Initiatives:
Borondon: 19
Divel: 16
Navorn: 15
Svetla: 15
Ingrahild: 13
Sondergang: 11
Orc horde: 10
Eldon: 6
Merzhan: 6

I am assuming Divel is moving behind the fighters to take advantage of their cover

Borondon's spear slips from his fingers as he tries to galvanize his sleep-weary mind to deal with the advancing orcs.

Divel’s razor-sharp arrowhead punches through an orc’s throat. The disturbing ‘thock’ sound of Divel’s arrow rupturing the orc’s larynx is followed by a horrible gurgling as the large humanoid pitches forward clutching his throat, vainly attempting to stanch the blood.

Ingra readies her crossbow, but is a bit too hasty. The bolt flies off mark, hitting the stone wall of the campsite and ricocheting off

Ingra atk: 1d20+2=8

Svetla and Navorn prepare to meet the screeching orcs as they attempt to bull their way into camp.

Sondergang waits until the orcs are close, then swings his mighty hammer with all his strength. It hits an orc running towards him, the broad flat hammer head crunching ribs and forcing a spatter of greenish blood from the black and white-painted lips of his assailant. The orc folds up like an accordion, driven backwards by the force of the blow.

Everyone in the campsite proper is assumed to have cover (+4 to AC) due to the 4’ high stacked stone wall. Sondergang you had an extra missile attack if you wished to use it as they were advancing. Divel did you make 2 rounds worth of bow shots? I will post the orc's attacks soon. Look through the info and check to make sure I covered everything.

Please call out any inconsistencies, as I am quite punchy at the moment.

Sondergang Wulfsson,

you missed this in the synopsis

On his turn Merzhan stands up and waits until the first unharmed orc enetrs the 30 ft range.

Dramatically raising one arm he unleashes his blood gift as he roars out a single word, "Die"

1d20+2=20, 1d6+1=7

attack is ranged touch damage is fire

"Marath Kuhl Uragh Carathak" which broadly translated means "There's more of that where this came from you Orc Bastards"

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

I did see that, but he needs to wait until we resolve the orc's actions, as his initiative was el sucko

Qadira Merzhan Al-Kahadiim,

That it was!

Navorn,

PF 3 Barl Bre avatar

Unarmored but ready Navorn Lefts his voice in song
"OH the night was long,
But we ,
few shall be strong
hold fast ,
your weary arms
and give to each other
the strength to carrry
ooooooooon"

As his voice lefts into the night the party feels courage and strength flow into them bolstering there attacks and minds

Used bardic profomace inspire courage all ally receives a +1 morale bonus on saving throws against charm and fear effects and a +1 morale bonus on attack and weapon damage rolls

The darkness is split by the cries of the wounded orcs and the howls of their companions. The orc's skull-painted faces are contorted with rage as they try to advance through the narrow campsite opening.

Navorn begins a warrior saga, lifting the hearts of the hard-pressed party.

The orc next to Sondergang slices his falchion towards him in a wicked arc

Ouch: 1d20+4=23

Crit confirm: 1d20+4=21

initial damage: 2d4+4=7

Crit: 2d4+4=9 16 all told :(

The orc's wicked falchion finds a chink in Sondergang's armor, slicing deep into the valiant dwarf. He groans as the cruel steel cuts deep, but the cut does not fell him.

The other two orcs stand back and try to launch their javelins into the campsite. One targets the elven archer Divel, the other the chanting war bard Navorn.

Divel: 1d20+1=11, Navorn: 1d20+1=21

Jeeze, IC is loving me ... :(

Crit confirm: 1d20+1=18 normally would crit, but you have a +4 because of cover

Dam: 1d6+3=5,

The javelin aimed at Divel hisses by his head, striking sparks as it hits the loosely stacked stones of the encampment. The javelin aimed at Navorn strikes true, the wickedly-barbed head striking his upper arm. He stumbles on his chant but continues on, his voice shaken, but still proud.

From the darkness comes the angry wasp hum of arrows. Somewhere in the darkness, towards a small copse of trees, several orc archers are hidden, peppering the party with black-fletched harbingers of pain

Arrow 1(Sondergang)1d20=14, Arrow 2 (Borondon)1d20=19, Arrow 3 (Svetla)1d20=11

The arrows hiss through the campsite, but strike only rocks.

Merzhan summons up a ray of flame and sends it roaring out to the orc that hit Sondergang. The searing flame lights the dark night with a dazzling glow, wrapping the shreiking orc in a red caul of flame. The burning orc drops, crying and howling for a moment before subsiding into the final silence.

Eldon any actions?

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

Phew, looks like I'm the only one who wasn't attacked by anything. I should probably take Fortune's Friend prestige class later on ;)

Eldon will shoot an arrow at the farthest orc of the four initial chargers.

Attack = 16 (11+5)
Damage = 1 Nevermind about that Fortune's Friend crap.

Borondon Thurgund,

27 Demon War 3 avatar

Borondon draws his axe and readies an attack until an orc steps into L8.

waraxe attack (1d20+6=7)

Wow. I roll 2 natural 1's in a row . Should have been +8 for racial hatred, but it missed anyway.

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

Eldon draws his bow back and aims for the howling orcs beyond the campsite's entrance

The two in front are down, so I'll assume you go for one of the javelin throwers.

The doughty halfling's arrow flies true, humming out into the dark. The arrow gashes one of the slavering orcs aross his hairy thigh and elicits a pained yowl from him.

Actually the damage was against Sondergang, Borondon. You have yet to take any damage.

Divel Divellios,

Divel targets the javelin thrower that cried out. His next arrow aims for the chest.

Borondon's hands have not yet caught up with his mind. His second attempt to gash the orcs falls flat.

Divel nocks an arrow with a graceful flourish and lets the slender shaft fly towards the orc Eldon had wounded. The fierce humanoid pitches backward, Divel's shaft lodged in his right eye as if by magic. He hits the stony earth, killed so quickly he has not even the chance to cry out.

Navorn or Svetla next

Folks feel free to post your actions this round. PbP often means that the next person in line might be busy doing something else. I try to do things in initiative order, but if someone slows the game flow by not posting in a timely manner I will handwaive over their turn and go with the people who have posted.

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

Eldon will let fly another bolt at the same orc he hit last time.

13 (8+5) to Hit
4 Damage

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

Actually Divel ninjaed you with his attack. Fear not there is one still alive plus the archers once the others have a chance to post! :)

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

Eldon holds his fire as Divel finishes the orc, "Damn it Divel! Be a man! You can brag about killing when you start killing your own!!!" With this, he will aim at one of the other archers.

Sondergang Wulfsson,

A 05 Necrophidious-Fight 1 avatar

Sondergang curses as the orcs Falchion bites deep.He reels back through the ranks (to H5) and draws the earth power from deep within to close his wounds

Cast cure light wounds on self 1d8+1=4

Ingra will fire on the last of the melee equipped orcs...better have Patrick roll for her

Qadira Merzhan Al-Kahadiim,

06-majestrixs-2 avatar

Mezhan quickly begins chanting as the air around him seems to shimmer and harden into a field around his body.
Mage Armor

He shouts to Divel "Keep them ducking!" as he scrambles over the wall directly in front of him, Climb check 1d20=16 , and runs to P6.

Assuming climbing wall takes 2 squares of movement

Svetla Eisenheim,

As her companions continued to fight the orcs, Svetla slipped into her boots and cautiously made her way over the rocks to her left.

Svetla now stands in K3.
Svetla peers into the shadows, trying to pinpoint where the arrows had come from.

Svetla Eisenheim wrote:

Svetla tries to peer through the darkness. She remembers seeing a small copse of evergreens to the south. Judging by the trajectory of the arrows when they came in that would be the most logical place for archers to set up. Unfortunately it is 60' away in total darkness with just a banked campfire and a smouldering orc providing illumination. The clangor of melee masks any noise the orc archers make.

Navorn,

PF 3 Barl Bre avatar

Digging deep Navorn sings clearly into the night and slips into a guarded stance as his voice fills the night.

going defensive and still singing

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

Orcs Turn? Btw, looking back at my previous post, by "kill your own", I meant "kill your own enemies, don't steal one's that I have damaged", I DIDN'T mean "kill your own comrades". sorry for any ideas of mutiny that I have spread :)

The DMPC,

A 3-Masquerade Massacre avatar

Ingra's mouth sets in a determined line as she sees Sondergang stumble back from melee. She aims her light crossbow with a sure determination, taking her time and bringing the final meleeing orc into her sights.

Atk: 1d20+2=19

The bolt hisses through the darkness, punching through the orc's hide armor and his ribcage with equal ease. The orc stiffens in mid-howl, green blood pouring from his tusked mouth.

Dam: 1d8=7

The large orc collapses to the ground and expires.

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

More arrows come streaking out of the darkness

ATK (Borondon)1d20=12,ATK (Eldon) 1d20=11, ATK (Divel) 1d20=5

Once again the arrows strike nothing but the rocks of the campsite wall. The group hears the sound of running footsteps from the direction of the arrows. The archers seem to be retreating with the demise of their front line brethren.

Merzhad leaps the stone wall, running full tilt for the copse in an attempt to persue the ugly humanoids. Svetla sees him set off as she attempts to pinpoint the archer's position.

Eldon sends an arrow winging towards the archer's position, but a wooden thock sound confirms to his keen ears that he has managed to wound an evergreen only.

Nice job all. Will be posting up more this aft. The three archers are in full retreat. Anyone who follows them in the darkness and who does not have darkvision will need to make DEX checks or risk falling in the rough terrain.

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

"I meant to hit that..."

Borondon Thurgund,

27 Demon War 3 avatar

Borondon chases after Merzhan and the archers. Even though he has no hope of catching either, he wants to be close if Merzhan gets into trouble.

Sondergang Wulfsson,

A 05 Necrophidious-Fight 1 avatar

Sondergang ensures that the fallen orcs stay fallen. His hammer rises and falls swiftly crushing their skulls. He laeves it to others to loot the bodies.

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

Borondon chases after Merzhan. The predawn gloom is thick, and neither moon is above the horizon at the moment. The sound of footsteps running heads south.

Sondergang uses his hammer to ensure that no Orc is lying doggo. His broad mallet crushes the skull-painted heads with ease. The sound of skulls crunching echoes off the high cliff to the west and comes back with a dopplered funhouse sound.

Any thoughts of persuit? Or do you wish to regroup?

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

Eldon sits down on a nearby rock, letting the others finish off the orcs. He pulls out a piece of bread (most likely stolen from Borondon) and digs in.

Qadira Merzhan Al-Kahadiim,

06-majestrixs-2 avatar

Merzhan unleashes a Fire Ray at the treeline hoping to ignite something to provide light.

If he can see his enemies he'll continue pursuit, if not he'll stop.

Merzhan Al-Kahadiim wrote:

Merzhan's fire ray arcs out and singes the evergreens. Since it is Springtime, they are well watered and full of sap, so they do not catch. The Orc archers are nowhere in the general area, and there are many hollows and draws they can duck down.

If you want to mount a persuit, all those with darkvision roll me a DC10 Reflex check. All those without roll me a DC20 Reflex check. This will allow normal movement rates. If you wish to run full out add 10 to the DC. (i.e. DC20/30 for full-out running) Failure indicates you have lost your footing and have gone sprawling for 1d4 of incidental damage (DC15 Reflex save for 1/2 damage)

Borondon Thurgund,

27 Demon War 3 avatar

Borondon stops chasing before he gets too far from the campsite.

"Arr. Merzhan stop! They are gone!" he calls.

Qadira Merzhan Al-Kahadiim,

06-majestrixs-2 avatar

Merzhan heads back. "You are right my friend"

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

The group returns to its stone campsite. The orc corpses lie at the entrance, their skulls smashed into bloody pulps by Sondergang's hammer. The fetid stink of their loosened bowels enlivens the predawn gloom.

Post up some actions and I will be back this afternoon! (EST)

Sondergang Wulfsson,

A 05 Necrophidious-Fight 1 avatar

Having diposed of the trash..Sondergang channels divine energy healing the wounded around him for1d6=2 hit points

Divel Divellios,

33 Spell-Sovereign avatar

Divel moves to strip the corpses of anything useful. He piles weapons to one side and everything else to the other.

He doesn't ask for help.

Qadira Merzhan Al-Kahadiim,

06-majestrixs-2 avatar

After everything that can be obtained from them is taken, Merzhan torches the bodies. As he watches them burn he muses aloud.

"These are indeed the Orcus worshipping orcs. And no doubt the survivors will tell their clan of our presence. I fear that when we arrive at Tharkad-Kul, they will be waiting."

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

"Hell, unless you guys are looking for a defeat, we better get a move on!" Eldon begins collecting his contents, and stuffing them into his bag. "Oh yeah, let's split any valuables they were carrying, too"

Borondon Thurgund,

27 Demon War 3 avatar

"Har! Them orcs is whipped, they won't be back this morning. I'm going to eat and wait 'till its light before I move."

Borondon gets his pack and starts digging through it for something to eat. "Dern, I thought I had more bread than this..." he mutters.

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

Divel rifles the Orc corpses with a practiced efficiency. He places their weapons and armor in piles. The weapons are crude but sturdily-made falchions and javelins. The armor is studded leather, particularly rank with orc sweat, blood and other less savory fluids.

Anyone with armor/smithing proficiencies might find out some info by looking at the items. Feel free to roll a check.

Divel:

Spoiler:
Divel rifles the Orcs' purses and finds 50 GP, 100 SP, 3 PP and 40 CP in loose coin. One of the Orcs carries a gold ring in his nose that looks as if it once was a finger ring. The ring is set with a cabochon ruby. One Orc carries a fetish statue made of carved ivory depicting a ram-headed demonic-looking figure.

Dawn is rapidly approaching. To the west the horizon is lightening. The earlier showers have abated and the sky is filled with wispy clouds.

There is one unchecked orc downslope

Eldon Tindertwig,

Boatsman avatar

Borondon assures him, but when hears the mumbling of 'lack of bread', Eldon resumes stuffing his contents into the bag.

Navorn,

PF 3 Barl Bre avatar

Navorn Pitches in to help where ever he can. Helping strip and burn the bodies as needed he hums and sings tunes to help lighten the mood.

Divel Divellios,

33 Spell-Sovereign avatar

Divel makes nine piles of the coins, one is much larger but is mainly made up of copper nobs.

He then hands out a pile to everyone (worth 10 golden eagles) and hands Sondergang a second pile including the 40 copper nobs (worth 10 gold, 40 coppers).

As he passes the last pile to Sondergang he adds, "equal shares and party supplies."

Then he shows everyone the ruby ring and ram-headed demonic fetish.

Appraise on ring 20+7=27 (+2 if magical)

Dungeon Monkey,

Monkey 4 avatar

The ring doesn't seem to be magical, but the ruby is a fine first-water gem, a fiery translucent red color. Quite likely if the ring was repaired and given a bit of spit and polish it could fetch 500 GP to the right buyer.
