Austin's gonna be a madhouse if Houston evacuates. I'll try to find a smaller place... we ended up in Lockhart for Rita.

screw that. I'll stick around. besides... I have to stick around... part of it with the Postal Service being categorized as "essential personnel". Bastards.. first they take my saturday away from me.. then tell me I can't run from the storm like the rest of them.. :P
I'm down in the Meyerland area and would be interested in a Pathfinder game, or whatever else really. My apologies for not picking up this thread earlier!
I'm currently running a PBEM Eberron campaign and we are transitioning to the Pathfinder rules which everyone seems to like.
Stuck around with Gustav, we're not in an evacuation/storm surge zone so I figure a tree through the roof is the worst (with a Cat 3 or 4)and I can always cut my way out afterwards... maybe... unless the zombies show up... although now it looks like it will most likely just be rain Tuesday or Wednesday and little wind.

Godu, we've got a dynamic cast of characters and 3 people competent to DM, so hopefully we can create a campaign fluid enough to accommodate people who are sometimes able to make it and sometimes not (unless we end up going strictly AP, although that wouldn't be my preference). Under those circumstances, an extra person might be accommodated... but space in our host's place is limited, and scheduling is sometimes problematic. I'd recommend emailing Derek at the address up-thread; he screens potential candidates by phone, and I trust his judgment in that matter completely.
yeah, i don't know if i'd be interested in a strictly AP game either, i think i'd rather cherry pick ideas and write my own campaign, actually. and, yeah, that would be better, i think, if we wind up having to "revolving door" things due to prior commitments and the strange things that come up in life.
i am so looking forward to this...

Spent today working on converting a 007 adventure I wrote to Pathfinder rules. If your taste runs to international espionage and robbing museums between the standard D&D fare, this one will fit in nicely between APs.

grr... I wanna play today.. Sunday... but it's next week... hope your girlfriend is feeling better man. I at least got myself a new toy to tide myself over.. lol.
bought a rc helicopter... but I think I need alot more room than I have over at these apartments... need a gymnasium with no wind to practice in. I about have all the trim settings perfected.. ^^
was bored, so set about posting. Looking forward to next week. If there is a posting with the campaign done in it like some of those are here, let me know.. :D
In fact.. I may just bring an mp3 device and set about recording the sessions. I can listen to the session later in its entirety at my leisure during work during the week... or could make transcripts too. The story, not all the rolling of dice.. haha.. :)

Gentlemen,
Looks like the center of Ike will miss us, but we'll all be well within the area tropical-force winds. Let's keep in touch re: Sunday, esp. if there are widespread power outages (what? no cold beer? how are we supposed to play!)

well, we could convene at the icehouse across the street, take advantageof the natural daylight and, well, they're an icehouse, if they can't keep the beer cold, who can? ;)
we may need to buy some thumbtacks, though...

Didn't post the first time I crossed the thread, but I figured I might as well. I'm slated to report to Ft. Hood next June, and I have a friend or two in the Austin area. Not sure what Jon has been up to gamewise, especially with a new baby girl, but I'll be sure to check with you guys first about a gaming group. Hope you guys come through Ike safely.

Seems like the fates are conspiring to keep us from ever getting that game started.

my e-mail is upthread, so letme know when you're ready to drop in, i'll have a cold one ready for you.
oh, and all the chicks in harker heights are a TRAP! (just sayin') :)
I apologize for not reading this post earlier. Ike is trying to kill the power so I need to hurry. I live near Shepherd & Richmond and host a Saturday Game from noon to about 6 pm. I have two players in my group each playing two PC's. I DM because I am basically centralized and have most of the 3.5 reference material. We had begun Expedition to Undermountain in Magnimar. When I got the softcover version of the Beta we made up new PC's with the new rules. If anyone is interested you may contact me at silverhair2008 at hotmail dot com.

Damn, bro, that sucks a lot -- but it's way better than most other places I've been (was out 8-10 days after Hurricane Gloria). I feel like Centerpoint is doing a really good job, all things considered.
I too just got power back today. Actually about 3 pm, when we had heard it was going to be Monday the 22nd before they would get to us. I am glad to be alive and well after that pounding we took. The people from Galveston are not being allowed back on the island yet. In fact, the powers that be are trying to get the remaining residents off the island. There is no water, gas, sewer, food, medical attention available.
Thank you all for your prayers and good wishes. I think the toll is around 15 +/- for Texas from Hurricane Ike. Somebody was listening.
BTW Houstonderek, I am actually at the other end of McDuffie at Richmond. I'm in the apartments on the corner of Richmond and Hazard.

My roof is fine. I actually moved from a house to an apartment just last month. So... all I did today after work was... CLEAN... gah... happy to have my power back... tomorrow.. I'll probably just play games... maybe not.. my son has been wanting to play video games all week long... so... he comes first. :P
I need to ask Derek if he got power yet.. maybe we can play this weekend? that would be great for me if he can.

He's got power, but no internet, apparently. I aim to call him today -- hope we're on for Sunday.
Evidently I am the only that's been viewing this thread since about 9am Friday morning the 19th. Is everyone else playing a game somewhere? Why wasn't I invited? (Stinks out lower lip in a pout)

I should really see about getting my friend Jon to contact you guys. I know he's been busy with his new baby girl, but I don't know if his previous group is still going.

we need to meet at the icehouse for a beer then :)
my internet finally came back tonight some time, so i wasn't able to post from anywhere but work, and we were too busy for me to be on for more than a few minutes. BUT, now that we're getting back to normalcy here, i am open again to adding people to our group of revolving Pathfinder players (i'm thinking about running a shadowrun 4e game as well, if anyone is interested).
We may meet, but I don't drink beer. I never quite acquired the taste. How about James Coney Island or Whataburger on Shepherd? I would like to talk to you about a couple of things adn not on the boards. Give me an email and I will send you my number.
I'm one of the guys who plays with ol Silverhair at his Montrose apartment. My schedule on the weekends is extremely flexible. I'm all for playing on Sundays if it would make it possible to get you in. I've been DM'ing for about 9 years and playing since 1993. However, as Silverhair stated he's the DM because 1) it's his place, 2) he's got more books than me (printed hehe). So give us a shout. We both have the Beta books for the Pathfinder system - he's got a ton of stuff though which makes for a good read.
As he said - there's 2 of us playing two characters each and we've revised our current characters to match that of Pathfinder's character creation system. I'm using a dorf cleric (typical, eh??) and a half-orc sorcerer (who just happens to have a dwarven beard lol). I'm still fleshing them out but I gotta admit - a half-orc with a charisma of 17 or 18...just think on that.

Ok that's enough blubbering from the dorf.
Corvanus OUT!
i work until 6pm on saturdays, so i guess i'll have to wait and see how your other player's schedule works out.
Check into the Yahoogroup CLAG_Houston. It's the Clear Lake Area Gamers, but it's open to anyone near Houston (I'm in Victoria myself, so it's a wide berth). It's mostly for WotC's living campaigns, but that's a great way to meet gamers in your area.
Right now i'm focused on trying to drum up interest in OwlCon, as I put in an application for a Pathfinder Society event. Also, as one of my players should be back from his China vacation, we'll be resuming our (full) RotRL game.
But, if any of the Clearlake guys want to pursue an entry at my table, all they have to do is post here, want to play 3.5/PFRPG, and pass my "social acceptability" test.

Most of the people that run Owlcon (or at least the LG/LFR portions) are members of the CLAG group. If you're really trying to drum up interest, you could probably get a full room instead of just a table by posting.
Personally, I'd love to play PS. I've mentioned it on those boards before and there seems to be a pretty large interest in it.

You're right about the con, i was refering more to my home table :)
I'm in e-mail contact with Greg Morrow right now, and he seems quite excited about my request, so maybe i can get him to help me drum up some interest.
Hi I heard you were running a game...which game? I am looking for a possible rp group to join periodically.
Hi AngelRaven!
We're running a casual beta playtest kinda game right now, but I also am interested in getting a Shadowrun game going. My girlfriend is a WoD fan (clan torreador, specifically) so that is an option as well, although I have zero experience running it, and little playing experience, i'm afraid.
I live in the Montrose area, and usually host (we play on Sundays), but my gf and I (and one other friend of mine, possibly) are open to playing another night as well.
Also, I'm (hopefully) going to have a few slots at OwlCon in February, if you're interested in Pathfinder Society gaming. If that goes well, I am going to get with the guys at Midnight Comics and see about running a game there one night a week as well.
My e-mail is hatheg at hotmail dot com. We should hook up over a coffee one night and talk gaming and see if we can get something going :)
Kirth Gersen(Pathfinder Adventure Path Charter Subscriber; Modules Subscriber)
I've been DMing Derek's Sunday group, and could potentially do shorter sessions on a weeknight as well (say, 6 pm - 8:30 pm), if there was sufficient interest. In fact, we were talking Sunday about getting more than one game going, if the number of players increases (we've got 6 and counting now, which I think makes Derek's apartment the largest gaming venue in Houston, population-wise, outside of Rice University!).
Personally, I prefer smaller groups (1-3 players), with emphasis on world- and character-building rather than on dungeon crawling.
