throw the voice out. He then zaps the giant again.

New will save 14+8=22. Concentration check 13+12=25, attack roll 10+5=touch AC 15, damage 6.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Altai zaps the giant again; the giant's looking pretty scraggly.

Altai--or is it?,

Sandpoint-Cleric---CUT avatar

Altai:

Spoiler:
you made this next round's wil save...

The voice....
"You stupid fool....you are nothing but a proxy for an enemy worse than Orcus! I can see there's no working with you."

Vendikon avatar

Altai:

Spoiler:
What I offer....is ultimate power over men's dreams. What more is there than that?

Beldan Vale,

06-majestrixs-expeditionary avatar

Beldan moves around to flank with Stig, then stabs at the prone giant. rapier: 7+6+2 (flank) = 15. If that hits: 4+1 = 5. If it counts as a sneak attack ‘cos he’s prone: +9 damage.

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

The giant's almost....finished...

Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe,

8 Olivor-Grape avatar

Pip, having set up his Inspire Courage, reaches for his trusty sling. He whirls it once, twice, three's a go!

1d20+12=26, 1d4+2=6

Tenser,

Freaks 22 avatar

Tenser runs up and bites him.

1d20+6=25, 1d4+2=4

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

DEAD!!!!! 400 exp. each.
It's hard to tell what breaks the camel's back--the dog or the sling stone...
now what?

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

You don't see anything else going down.
Altai seems to have returned to normal...

Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe,

8 Olivor-Grape avatar

Pip pops a quick CLW on the burly dwarf:

1d8+6=9

Struming Lucille to start the effect.

"When I get in melee,
I need hobbity healing.
Hobbity .. healing is something that's good for me."

Mad Hermit Runecaster,

Dude avatar

i must sit in now....you make dungeon master snorts Sunkist; hurt his brains.

Pendobar 'Pip' Bushytoe,

8 Olivor-Grape avatar

I aims to please! :P

Beldan Vale,

06-majestrixs-expeditionary avatar

Beldan looks at the hobbit askance.

Then: “Alright, everyone ok?” With a pointed look at the no-longer vomiting Altai. “Head for the tree?”

Altai Iscarni,

Vendikon avatar

"Let's do it. Any more giants around?" He looks around casually. "Sorry 'bout that. I have no idea what came over me."

Same procedure as last time? I was hoping to save my Fly spell for later, but I'll use it if I must. I guess Gittik goes up second after Beldan, followed by Oso and Riese?

dungeonmaster heathy,

Chiseler Back avatar

Don't see anymore giants at present.
Is that what you wanted to do?

Altai Iscarni,

Vendikon avatar

Yeah, just a quick look. After that, Beldan climbs up and throws down a rope.
