Fine Print (Adventures in Khorl)
Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

"I'm coming up if there's space? I don't wanna miss another tussle!"
Pendrick flies up the ladder, keen to see what is going on in the loft.
and just in time for the next explosion/brain melt. If there's no room in the loft, Pendrick will continue to watch the doors with a readied action, but from the base of the ladder

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Pendrick pokes his head out to see his friends all backing away from a 3ft tall crystal statue that seems to be walking!

Shekebbet's turn.

Shekebbet,

A 10 Conna-the-Stone-Giant avatar

Shekebbet's staff swirls nimbly in his grasp, as he attempts to block any incoming attack from the tiny creature.

Delaying until the creature strikes and then attempting to Aid Other on it's target to give them a +2 to AC.

He also dredges his memory of any scrap of arcane lore that might be of use in avoiding a fight with such a guardian construct, or, if necessary, to quickly and safely defeat it!

15 on Aid Other roll, 24 on Knowledge (arcana) roll.

If he recalls anything that seems remotely useful, he shouts it out hurriedly.

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

Keiva's waiting for the crystal faen's action in case she gets hit.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

The statue attempts to shove Shekebbet down the hole into the corridor.

Bull Rush. Will do dice tomorrow.

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

Yay, it didn't attack me!

Is this thing alive? Could it be a real faen trapped in crystal? Keiva decides to see if she can reach the crystal faen's mind. Reaching into her pouches, she pulls out some baubles and calls upon the gods to link her mind with that of the faen. Then, hesitantly, she reaches out to touch it. Stop! she cries to its mind.
[ooc]Keiva casts contact; Wild Magic (1d100=9); Melee touch (1d20+1=15)

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Keiva, Tzu and Shekebbet get to make Opportunity attacks against the statue as it tries to Bull Rush Shekebbet.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

OA v crystal faen (1d20 3=4, 1d6 3=5)

"Bah."

I was going to ask if I could use the roll to try and knock the crystal whosit over, but with that roll, I'm not going to bother. Tzu just fell over herself.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Tzu is taken completely by surprise by the statue's maneuver.

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

Not the most combat-ready faen in the world, I don't believe Keiva had a weapon drawn, do no AoO for her, I'm afraid.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

I rolled for Shekebbet. It was a complete miss. I rolled a Str check for the statue. Believe me, it's failed miserably also.

The statue tries to barge Shekebbet down the ladder but the mojh stands firm. Shekebbet is so shaken he cannot recall anything about such a construct.

Keiva finds no mind to contact, it would seem to be what it appears, a mindless statue.

FabesMinis,

Elf avatar

Tzu's turn.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Completely astounded by the advancing statue, Tzu nearly falls over her own feet for the second time in as many seconds.

"This is bizarre. Keiva, keep back," she pants, deeply concerned at her own failings.

Sock the statue (1d20 3=5, 1d6 3=6)

Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

Can Pendrick beat on the statue from his current location (say with a one-handed-weapon)? Is there space for him to climb up and attack?

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

No, and yes respectively.

Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

Pendrick grunts his way into the loft, readies his sword and shield and attacks the wall. don't know if I can do all that and attack, but the attack roll is a natural one
"This is your last chance to surrender!" An obviously confused Pendrick shouts, looking back and forth between the animated statue and the decidedly inanimate wall.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Pendrick clambers up in a complete muddle and misses completely.

Shekebbet's turn.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Fabes DM wrote:

Shekebbet's turn.

Fabes
Spoiler:

Set's away for another week I think. He asked you to DMPC him.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Oops. OK. Thank you!

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Shekebbet and the statue flail at one another ineffectually.

Keiva's turn.

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

Seeing that everyone else has been unable to stop the statue, Keiva decides it's time she stepped in. Drawing her ice axe, she tries to shatter the mindless thing.
Attack (1d20+1=11), damage (1d6=6)

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Tzu sticks out her foot and tries to trip the statue over.

Smack that blasted statue (1d20 3=13, 1d6 3=5)

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Keiva's axe rings off the statue and Tzu misses in the confusion.

Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

"Eyes...itching...Ahh.aaah..choo!" Pendrick, chokes, stumbles, and rubs feebly at his eyes with the edge of his shield. His dismal parry barely protects him from a vicious, albeit imaginary, assault launched by the wall.
what manner of sorcery is this? it's like that dream of swimming in honey I used to have when I was a boy
"I... I tink we've been entanted" spews a barely coherent Pendrick.

ANOTHER natural one. I'm not going to roll damage, for fear you'll apply it against Pendrick!

Spoiler:
I think Pendrick is allergic to Tzu

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Spoiler:
Allergic! To Tzu! How very dare you? That made me spit coffee.

"Pendrick, now is not the time for hay fever. Push it down the stairs or something."

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Initiative

Tzu
Pendrick
Shekebbet
Statue
Keiva

Do we have Shekebbet back? Sorry for delays folks, thanks for sticking with this.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

"Oh for heaven's sake..." Tzu is nearly roaring in frustration as her latest attempt to pull the statue over fails miserably.

Trying to unbalance the thing and knock it flat (1d20 3=5, 1d6 3=8)

Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

'Third time's the charm!' Pendrick pulls himself together long enough to get off a decent attack at the wee statue.
attack roll: 15+4=19 (longsword) damage: 8+3=11 (d8)

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

"I can't believe four of us are going to be defeated by a statue my size!" Keiva mutters. "Keb-lokal, guide my hand to destroy this abomination!" she calls to the god of things (especially faen-related things) that should not be. Apparently the god hears her prayer, for Keiva's ice axe bites into the statue's side.
Attack (1d20+1=18), Damage (1d6=5)

Shekebbet,

A 10 Conna-the-Stone-Giant avatar

Seeing his friends getting in solid blows, Shekebbet thinks to himself, 'Why not?' and takes a swing at it with his magister's staff.

Lacking any real combat training, he fears that his half-hearted attempt at playing warrior will not suffice.

13 to hit, 2 damage.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Ahem? Before we get archived. If it's Tzu, I apologise.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Before being destroyed by Keiva's ice axe, the statue gets in a solid hit against Shekebbet. 20 vs AC and 8 damage to Shekebbet.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

"I hope there's something in that box apart from living statues." Tzu looks grumpily at the remnants of the crystal thing and restrains herself from kicking them.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Shekebbet is now on -1 HP I believe, so some medical attention would be a good idea.

Shekebbet,

A 10 Conna-the-Stone-Giant avatar

Shekkebet looks uncomprehendingly at the enormous dent in his side from the tiny statue and topples over soundlessly, opaque lids sliding down over his normally unblinking eyes.

Yup, -1. Ouchie!

10! He self-stabilizes at the end of the round! Hot patooties!

Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

Pendrick gives the statue a final smack for good measure and goes to his friend's aid.
'Forgetting our deal? I take the bruises, you make something of yourself'
...something indeed: recently transformed into a willing slave of our ancient oppressors; currently a battle casualty. I'm sure glad you know what we're doing old friend.
damage to statue is 2+3=5, heal skill check is 16+1=17...assuming we drop out of bullet time. I don't think there's anything I can do with a successful check now that he's already stabilized, but if I can, I will

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

"Shekebbet, you need to take better care of yourself. I have enough on my plate with Keiva." Tzu grumbles gently as she goes to explore the box.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Pendrick checks over his friend, but there seems to be no further risk of him dying.

Shekebbet lies on the ground, unconscious.

He has stabilised, but they only way he will heal is magic or rest.

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

Keiva kneels beside Pendrick to examine Shekebbet as well, whispering her second prayer of the evening to Hyathine. Looking up, she says, "If you give me an hour, I can probably heal him. Do you think it's safe?"
Satisfied that the mojh is in no immediate danger, Keiva touches the shards of the shattered crystal faen with the toe of her boot, before slipping a few of the pieces into her pouch. "What's in the box, Tzu?"

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Tzu finds nothing in the box.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

"Apart from the crystal thingummy, nothing."

Tzu prowls the room, looking for whatever is there to be seen, senses alert.

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Tzu finds... nothing. It is, as it appears to be, an attic.

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

"Pah. Downstairs we go."

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Tzuchaleny wrote:
"Pah. Downstairs we go."

Looking at Sekhebbet, an expression of mild concern crosses her face. "Is there anything we can do to make him more comfortable - take him downstairs perhaps?"

Pendrick,

A 06 Zorro-Type-Escape-from avatar

is there somewhere we take take Soren for healing?
'Maybe we can pool our gold and buy some healing for our friend? I've got one g.p..."

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

"And I have none."

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Oh, the comedy... Here's a hint, it might be a bit of a struggle to take an unconscious person down a ladder. What are your plans? Essentially, you have two doors downstairs still to go through.

Paizo Employee Keiva Wintermoon,

FINAL Carlisle PF 3 1 avatar

Keiva was trying to provide a solution in my last post. :) She can spend an hour readying new spells, in this case Lesser Transfer Wounds. Of course, doing so might knock her unconscious, but that's the only healing I can do. The question is, is it safe to stay up for an hour while she readies the spell?

Fabes DM,

Carlisle Drg 359 New Myth 1 avatar

Is everyone in agreement to try that?

Tzuchaleny,

R 3-Rakshasa-Dancer avatar

Yes. Tzu and Pendrick can probably jump on anything that threatens our squishys in the interim.
