DM Dave's Nentir Vale Campaign
DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Elmo's attack does indeed drag the man back between him and Jake and the human is looking very disheveled. Human is now bloodied. Jake is up.

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

I won't be able to post for a day, so please go ahead and take control of Yrenn, Dave.

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Sorry, I forgot the human's action. He is going to take his held action now.

As Elmo's lightning lure drags the human warrior back between him and Jake, the man lashes out with his mace again, but misses badly, perhaps stunned by the lightning's jolt.

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

Shift to flank with Elmo.
1d20+5=18, 1d8+1=3

Jake steps up and slashs at the man once more. "Hai-yah! Take that!"

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

I'm no longer AFK.

I cast magic missle at the same goblin I attacked last round.

Magic Missle (1d20+4=23 vs Reflex) , (2d4+4=10 damage)

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Jake smacks his opponent with a solid hit. Yrenn also hits her opponent and he staggers a step. The goblin hucks another javelin, but fails to hit Yrenn. However, the two goblins fighting Ba'az both manage to score hits. 1d20+6=16, 1d20+6=17 vs. AC, 1d8+1=9, 1d8+1=4 damage.

Goblin 3 is bloodied

Ba'az Astor,

Black avatar

Ba'az almost drops from the damage (1hp left) but instead lunges forward using his Paladin's Judgment (one regular attack and one ally within 5 squares can use a healing surge) on the one he hit before. attack=23 and damage=6 and I use the healing surge on myself healing 6hp and incressing my AC by 2 until the beginning of my next turn.

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

You can't do that. You do not count as an ally. Only other characters count as allies. You can't use such powers on yourself. SOrry!

Ba'az Astor,

Black avatar

Edit:
Ba'az almost drops from the damage (1hp left) but instead lunges forward using his bolstering strike(adding 3 temp HP to himself) on the one he hit before. attack=23 and damage=6 and I spend an action point and use a healing surge healing 6hp and incressing my AC by 2 until the beginning of my next turn.

Logan Draknir,

Cayden Final avatar

Seeing the dragonborn in trouble, Logan spins next to him and unleashes a torrent of sword strikes upon the goblins surronding him. "Need some help Scaly?"
Move: Logan moves adjacent to the Ba'az trying to avoid Op.At.s
Minor: designate the goblin Ba'az didn't hit last round as hunter's quarry
Standard: use Dire Wolverine's Strike against the two goblins adjacent to Ba'az
Att 1st Goblin:1d20+7=14, Att 2nd Goblin:1d20+7=14 Dam:1d8+4=6 HQ Dam: 1d8=6

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Ba'az lays into the goblin and smashs through his defenses. Logan's strike hit's both goblin's and the one that Ba'az just struck collapses in a heap. Meanwhile the fleeing goblin makes it to the hole and drops into it.

Elmo is up, followed by the human warrior and Jake.

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

"Insolent coward, you will pay for insulting me and insulting a lady. Move from this spot if you dare."

Elmo jabs viciously at his foe's ankles as arctic chill forms over his blade.

Frigid blade v Man (1d20 6=21, 1d8 4=5). Versus AC. On hit, if target starts its turn adjacent to Elmo, it moves at speed -3 until the end of its turn. If he and Jake are still flanking, that should have been an attack at +8, which would equal 23.

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

Yrenn flubs her next spell.

Magic Missle (1d20+4=8 vs Reflex)

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Elmo's strike hits the man, as ice forms around his feet. He swings at Elmo and lands a mighty blow. 1d20+4=17 vs. AC, 1d8+1=6 damage.

Jake is up

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

"Elmo! Curse you. you oaf!" he shouts at the man.

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

"A mere trifle, Jake, demolish this impudent scoundrel." Elmo's voice is slightly muffled as the man's coat swings over his head.

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

Sacred Flame vs the man -1d20+3=17, 1d6+3=5 If it hits, Elmo can either gain 1 temp hp or make a saving throw.

Jake holds his holy symbol, closes his eyes for a second and calls down a pillar of flame from the heavens. "Corellon take you!!!!!!!!!!"

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

Taking the temp hp, thanking you muchly Rev Nimbletoes

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

Sorry for posting out of turn. I got confused. If I can redo that move, here are my rolls.

Against the same goblin

Magic Missle (1d20+4=15 vs Reflex) , (2d4+4=10 damage)

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Jake's attack knocks the human warrior to the ground. As he falls, something shiny slips out of his shirt. Meanwhile the goblin that Yrenn is fighting also goes down as the Magic Missile reduces it's chest to a smoking crater. Seeing that he is out numbered, and out gunned the last goblin tosses his spear to the ground and raises his hands.
"Don't kill me," he growls. "I'm just the hired help."

You are out of combat. 115 XP for each of you.

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

Sheathing his sword, Elmo glares at the fallen human. "Let this be a lesson to you. Impudent scoundrel."

He picks up the shiny object and turns his attention to the remaining goblin. "Why where you hired to abduct a lady? Answer truthfully, or it will go very badly for you."

"I hope they did not harm you, Miss," he adds to the blonde girl.

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Elmo wrote:

"His name is Gathorian," the goblin says. "He leads a cult that meets in the tunnels under the town. I guess he has a thing for the girl because he said she was to be his bride. That's all I know."

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

"A CULT!" Jake's eyes light up, "Here in town?! Abominable! And to what vile entity is said cult dedicated?"

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

"HIS BRIDE!" Elmo's eyes almost pop out of his head and he squeaks with indignation. "Ridiculous. Humans and their hormones. He should ask. Abduction does not work."

He looks sidelong at Jake for approval. The long winter months have been whiled away with lessons in chivalry. Some of the lessons have stuck.

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

"Orcus," the goblin tells you.

Logan Draknir,

Cayden Final avatar

Mumbling "It had to be underground," Logan sheaths his swords and retrieves his bow. After checking his equipment for damage, Logan says, "where, exactly, is this cult located?"
To the young woman: "I hope you are well ma'am. I am Logan Draknir, a marshal in these lands. Do you know anything about what this creature is spatting out?"

Ba'az Astor,

Black avatar

"A closer examination of the object Little cousin picked up can provide us with answers for questions we have yet to ask". "We should also slay this foul creature before he can inflict his evil on others and them move inside the church to debrief the young lady".

"Ioun's blessings to you 'Pink skin' for your assistance" I say to Logan

"Yrenn it is a pleasure to see you again, Ioun must intend for us to work together".

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

Yrenn curtsies before the dragon knight.

"Indeed, brave Ba'az. The gods have brought our paths together again."

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

"Ibdibdibdib!" cries Jake in a flurry of hands, "This is all very jolly and polite, (hello, hello, Jake Nimbletoes, itinerant priest of Corellon, defender of the helpless etc etc) but ORCUS! We've got to stop them!"

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

"Absolutely right." Elmo nods emphatically. "Elmo, writer of books, swasher of buckles. Let's go. Heroic is what we do. The cultists shall tremble."

Out of the corner of his mouth to Jake "Orcus is the evil demon lord of undead, isn't he?"

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

"I think so... but with a name like ORC-us, he has to be pretty nasty!"

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

"Yes, we should have a word with this demon-worshiper. He will likely come after the girl again, unless we give him a forcefully persuasive reason not to."

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

Elmo examines the shiny object he picked up, hoping for clues.

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

"Yes, I like the sound of that, young lady!" Jake says with determination, "What've you got there, old pal?" he asks Elmo.

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

"It's pretty," Elmo squints at the object and after due deliberation adds, "and shiny."

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

Yrenn approaches the girl and speaks in a cool, unsympathetic manner.

"What is your name? What do you know of this priest, Gathorian?"

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

Jake thrusts himself forward, "Don't worry," he says cheerfully to the girl, "We're here to help. Well, I am. I don't really know her." he says pointing a thumb at Yrenn.

"Well, actually, I don't know him or him either" he says musing as he looks at the Logan and Ba'az.

"Say, who are you people?"

Logan Draknir,

Cayden Final avatar

"Logan Draknir, a marshal of the surrounding lands." Logan over exagerates a wink at the young woman. "You two would be Jace and Nemo I presume. Or that's what I heard durring the fight."

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

"My name is Larisa, Gathorian used to work as a farm hand for my father. My father fired him after he caught him abusing our animals."

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

"Duke Elmo, Bringer of Doom, Survivor of Devils and nemisis of Suky the Seamstress, very much at your service Miss. Yours too," he adds to the rest of the group.

"Among friends, I don't use my title." The kobold gestures benevolently to include all the assembled company.

"To business. When did your father dismiss this despicable human from his service?"

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

Logan Draknir wrote:

"I am Yrenn Teladar. Glad to meet you all."

Ba'az Astor,

Black avatar

Ba'az Astor Paladin of Ioun.

Little Cousin if I could examine the object I might be able to tell it's purpose. Again I suggest we get off the streets before we attract too much attention.

Elmo,

D 1 Avatar avatar

Elmo hands over the trinket with a flourish. "I am happy to acknowledge your kinship, Ba'az Astor."

DM Dave,

PJ 3-Belloq avatar

Can I get Religion checks from Ba'az and Jake?

Cheliax David Fryer,

Elmo wrote:

"My father caught him beating and mutilating our livestock," the girl says.

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

"Do you how he came to be a priest?"

Ba'az Astor,

Black avatar

Religion roll = 15

Jake Nimbletoes,

13-green-dragon-FINAL 2 avatar

"It's Jay-kuh, with a 'k', not a soft 'c', but you're close. Its short for Jacobarion." he corrects Logan, "But you can see why I shorten it." he adds with a grin.

1d20+6=15

DM Dave,

Yrenn wrote:

"This was the first I had heard of him being a "priest," she says.

Both Jake and Ba'az recognize the amulet as a holy symbol dedicated to Orcus.

Yrenn,

A 8 -Half-Elf-Cyphermage avatar

The mage continues her questioning.

"Have you had any contact with him since he was banished by your father?"
