I'm just curious to see if anyone is from Michigan.

Well, I'd term it more the "OK in the summer and fall" state of Michigan, but yeah, I'm in Clinton Township ...

Much agreement here.

I am currently in Highland.

Grew up in Sterling Heights.

Have also lived in Clinton Township, Harper Woods, and Hartland.

I'm from the lovely city of Holland, home of the Tulip Time Festival. If you have nothing better to do next April, come on over. Look at a windmill. Look at the tulips. Look at people dressed in Dutch period costumes. Look at me march in the last of these parades I'll ever have to do again. Just don't dress like a pirate. We've had bad experiences with pirates.

I grew up in Greenville and graduated from U of M, but have been an exile for economic and romantic reasons for some time now. I make it back periodically and would like to live there again, but it seems less likely with each passing year.

Aye. Midland.

I just realized I never posted where I was from in the "3 season state" (Summer, Winter and Construction).

My Wife and I currently live in Grandville!

(Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion, Battles Case Subscriber)

born and bred Michigan dirtfarmer. lived in the following cities: Union Pier, Three Oaks, Galien, Buchanan, Edwardsburg, Niles.

currently live in Albuqueque, NM (for last 12 years). only moved due to no job opportunities back home. scary, but i MISS the snow and winters from back home more than anything. you can keep the summers tho- it may be a dry heat here, but it actually makes a difference :)

Born in Muskegon, live in Grand Rapids. My wife is from Iron Mountain. My best friends also live here in GR with us.

In Grand haven. Play outside Rockford.

Warren. Looking for Pathfinder Society games too. I played 1 & 2 at Gen Con and want to try to find a table to play 3 before I run it for my gaming group.

My wife and I live in Byron Center, just south of Grand Rapids. We moved here two years ago from the East Bay area in California. It's nice to live where you can actually buy a house!

I live in Port Huron, but work in Dearborn.

*Raise Thread!*

I live in Marquette and am looking to run a Pathfinder in Ptolus game. *Wink-wink, nudge-nudge.*

Pathfinder? Ptolus? Two of my favorite words! Unfortunately being near detroit doesn't make this dream possible. :(

Yeah, same here. You know it would be closer to go to a game in Kentucky or New York than in Marquette! :( (I met my wife at Michigan Tech, and she's from Calumet, so we do go back every other year or so ...)

I would be remiss if I failed to mention this thread. I'm new to the group, but from what I can tell we have about a half-dozen GMs and 3-4 times as many players. :)

Well, I highly recommend pbp as a good way to get your fix while you're working on that. :)

Have you tried connecting with other players at Fun 4 All? They do tend to be more about the comics, but it's worth a shot. There's also a small game store in Ann Arbor, called Get Your Game On. It's on Packard just off State. Parking's a b*$!$, but there's almost always people hanging around.
Hope that helps. Good luck getting a group together.

yep; I am from Detroit; a great place to be from; hehe; hear living there nowadays is pretty bad. Lots of my family still lives in MI; Dad is in Lansing and lots of relatives up in the UP.

Born and raised in Tawas City myself. Lived in East Lansing and Haslett for ten years (MSU grad). Lived in the Detroit area for another ten (Troy, Sterling Heights, Southfield, and Detroit proper). Somehow, now, I've ended up in Texas, for job reasons. Might sound crazy, but dang I miss Michigan sometimes. Like June-August (56 days in a row with 100+ degree temps gets old).

What a long strange trip its been....

Head to RIW in Livonia this Sunday. They are running scenarios #29 and #30, starting at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Almost every 2 weeks Uncleden (Dennis) holds a game day at RIW bringing in around 10-20 players.

If you're looking for a reoccuring home game, I'll be starting one soon in Howell.

And then in November there's U-Con at the U of M Union. Link. Lots of Pathfinder being offered there.

I miss how green Michigan is and the cool festivals and things to do; Tigers games; Red Wings games; and other family and friend stuff. hehe I actually miss snow; but not that much; dont miss rust.

Cheliax (Pathfinder Adventure Path Subscriber)

I'm from Highland, usually go to HeroQuest. I think I've met most of the people who have posted in this forum IRL.

Hm! I'm surprised, I'd thought I'd replied to this thread!

I hale from Michigan, but like many others here, I fled in the past year and a half due to the economic crisis - mine spurred by a pesonal crisis of a being laid off nature. :) I'm now in Texas, and working is wonderful. My parents are still in Michigan, and are suffering as both lost their jobs as well, and my mom, a registered nurse, has a hard time getting 40 hours a week! I'm trying to convince them to move to Houston too, but it's hard - they've lived in Michigan their entire lives, and all three remaining grandparents are still there too.

::sigh::

Oh!

::waves at Andrew:: Hey there!

Wow...this thread got ressurected!!!

Maybe I should work on getting all of you invited to my medieval wedding??

Hey! Most of my relatives still live over there! :P

On a more serious note, now that I'm at college I live over in Flint. Just thought you might want to know.

Great school; I know a few coworkers who went there. Any idea yet what your major will be?

Bryan wrote:

Biochemistry. Now, getting a co-op job, that's going to be the tricky part...

Even better! I'm a chemical engineer (at least my degree says so). Just stay away from the auto industry, at the moment ...

I hail from Gratiot County in Mid-Michigan. I've lived many places about the state. Went to University at Michigan Tech for a good 6 years. Most beautiful place on earth next to New Zealand, I swear! Still game once a week. Used to game twice a week, but my Monday night game broke up to do to a good many of my gaming members in that group becoming unemployed and heading back to school after 30... I am just thankful to be employed and still have one regular gaming night each week. If you wanna see what I do IRL, check out our webpage at My Job

Cool! Another Huskie! If you don't mind my asking, what years did you attend?

Cheliax (Pathfinder Roleplaying Game, Adventure Path, Campaign Setting, Companion Subscriber)

Another bump for the great state of Michigan where our unemployment rate is a full 2% higher than any other state! You know what that means? We have 2% more of our population able to stay home all day and play Pathfinder! What a great state indeed!

Former Yooper here. I grew up in Gladstone, and graduated from Northern Michigan University. Alas, now I'm in San Diego, and wish I could afford to move back.

Looks like we just missed gaming together ... I was there from '92 to '96. Love the UP in the summer (we usually still go back to visit my wife's family in July), but the winters ended up destroying any tolerance I had for snow and cold at all. The 320+" of snow my senior year was just too much. And the Winter Carnival week in '95, where temps were -20F with -70F wind chills ... ugh!

Necro-post.

I live in Jenison, near Grand Rapids. I spent a lot of my leisure time growing up in Escanaba in the U.P. outdoors hiking and canoeing and getting dirty, but a generous amount of the rest of my childhood enjoying RPGs with friends.

Today I play/DM Pathfinder RPG and D&D 4E.

Woot! Finally, I'm not alone in my insanity. I'm also in San Diego and wish I could move back to MI. However, my wife, who is a native Californian, is...less than receptive to the idea.
