This may seem like a dumb question, but can a caster cast a touch spell on himself? I haven't been able to find anything expressly saying this is true.

So, for example, could a vrock cast heroism on itself, or does it need another vrock so they can cast it on each other?

I think the answer should be yes, but is there anything official anywhere?

As far as I remember, A touch spell can be cast on any target you can touch, unless the target line modifies that , it should include you. A Cleric should be able to for example, cast cure light wounds on himself.

Here you go (emphasis added):

SRD: Actions in Combat wrote:
Touch Spells in Combat: Many spells have a range of touch. To use these spells, you cast the spell and then touch the subject, either in the same round or any time later. In the same round that you cast the spell, you may also touch (or attempt to touch) the target. You may take your move before casting the spell, after touching the target, or between casting the spell and touching the target. You can automatically touch one friend or use the spell on yourself, but to touch an opponent, you must succeed on an attack roll.

Thanks, guys. That's exactly what I needed. (And Gorbacz - I had exactly the same thought when I made the post! ;)

To recap:

Characters touching themselves when casting spells is just fine.

Players touching themselves at the gaming table is poor etiquette.

But is far preferrable to players touching each other at the gaming table.

Don't fight it.

Yes, but there is a 50% chance he will go blind.

I love the fact that the fourth post in this thread is the answer to the OP's question, and all of the subsequent posts are filthy puns.

I love the Paizo forums :)
