Don't feel too bad. I live in an isolated community of 100 people. The nearst gamers to me are 300km away! Good luck bud.

I would be willing to make the drive from MacDill once or twice a month, depending on schedule. What are you thinking?
Not thinking much right now, just putting out feelers. It'll be a while before I can nail down my schedule anyway but I wanted to start asking early.
I just looked up Macdill and I'm getting the feeling any gaming is gonna be north of the Skyway Bridge. Dang.
If I get something nebulous down here, though, I'll certainly get in touch and see what your schedule is and how much you're able/willing to come down to Bradenton.
Thanks!

In another few weeks or so my schedule will be stable enough to add D&D to the mix. So I figured I'd post.
Is there anybody out there? . . . .

I live in Bradenton and I'd love to join a Pathfinder game. I still need to buy the core rulebook. Did you find your core rulebook in Bradenton? I don't want to order it online and have to wait a month for it.

WoooHooo!
I was beginning to think I would have to form a group, which, considering my schedule, wasn't likely to happen.
Are you in any game now? If not we may have to recruit.
My work hours are pretty tight (67-69 hours at IMG) but I think Saturdays may work out for me. Keep in touch; we'll try to figure out something.
Oh, are you East (by I75) or closer to the gulf (like me)?

Heh ... if I can ever find something there, I'll have to look you up. I've been trying to move to the Bradenton/Ellenton area for several years now. My folks live in Ellenton, and my wife and kids lived all of last year down there with them. The original plan was for me to follow once I found something at least comparable to what I do now. Unfortunately, that didn't happen, so everyone's back here in Detroit. Still looking, though, so hopefully one day we can meet up for a game!

Sure!
It'll give me a chance to mention, face to face, that my beloved Twins whooped you guys up to win the Division last night!
I live near the corner of Cortez Rd and 26th St W. I am not in any game now, and have only played a little 2nd edition D&D quite some years ago. But since then I have always wanted to play a good tabletop RPG, whether it be D&D, or other. I also have a friend who says he is interested in trying out a game. I'm not sure how solid of a contract I have from him, but we'll see. I haven't played any Pathfinder but from what I have read it is the system I think I'd like to try.

Ouch! I'm still hurting from that game ...

I live near IMG and Florida State College (MCC). We can set up a time to meet somewhere for lunch or something -- talk some D&D. Do you know the Beef O'Brady's on 34th, just south of IMG & MCC?
I too live in Bradenton and am a gamer. I do not play D&D, but Darkside comics in downtown Sarasota (will take you about 10 mins to get there since there just a few blocks past the Hollywood 20 movie theatre), has a D&D night every week. I do their Saturday Magic tourney each week. Anyway, their website is: darksidecomics.com and here's the rest of their contact info.

Sarasota, FL 34236-7100

Hope this helps and good luck finding more local gamers.

LOL'
Shortly before I moved here I asked an LGS owner friend of mine who knows tons of gaming stores across the East Coast and he gave me the contact info for Darkside.
I just haven't gotten there yet. I feel really stuck to west Bradenton with my tight work schedule.

Hi, W. E. Ray, and other Bradentonian gamers! I live in B-town, and am currently running a PF campaign (the old A-series slavelords modules) for two other players. We meet monthly at my house, usually the last or first sunday, from about 1 pm til about 8 pm. If you are interested, we could discuss the possibility of your joining our game.
A bit about me: 36 yrs. old, married, have a 5-yr.-old daughter, 2 dogs, a bird, and several fish. Started gaming at age 9, 1st ed. AD&D, usually as DM. I work in the health care industry, enjoy creative pursuits of all sorts, and promise a fair, challenging game.
A bit about the other two players: one is an older (in his 40s), more experienced, old-school gamer (he's played everything I've played and then some . . . . has actually played through A-series before in 1st ed., so long ago he's conveniently forgotten most of it). The other is a younger (14?) but polite/mature player, still somewhat new to RPing, but a quick learner and an avid participant.
We are pretty focused in our gaming approach, and tend to get alot done in the 6-7 hr. sessions. (I tactfully "disinvited" three other players we had been gaming with who were less focused and tended to be more distracted/distracting, if that gives you some idea of the kind of group we are looking for.) Anyway, if this sounds like something you'd be interested in, let me know!

LOL! We probably live within a bowshot of each other, Bowtrik, so if you are interested in getting in on a game, and you are polite, mature, and not a deranged serial killer, we might have a chair for you (and your friend, if he meets the aforementioned prerequisites)!
I am, indeed, polite and mature. I have not yet been adjudicated deranged or convicted of serial murder, so hey, knock on wood.
I've been gaming pretty much my whole life (I'm about your age) and have played D&D almost exclusively. I recently came to Bradenton for a position at IMG and live close by.
Maybe take a look at some of my posts -- my avatar name has been "Molech" for a few years and about 1300 posts -- it'll give you a little about my gaming opinions, at least.
I am an old-school adventure lover so I am familiar with the old A series; I do have all 4 but, honestly, I can only remember 1 thing about Markessa off the top of my head. It's been a while since I've read them and years since I've DMed them.
I'd like to meet you for a chit-chat, maybe over lunch or something, on a Saturday or Sunday. Do you know the Beef O' Bradys or the South Philly on 34th street, just south of 53rd?

Yes, I know the area well. My parents live near IMG, off El Conquistador. Beef O' Bradys for lunch sounds good. Would you like to get together this coming saturday, like around noon?
Contact info for Darkside Comics in Sarasota was given a few posts ago in the Thread, just scross up a bit.
And if you get a chance to go, post here and let me know how good an LGS it is. Supposedly it's only 15 minutes away from me but I've never even been to Sarasota (Heck, I don't know that I've even been in the Bradenton city limits yet).
I live in ruskin which is about twenty minutes to the north of Bradenton. There are a couple game stores to the north of here.... in Brandon there is Comics Club on Lumsden and then in Seminole there is Emerald City. Something about going into a new game store makes me giddy so I'm always on the look out for a new one....especially one that may have out of print or used items.
sorry to interupt but do any of you know of a good gaming store in the Bradenton or Sarasota area?
Darkside, and also in Sarasota, POP comics & games. POP is further south on same road (it becomes Tamiami Trail S). I usually just go to Books A-Million at Cortez Rd./41 to get D&D stuff, but the selection is limited, of course.
In another few weeks or so my schedule will be stable enough to add D&D to the mix. So I figured I'd post.

I know this is an older thread, but I would like to see if there are still openings at anyone's table. I am mature (most of the time) and have been playing RPGs since dinosaurs roamed the Earth.
I currently live in South Manatee / Bradenton off of SR70.
I am familiar with d20, but do not have any Pathfinder stuff. I am willing to get what is needed. Please let me know.
Actually, there may be now, if you are willing to make the trek to St. Pete. Were off the 38th Ave exit over by 4th street north. If you do not mind making the trek, you can join at our table. BTW we are starting a new Pathfinder game, rules will be mostly stock unless all sides agree to changes, with a semi-homebrew campaign in the stock world. If anyone is interested just reply and i'll forward you some more info..

Sounds good, but unfortunately you guys are too far north for me - I'm down Naples way, close to the Everglades. Good luck with it.
