Title says it all, really, but Monte Cook's Arcana Evolved is completely out of print, and judging by the prices on eBay and at Noble Knight Games, there's still a demand.

So... Paizo to the rescue? Let's make this thread one where we can show our interest.

Oh, God.

I love Arcana Evolved. Need more printing, since mine is starting to die!

Yes, and the errata have already been incorporated into the updated PDF version! My AE group and I would by several (probably 3-4) right off the bat.

I would also love to see further support, even if it was PDF only. More adventures, NPCs, item collections, etc. Siobharek himself is an ENnie-nominated author and has written cool adventures for AE like The Living Airship, Beyond Creation, and Circle of Rites. Rite Publishing seems to be the only active publisher for AE at this point, though I think Fiery Dragon is hoping to do more.

The same could likely be said for reprinting Ptolus for that matter. Both astoundingly good works that deserve a wider audience.

But I'm not sure what you're expecting Paizo to do about it. Yes, Monte was announced as an advisor of sorts for PFRPG, but I wonder if there truly exists sufficient #s of fans to make new printings worthwhile. Plus, you have to face the fact that these products would be competing for gamers' dollars w/ Golarion products more likely to pay Paizo top dollar.

I'm not trying to be negative or contrary; just a realist.

Yes!

Paizo, please print Arcana Evolved!

I have 5 new players who would love a copy :)

I suspect that Paizo would carry Arcana Evolved should Monte reprint the books but its not up to Paizo to reprint these things, this is Monte's baby and would presumably be handled by Malhavoc Press.

Paizo will already be printing the Collected Book of Experimental Might in cooperation with Malhavoc Press. Now we want Paizo to also reprint Arcana Evolved in cooperation with Malhavoc Press.

Oh yeah. RP is carrying the torch - including a great adventure out NOW </plug> - but still, a reprint would be great, and according to Monte, Paizo could make it happen...

I'd really like a reprint. It's hard to convert new players (and especially new DMs) without physical books.

Even though I already own two AE core books, my gaming group doesn't own a single one. And if I want to promote Lands of the Jade Oath at my RP-club, I'll need a few core books of AE for sure.

I am in the same boat AmLash -- my group needs copies - 3 or 4 of them.

Though I would certainly consider an errata'd copy for myself...

A new edition with updated errata would be lovely. I know of one guaranteed sale, maybe a couple.

I know a few people who would pick up a copy if it was reprinted.

I really like the system and hopefully will get to run an adventure or campaign at some point in the future. Something I would like to see if it ever was reprinted would be for it to be updated with some of the mechanics from the Book of Experimental Might 1 & 2, as well as the Pathfinder Rpg.

Its also really nice to see some of the Malhavoc fourm fanboys popin over here. Small world .

Small internet. ;)

I would also love to see it updated with some of those items, however I know Monte has no time for it with his writing career.

Im glad Monte is pursuing his dreams, but I cant help but feel that the rpg community (mostly the 3.5ers) are really losing out on this. Perhaps thats a selfish thought, but I would love for him to fully step back into the fold.

I would love to see his Veins of the Earth campaign published at some point and some more stuff for Ptolus and AE. Another Book of Eldritch Might volume 4 would be cool as well.

Oh well, hopefully his Malhavoc stuff will get reprinted at the very least. There are a few of the older titles I wasnt able to get in print at the time and now have some trouble locating.

Yes. We get out. A short distance. :)

I would Love for AE to get Reprinted I am running a game with 4 players and one book...

I found 1 book online for 45 bucks but it wont ship to Canada BOOOOurns

Would love to see a reprint.

Count me in too. I would jump at the chance to buy a reprint of Arcana Evolved. I've got a copy of Ptolus, and it's feeling lonely... :(

(Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

I already own the book myself, and while I'm not as big a fan as some on these boards I think it was a very good varient game system of 3.x What I find odd however, is that as I understand it he wanted the game to be a viable alternative to the Players Handbook should 4ed not be open.

Well no one can predict the future, and he was under the assumption that the core system would at its core still be like 3rd, but without the OGL. But in any case I'm surprised that as a Alternative Players Handbook he didn't keep it in print. Especially since both AE and Iron Heros do have a very large following. I attended a IH game that lasted well over a year before the GM had to go to Iraq.

AS for Paizo printing the game again. It would only help to reafirm Paizo's place as a leader in the industry. My only concern would be the investment factor vs. returns.

I own the book currently, but when we wrap up the Ptolus game I'd like to run a AE one....so getting more for the other folks would be good if you could get a reprint.

Agreed!

I'm a senior patron over there. I'm really looking forward to the Jade Oath (Only because my nick is in the title... I'm extremely shallow)

as Long as I can get copies in print form I'm good. PDF's do me no good.

Dunno what their plan is, but I find every writing project I've worked on recently that offered PDF also offered print or print on demand. I'm a print guy, myself, though the extra functions of some PDFs are pretty amazing. I guess I like having both.

Good. I ordered three things from lulu from them.

I'm really old school paper guy. I really dont have time for PDF's and reading online or onscreen. I'm sure they have their value, but just not to me.

My PFRPG game uses Arcana Evolved heavily, so the core book sees a lot of use. It's still going strong, thanks to the excellent binding. However, I would certainly buy a new edition if it incorporated all the errata.

As a new senior patron for their latest project, I need it BAD BAD BAD!!! I could download in in PDF, but I really need a hard copy and I need it yesterday! LOL!

-g-

A re-print of Arcana Evolved (including all the latest errata) would be awesome. I finished a 3 year long AE campaign a few months ago that took players from level 1 to level 25 and it was one of the best games I ever had the chance to be involved in. I'll definitely run games again, and having more books for new players would be very helpful :-)

I would love an updated copy for myself & We have only 2 books for 6 players in my group!

I agree that a reprint would be superb. I just decided to start running an AE campaign again and imagine my surprise when a player informed me that the books cost $80 now!

Paizo, you would be able to easily market and sell this book. There is an existing audience of fans, and also a lot of people who want to try it, but not for such a high price. I feel that it would be a sound financial choice.

It seems totally appropriate to have a reprint of Arcana Evolved. One of the best OGL games out there, if you ask me.

Cheliax (Paizo Charter Superscriber, Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber)

Add my name to the list of people who want a print copy (or 3) of Arcana Evolved (and its companion books).

It would indeed be most cool.

(Pathfinder Charter Superscriber; Pathfinder Battles Case Subscriber)

I know that 2 of my regular players would love to get their hands on the physical copy of AE.

There are several copies of AE on EBAY right now bundled with the spell Treasury. I know that we would all rather have new errata free copies but thought i would point that out to anyone else looking for a physical copy.

P.S. When AE evolved gets reprinted I am buying 4 copies.
