Recognising the huge man Vengeance quirks a brow in his direction, half curious as to how someone so strong and large found himself wronged by a man like Gaedren Lamm, and more importantly how they'd never known until now that they had that in common.

Elric scoffs noticably at those around him.
" Indeed, if I could get to him, this meeting wouldn't be neccesary, as i would have already ripped the slime's spine from his back with my bare hands, but admittedly, i'm not much of a tracker, we had bloodhounds for such things back in the Moonshaes. So if any of you might find him, I'll be glad to seperate his head from his torso...Now where's our host?"
The large man inquires, an obvious irritation growing.

"The problem is not so much getting to him, its getting past all of his guards and the innocents he's been abusing for years, even then believe me when I say he'll have defences of his own even if you get past his guards without getting his captives killed," Reg points out.
Even though he doesn't know what defences Gaedren has he does know what he's experienced and going in without any care and attention was going to get the kids he wanted to save all killed something he rather avoid at all costs...

"It is not that I judge you reckless, but that taking him down will never be that simple, when we make our move we must strip him of his defences leave him nothing to fall back on and if we can do that trust me there will be nothing I'd enjoy more than to see you cut loose on that...." Reg's voice fails as he shakes with unquestionable revulsion as he grasps the cup with both hands once more gazing into its depths as he eventually regains his composure shivering as he does as slowly he sinks back into his seat to look back at the giant he was talking to.

The door to the street opens and a attractive middle-aged Chordathan woman with long dark hair makes her way into the room.
"Hello my name is Zellara, and this is my shop as well as my home. Good I see you have fround the bread and wine."
As she greats you she seems to be shuffling a rounded deck of cards. The cards seem to flows over her fingers as she shuffles the cards. She makes her way to the head of the table before she goes on.
"Thank you for coming, my friends, and for putting up with my unconventional method of contacting you. I have reason to remain hidden, you see—a terrible man would see great harm done to me if he knew I was reaching out for help. This is a man you know, for he has done something terrible to each of you as well. I speak, of course, of Gaedren Lamm, a man whose cruelty and capacity to destroy the lives of those he touches are matched only by his gift for avoiding reprisal. You see, a year ago, his thieves stole this, my Harrow deck, from me. It is important to me, an heirloom passed down through a dozen generations, and also my sole means of support. When pickpockets stole it, my son, Eran, tracked them down. The thieves were in the employ of Gaedren Lamm, and in reward for finding them, Gaedren murdered my son. “I sought help from the Guard, but they turned me away.
And so I asked around. I paid bribes. I consulted my Harrow deck for advice. And recently, I was rewarded—I found out where Gaedren dwells. He can be found in an old fishery north of here at Westpier 17, where he trains his abducted children to be pickpockets and counts his stolen treasures. “And now, I need your help. I cannot hope to face this man on my own, and the Guard moves so slowly that if I were to go to them, Gaedren would certainly know of their coming well in advance. Even if they did arrest him—what guarantee would I have he would be punished? This criminal has evaded the law for decades. But you know of these frustrations as well, for word on
the street has it that Gaedren has wronged each of you, too. So there we are. It is time for him to pay.”

Elric almost let a smile shine through his angst as Zellara revealed such information to him. Perhaps truely, the time was at hand to right the wrongs Gaedren Lamm had commited.
He knew full well that Gaedren's death, not even the death of all of those involved, would bring back his wife, or his unborn child, or Zellara's son. Nor would it reverse all the wrongdoing that Lamm had commited through his life, and neither himself nor those gathered around him would be any better off once Elric killed him, but he had took away Elric's joy and hope for a life of normalcy, and if Gaedren would make him take his axe off the wall, he would regret it.
" Then what is to be done? Certainly we cannot march directly into the wolf's den without knowing how big his pack is." He states solemnly, a hand coming up to stroke his beard, and his eyebrow arches in contemplation.
|
|
|
|
|

"What do you know of this fishery? How big is the place have you seen how many guards he has? Let us go and watch this place and find some more out about it. I am afraid I would be recognized there though. Maybe we can just burn the place down around him."
A strange eager glow lites in Hakeens eyes at the idea of burning the place down.
"Is it a wooden building?"
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
" Hakeen there could be children in that building, we will not cause more evil to end evil. " Bean looks around the room from the chair he was lounging in, " We need more information truthfully, while a daring in and out may catch Lamm off guard there is a good chance he would not be in when we strike. We also do not know his defenses or how to get the children out of our way safely. "
Bean pauses for a minute before continuing, " What talents do we each bring with us? If we have a means of making sure that innocents are not hurt even if they mistakenly oppose us at first that would go a long way to soothing many people's worries I think. I don't mean to be insulting to anyone here, I just think best out loud. Sune teaches peace and love not insults and violence. "
Bean then turns to their host, " Thank you Zellara for the wonderful refreshments, and the use of your home for this meeting. May your beauty be like that of a fine wine: only growing better with age. "

Vengeance's eyes narrow a little at something Zellara says but she remains silent however and instead carefully listens to those around her, content to let the others discuss matters, intrigued to hear their input first before voicing her own opinions.

"I feel that we should send some one skilled in the art of subterfuge to watch the pier, maybe some one who could sneak into this building with out being seen would be ideal?" She looks directly at Teelos and raises her eyebrows as she finishes.

"Lai?" Reg mutters under his breath concentrating on something that evidently troubles him.
Shaking his head he managed to keep up with the swing of the conversation.
"What we'll need is to be able to gain entry before they can react to our presence, scouting the way would be a good idea, but we'll need to plan how we deal with what awaits us within, do we rush in to aid our friend here before he's overcome or do the rest of you have abilities that might help him keep that entrance open so we have time to back him up?" Reg asks.
"Me I can fight, almost as well as our axe wielding giant here," Reg adds.

"If you guys insist on doing it the hard way that's fine with me. Our first step is pretty obvious in any case, we need to get a good idea of what we are up against. It's probably best if we wait until most of the children are on the street so they can't be used as human shields."
"I doubt I'm near as effective as the brute", Gesturing at Elric, "But I can help on the edges of a fight. I also have some magic."

:: sigh ::
" I appreciate everyone's ideas on what to do after we are in the building, but as Sune teaches, how you get into bed is just as important as what you do there. " Bean says sitting up from lounging and leans forward hands grasped together between his knees, " What's the first thing you do when you are attacked from an unseen angle? You swing back with your very best to eliminate the agressor. We need to know what Lamm's best is, and how to prevent his counter stroke. I do not want to take out an evil man just to be arrested myself becuase some of the guards are on the take. We need to know who Lamm's allies are, who him minions are, and how to prove we were not just a continuation of some gang related warfare or banditry ourselves. I'm not much in a fight, I can heal though, and I can try and find out what is protecting Lamm from the law. Someone must be covering from him higher up in the government. "

Vengeance slowly drums her fingernails against the tabletop as she listens, tensing especially as Bean talks about Sune again. "I specialise in myticism, mnore specifically the arcane, crafting jewellery and imparting knowledge" She replies plainly as she looks straight ahead rather than looking at anyone in particular "I'm by no means a fighter but I will do all I can to support you all in whatever you decide to do I am not a tactitian. The only thing I will say is that I will definately be coming with you, I have waited a long time for this"

"Perhaps we need disguises," Reg suggests after a moment of reflection.
"If we scout the area we intercept some of Gaedren's guards after all I doubt they stay in that infernal place all of the time, maybe we just need to see what they look like when they do leave and make ourselves look similar enough to sneak in?" Reg ponders the notion.
"Perhaps we don't need to kick down the door but get them to open it for us..." Reg muses to the Sune priest.

Elric nods each time himself or his fighting prowess is mentioned. "It seems you already all know my area of expertise." he states, tapping the axehead.
" I have no desire to kick any doors down, as hard as it is for me, I place the life of the young infront of my revenge. Our best bet is to find out what we can. Halfling, I would assume you would be best suited to scope out Pier 17, and perhaps you, daughter of the sky, might have some sort of scrying magic? The rest of us, including the painfully happy priest of sune, should simply ask around. But be careful who ye ask, lest word gets back to Gaedren." Looking around and listening to the others at the table, Teelos lets it all sink in. " Getting into and out of places, uncovering the secrets the street holds, these are all things I can do. With a swift prayer to Savras she shuffles the cards though her hands they flow as if they belong there. One by one you notice you no longer have your cards. She holds the deck out and asks you each to take a card. As you do she asks you to place them face up.
She comes to V first as she lays down a card with a cricket upon it. “ Your journey to this place did not go as you planned, It has ended poorly hasn’t it my dear”
Next she comes to Regs card. It shows a lantern with demonic faces covering it. ‘ you have faced a hard impossible situation where you could not win,, yet here you sit”
Teelos card is that of a rabbit dressed in finery, ‘she smiles a bit , you have traveled far my little friend”
Beans card is a fool juggling swords before a court. “ Fate lead you to safety dear one of the touch of thy goddess perhaps”
Elric’s card is of a flock of crows taking flight, She seems saddened by such a sight “ You have lost more then most of us dear one”
Hakeens card is of a weave of stones and trees” You were forced down a path of disaster; It is only now you crawl forth”
The last card is Euphegenina’s. It shows a man working on a locked chest. ‘You seek to protect those around you, more then anything do you not?”
With that’s she gathers up her cards and shuffles them. They move to and fro among her hands as if they belong there after a few times she seems to nod to herself and deal the cards out 3 by 3.
She starts on the left flipping the cards faces up. The cricket, a child wondering aimlessly and the keep appear.
“Speed is of the essence, or all could be lost. There will be great temptation along this path”
Next she flips the middle row of cards. A man with his black fist before him, an empty throne of crimson and a forge now face upward.
“A dark influence lays ahead, but it can be overcome.. Times of loss lay ahead as well, but there is strength in the people in this room that may overcome it.”
The last three cards are flipped; The demon lantern, dancing maidens and a stern matron queen great you.
“There is a guiding light ahead, a way out of what’s to come, staying close to one another seems to be the key”
She then looks upon the assembled group “ This is all Savras has saw fit to show me. Travel safely my friends “

Vengeance gives a small amused smile at the halfling before returning her attention to the others.
Teelos;
As Bean speaks to her the genasi tenses once mnore, all humour stripped from her face and her eyes cold. "You goddess has never favoured me so I refuse to return the courtesy by favouring her and hers" She declares with a little bitter venom in her tone.
The reading helps her no more, the young woman retreating inside herself and her expression becoming cold and empty at the words 'It has ended poorly hasn’t it my dear' The only time her expression changes is a look of vague intrigue as her card, the cricket turns up in the spread, almost certain it is an ill omen for her, something she can't escape.

"A place of shelter yes but not one any would call home," Reg replies.

"Somewhere near the waterfront might be best but we will need a plan, do we meet up in pairs or go as a group?" Reg asks

Vengeance gives the smallest nod of agreement at the priest of Sune's words. "You are welcome to meet me at my store, and I believe Mr O'Brien works not too far from there, so perhaps we could use the two locations as meeting places for two smaller groups and travel through the streets in a looe bigger group."

"The big man has the essence of this thing. I will find out what I can about this pier wher Gaedren is staying. I am fine with V's place or Elric's at dawn."
Keen sticks around long enough to find out where the group is meeting up then goes back to his room and crafts a disguise as best he can:
(‹Dennis rolls dice› 1d20+3 » + 15 [+3] = 18)
Then he goes to the area near the marketplace and investigates as best he can:
‹Dennis rolls dice› 1d20+3 » + 11 [+3] = 14
If someone confronts him Hakeen will try and bluff his way out of a confrontation:
‹Dennis rolls dice› 1d20+3 » + 5 [+3] = 8

Elric nods when V mentions him working in close proximity to her. " Indeed, only a few buildings apart. " He states, making his way to the door.
" Dawn it is, meet at my shop or Lady V's and we will make our way to Pier 17....I'm off to a good night's rest. If any of ye need a place to stay, I have a couple bedrolls at the shop, and yer welcome to stay. But if anything happens to go missing, someone's limbs will as well."
He pauses to see if anyone needs a place to sleep, in which case he walks with them to his shop, if it looks as though he isn't needed, he simply nods and goes back to the shop for a night's rest.

" Yay! We get to march off to who knows what without knowing who will be opposing us or how we should attack their weaknesses! Yes nothing can go wrong with this plan, because it isn't a plan! " Bean looks slightly disgusted, " I agree time is important but I would rather be alive to see the outcome then do a frontal assualt on a well fortified location with unknown defenders and defense that I can't even recognize if I stood infront of it! Nevermind who we may upset or what they may throw at us! What if Lamm is related to the royalty? Has anyone even checked? If revenge could wait this long give me just 2 days to make sure we succeed! What good would it do to rush in and possibly die if you don't have a clue as to if you'll succeed? "
Bean stops and takes a few deep breaths before continuing, " Two days. Just enough time to find out what we up against please. I would rather succeed in this then die in vain from lack of knowledge. "
Bean looks up at elric, " Do you want vengeance or just the chance to die so you can meet whoever you lost? "
