Are there any good companies currently making quality adventures for 3.5? By good I mean, companies that don't take forever to complete and ship product and the quality of the adventure is professional (good art, writing and not many typos). Also, I would like for their stuff to be available in print. I'm old school and I like to read things on paper.

I think I'm going to get into DMing for my group and I need something to run but not from Paizo, our groups other DM uses their stuff.

I think Goodman is re-releasing their line of Dungeon Crawl Classics, which were previously d20 license products, under a new brand. Take a look here.

Edit: Maybe the re-branding I was thinking of was Green Ronin, but it appears Goodman still has product available, though I don't know what license (if any) they are using.

If it hadn't been for your second paragraph, I was going to respond, "Yes, right here." 8^)

HOWEVER...

WotC actually has a lot of free 3E/3.5 material on their website. You have to kind-of go digging through their archives to find it, but they do have LOTS of adventures there. (Not to mention tons of other material.)

The fact that they've left it up since the release of their new game system -- not to mention the PDF fiasco -- I actually consider a point in their favor.

EDIT: Okay, you're looking for print stuff, and this is online. Missed that at first. It's still good stuff, and doesn't take TOO much paper and ink to print. 8^)

Castle Whiterock. It's a big boxed set campaign & adventure path going from 1st to 15th level and high quality. Well worth the money.

Castle Whiterock is very good. I also like Crypt of the Devil Lich. It's a tournament module and if you score your players by the tournament rules as you go along, they can compare their dungeon expertise to the winners. It's fun. They have several tournament modules available.

Vault of the Iron Overlord has a rotating dungeon that is fun.

Bloody Jack's Gold is a treasure hunt kind of dungeon.

The Sinister Secret of Whiterock can be a lead-in for the Castle Whiterock campaign, though neither is necessary to play the other. I really enjoyed DMing that on a night I didn't have anything prepared. It is very short, easy to DM and only $2. It was also a lot of fun for me and my players for a one night adventure.

But there are many other good ones. Goodman Games did a great job on all of these.

Also check the Goodman Games website for web enhancements. They have maps, player handouts, premade characters and more.

We have the ones they've rereleased so far here, along with a few that we still have print copies of.

On the bright side, my FLGS still has a good range of printed product (I won't say exactly where, because I'm not sure if they're supposed to still be selling D20 stuff). So you might be able to find them if you look around.

...although I would also strongly suggest that you check out Dungeon a Day! It'a bit different in presentation, but amazing in ways that are at once both Old School and High Tech.

Best part is that as a DM, I get to feel like a player by "exploring" the dungeon with each new installment. Seriously, go take a peek...

There is a veritable TROVE of fresh v.3.5 games available through PAIZO. If your haven't considered picking up Pathfinder Chronicles and Modules, please do - the're full of v.3.5 goodness.

Also, and this might sound unusual, but if you havent explored other publishers like Necromancer games before, you might check out Tome of Horrors 1-3. You might locate some new copies of Monte's Collected Book of Experimental Might, compatible with v.3.5.

Also, Dingles games offers a new generator, so does overlord.

I'll stop back with some more specific companies for you, but I would expect v.3.5 to continue uninterruped, because the open game movement is just getting started.

I'm biased because I'm one of the writers on the team (along with Tim Hitchcock -- who just did Legacy of Fire #2 and before that Carnival of Tears -- Rone Barton, Daigle and others), but I think 0onegames Urban Adventures line is pretty rocking. Has a campaign setting too. Print copies all available from Lulu.

0one Games Urban Adventures = Good stuff.

I would highly recommend "Ptolus" by Malhavoc Press, which is Monte Cook's gaming company. It's a bit pricy, but totally worth it. Malhavoc has also released the Iron Heroes line, which is an OGL system with its own classes and spells. "World's Largest Dungeon" also comes recommended. I don't own it, but other players have had a blast within its massive confines. Privateer Press has produced their Iron Kingdom's line, which is a OGL 3.5-based steampunk genre. If you like Eberron or China Mieville novels, you'll probably like Iron Kingdoms.

I also recommend Goodman Games products. My favorite adventures have been "Transmuter's Last Touch" and "Sinister Secret of Castle Whiterock". The Kingdoms of Kalamar setting from Kennar is also very good and has a Forgotten Realms appeal to it. It is 3.0, however and a bit difficult to find in print.

They do have some of their stuff up on lulu. They don't have a ton up but they have been adding to it slowly.

Which is a shame because nothing beats the tactile feeling of actually owning the book. If I can't find adventures in print then I suppose maybe I'll convert to the dark side.

But I'm really looking forward to reading (on paper!) Castle Whiterock.

Wolfgang mentioned it, but I'll toss it out there again-- there's Open Design.

They have Kobold Quarterly, which is, admittedly, an OGL and 4E magazine, but printed quarterly on that ever so tactile paper. Content has been about 50% OGL, 25% 4E, 25% edition neutral...100% awesome.

They have Halls of the Mountain King, and if you were a patron of that, I *think* you could still get Tales of Zobeck. Their print work is done through Lulu, and I've been happy thus far. There is also a Zobeck Gazetteer, which as a nice helping of steampunk with your OGL, and a recent Monster Ecologies-- but I'd warn you that a smattering of 4E can be found in the latter.

I'll second Dungeon-a-day, though it isn't print.

There is enough printed material out there at various online stores and some ebay stores as well as Amazon.com that you could continue to play fresh 3.5 modules and campaigns for a very long time.

Goodman Games has a 3.5 adventure finder sorted by level here. Those alone could provide years of adventure. and can be found at the Paizo store and stores all over the internet.

Noble Knight has a huge selection.

Troll and Toad on ebay has a nice selection and has very fast shipping.

But there are many, many others.

That is for the PDF, but signing on to the project as a patron also includes the (still in layout) Gazetteer--which has magic, items, prestige classes, feats, culture aspects. What you'd expect from a gazetteer. The print copy is yet unavailable for the adventure because we're in the errata phase for the adventure. I'd guesstimate about 2 weeks before we'll be able to order the print from lulu. Print costs have, historically, been pretty reasonable for Open Design projects-- if I recall correctly, Wolfgang generously offers them at cost.

The adventure itself (I have it up in another window) is 175 pages of awesomeness that goes from level 8 to 12. It is the largest Open Design project thus far, beating out Empire of the Ghouls by 15 pages. The 17(!) maps include many isometrics, and the 27(!) original illustrations are gorgeous. If you don't know who Sean Macdonald, Malcolm McClinton, Jonathan Roberts or Hugo Solis is, let me suggest that you're going to hear their names a lot more often. I plan on writing up a full review later, but really, at 30$, this is a deal even if you missed out on the very educational (and fun) development process that had been going on since January.

Am I biased as one of the authors? Undoubtedly unabashedly so. But Halls is a labor of love, and it shows.

Is becoming a patron the ONLY way to get the option for a print version? I'd be willing to pay more than cost for a print version, but I have historically not had the time to dedicate to Open Design patronage, so I simply haven't. I don't want to pay $30 just to get the option to pay another X amount for the print version is what I'm saying.

Maybe I just need to befriend a patron and pay them the print cost +s/h. Theoretically speaking of course ;-)

What Terraleon said, and let me emphasize that the Gazetteer adds another ~70 pages to that.

I was estimating the print price today, and it's going to be under $15 in softcover. We'll know for sure in a week or two.
