I'm having some problems with the scaling and it is driving me crazy. I'll try to get it updated as soon as possible.

Raoh,

Pathfinder Cover 5 avatar

"Attacking me at once very good, and normally that would keep from using something like this..."

Attack 1d20+3=19; Damage 1d8+2=6

Raoh flicks his wrist sending the blade at another of the thugs.

5' step back to R15.

DM would I get a AoO on one of the thugs that ran at me since my urumi has reach?

Silme,

Paizo-W 2-Petrune avatar

Rather than risk walking into a swinging blade, Silme backs himself up against the nearest wall/pillar/hard rock/whatever.

Branth Bummugboar,

Wild Elf Final avatar

As the one-eyed woman begins her performance, Branth leaps up onto the nearest table (lets say square M12). Hefting a throwing axe in her right hand, she pauses briefly to take aim, then hurls the weapon at the one-eyed woman (assuming the other thug between us has moved out of the way; otherwise, I'll just peg him).

Ranged attack: 1d20-1 (+3 for DEX -4 for range increments) = 8; damage: 1d6+3 (+3 STR) = 7, although I'd say that's a miss.

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Raoh wrote:

Yes, you do indeed get an AoO.

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Branth's axe misses the woman by a hair, while Silme backs up to the back wall. Raoh's strike connects and disembowles one of his attackers.

so what we got left and where are they located on the map?

Uathach of Iomedae,

(assuming the thug I face doesn't drop me...)
Uathach squares off against the thug, "May Iomedae treat you as you deserve" and drives his sword forward in a piercing strike.

Bron Islar wrote:

Thug 3 is at J11. Thugs 1&2 are still in the same spot, Thugs 4,5, and 6 are dead.

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Raoh wrote:

Raoh's mighty swing easily disable the other attacker, who falls to the ground as well.

Bron Islar,

Cayden Final avatar

standing in square J-10

As Bron stays crouched in the shadows of the wall, a thug moved to just in front of the rogue. Smiling to himself and gripping his weapons tightly, Bron made his move and attacked with both his swords. Main-Hand Basic Attack (1d20+3=5)
Swinging the sword in his main hand, his attack whistled harmlessly to the left. Off- Hand Attack (1d20+3=5) And his off-hand sailed far right.

"Damn" swore Bron cursing the drinks he had earlier.

Epic fail is still epic.

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Bron's slashing attacks fail to connect, and the thug turns at slashs at him, likewise with no success. 1d20+3=6 to hit. The wizard gestures and mubles a few words and a silvery arrow busts out and hit's Caladan in the chest. 1d20+3=6 damage. he one eyed women slashes at Branth with her rapier, but Branth rolls out of the wat of the strike. Uathach lunges forward and drives his sword into the thug's back. The man coughs once as blood bubbles from his mouth and then he slides of the sword into a heap.

Caladan Delathia,

Opener 5 avatar

Caladan staggers under the magical attack, before clambering up onto the table to get a clear shot. Nocking another arrow, he releases it at the wizard.
Attack (1d20+5)=24, Damage (1d8)=1

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Caladan's shot hits the wizard and grazes his shoulder, leaving a small red streak on his arm below the torn cloth.

Silme,

Paizo-W 2-Petrune avatar

Silme's still blinded, right?

I'll just hunker down till it passes.

Branth Bummugboar,

Wild Elf Final avatar

With one practiced and swift motion, Branth pulls the greataxe from her back, arcing it over her head with both hands and violently down towards the one-eyed woman.

Attack roll = 1d20+4 = 23

Damage roll = 1d12+3 = 14

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Brath's attack is total overkill as the woman drops to the ground deader than disco.

Raoh turns to the remaining thug, "Perhaps now would be a good time to stop. I'm sure you can tell we have the advantage", Raoh looks at Branth and the others who helped clear out the thugs.

"I personally detest unnessary bloodshed. Just surrender so no one else gets hurt."

Diplomacy 1d20+4=23

Bron attacks again with his main-hand Main-Hand attack (1d20+3=15) Damage (1d6+1=3) and follows up with his off-hand Off-Hand (1d20+3=4) well whats your rule about rolling 1s?

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

The wizard throughs his hands up in the air. "Just kill me now," he says, "I'm a dead man anyway." Meanwhile, Uathrach manages to stabalize the dying thug at his feet.

You are now out of combat. 520 xp for each of you.

Caladan Delathia,

Opener 5 avatar

Caladan remains on the table, surveying the room and watching for any other suspicious activity. He keeps his bow ready, arrow nocked as he awaits further developments.

What are the staff/owner doing? Once things start to calm down and someone takes charge, Caladan will climb down and restow his bow.

Bron Islar,

Cayden Final avatar

Bron lowers his blades but keeps his guard up. He quickly looks around at the other patrons that had joined in on the fight as well. He quickly recgonizes "Big B" and her friend. "Well that was fun" Bron said to himself.

Branth Bummugboar,

Wild Elf Final avatar

Branth stares vacantly for a long moment at the woman slumped lifeless before her, her jaw set.

Raoh,

Pathfinder Cover 5 avatar

My post was eaten!

Raoh keeps his steel coil ready incase the wizard acts.

"What a bother", he thinks to hinmself

"Well that was fun", Raoh takes note of one the 'spectators'.

"Seriouly hope that was in joking"

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Most of the staff had fled when the commotion started, just like the patrons. The few bouncers who stayed eneded up being blinded like Silme. However as they shake off the spell's effects they quickly take charge of the two prisoners. One of them, a dwarf with a red beard, walks up to you. "Boss says youse should help yerselves to what ever they gots," he tells you. "Then he wants to talk to youse upstairs."

Edit: See my note about xp progression on the discussion thread.

Branth Bummugboar,

Wild Elf Final avatar

Branth searches the body of the woman she has just killed, taking what may be of interest. She then closes the woman's eyes. "Can't stand her staring accusingly and horrified at nothing like that," she mutters.

Standing, she walks over to the dwarf and asks, "Who is this boss man?"

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Searching the woman's body Branth finds a rapier, a light crossbow with 10 bolts, and a belt pouch containing 17 gold eyes. she is dressed in leather armor."De boss is Saul Vancaskerkin, the owner of dis fine establishment," the dwarf says.

Taking the crossbow, bolts, and belt pouch with its contents.

Branth nods. "Upstairs, you say?" She begins to trudge towards the stairs, heading up to meet Saul.

Bron Islar,

Cayden Final avatar

Bron sheaths his blades and walks over to where the other dead thugs are and starts to pick through one of them. Bron searches for any thing that might explain why they attacked and if they were working for someone (as well as look for valuables). He then walks over to the stairs and begins to ascend them to Saul.

Caladan Delathia,

Opener 5 avatar

Caladan isnt interested in looting bodies. However, if anyone of the thugs have any arrows, he'll replace the two he fired. Inclining his head slightly to the others who sprang into action, he heads towards the stairs.

Silme,

Paizo-W 2-Petrune avatar

Once Silme recovers he will see what he can do to tend the wounded.

Silme,

Paizo-W 2-Petrune avatar

Once the wounded are stabilized he will ask, "So who are these people and what kind of trouble were they trying to start?"

Raoh,

Pathfinder Cover 5 avatar

Recoiling the blade, Raoh sheathes it and heads off with Branth.

"What a day. Atleast we kept this place and the people safe from what ever they had planned."

"I guess," says Branth, looking a bit stunned by the sudden events. She looks over to Raoh. "I wonder what it was they were up to. Stealing the gold, or something more? Maybe this 'bossman Saul' will have some idea, ya think?"

Raoh,

Pathfinder Cover 5 avatar

"You can never know around here" he smirks and continues to the office

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Searching the fallen criminals you find that each has a shortsword and they are carrying a total of 25 gold teeth.

Once upstairs you are taken to a finly appointed office. A large wooden desk dominates the room, but there are just enough comfortable looking high back chairs for each of you. The small man with the key hand is sitting behind the desk. He turns and looks at each of you.

"I would like to thank you for your actions today. You very likely saved my establishment from financial ruin," He says. "As a token of my gratitude allow me to offer you a few tokens. First, would any of you like a drink?"

After pouring the drinks for those who want them, he turns to the red haored dwarf. "Feldur," he says, "Please cash in these folks chips at double the going rate." "Sure ting boss," the dwarf replies and collects your chips. Then Saul turns back to you. "I have a proposition for you," he says. "How would you like to work for the Gold Goblin as my junior partners?"

Raoh,

Pathfinder Cover 5 avatar

"Junior parneters, huh. What does this mean for us?", Raoh swirls his glass before taking a drink.

"A say in all decisions, room and board if you need it, and a salary," Sauls says. "10 gold a week for starters."

Uathach of Iomedae,

11550 620 19 avatar

HAH! a say in all decisions....from a paladin...in a casino in Riddleport??

"I'll take some food Saul, then we can discuss the ramifications of partnership."

"what's with the demon in the cage?"

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

"Scratch was just a little something to create an atmosphere," Saul says. "One of the Cyphermages owed me a favor, and now it is repaied."

In my tabletop campaign we had both a Palidan and an Iomedain cleric involved. It was great fun.

Caladan Delathia,

Opener 5 avatar

DM Dave wrote:

Caladan gives the owner a curt nod of assent. "I'll work for you. For a little while at least. I may have to leave town shortly, but until I do...you have my eyes and my bow."

Indicating the thugs downstairs, Caladan asks the dwarf "Any idea who they were? Just bandits out looking for an easy mark? One of your competitors, perhaps?"

Branth Bummugboar,

Caladan Delathia wrote:

Branth looks around at everyone gathered. She is sitting in one of the high-backed chairs and holds a drink in her hand. She furrows her brow and looks at the little man behind the desk, interested in hearing his answer to Caladan's question.

Dave, can I try to sense motive and see if anything seems odd about Saul proposition? If so, sense motive = 3--er, well, nevermind.

"I have run afoul of some of the basses in my years here in Riddleport," Saul admits, indicating his missing hand. "Anyone of them would like to see me fail at this endevour. However, as much money as we had downstairs, it would not suprise me if it was just some punks looking for a big score."

Uathach of Iomedae,

11550 620 19 avatar

"I'll take charge of the interr...questioning of the prisoners, let's see what we can find out about these low-lifes." "Now about that room..."

I bind them and take them to the room.

I interrogate the prisoners, offering Iomedae's forgiveness and possible removal from this town, IF they speak true and talk. (1d20+7=26) NICE!

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

The surviving muscle tells Uathach that the wizard hired him for the job. The wizard's story is that he was hired by a man who kept his face cloaked the whole time they met. The plan was to rob the Goblin and it's patrons. The gang would get anything they looted from the people at the Goblin and they would turn over the chest of gold to the mystery man who was going to meet them at the docks at midnight.

"And...where....were you supposed to meet him after the robbery?"

If this is a non-relative tangent, don't worry about it, nothing throws off a PbP than getting off the tracks, rail-roading isn't so bad in PbP I think...especially for an AP
