Note: Talk about 4th Edition here. Politely. Personal attacks or insults directed at other members of the Paizo community, or other companies in the industry, will not be tolerated.
There are plenty of threads for you to complain about 4th edition. I have seen many where that is true. It is nice to have one where people seem pleased with what is coming along.
I find that I am liking the changes. I know all do not agree with me on this point but I am also pleased with no gnomes. In all the years I have been playing I believe that only one or two gnomes where ever played and I can only think of one. I agree with their rational about gnomes.
Actually, they're implying this WILL be the case, with the "e-book" versions.
Speaking of E-books, does anyone own (or know someone who owns) one of those Kindle things that Amazon was advertising. I'm curious to know if those things are any good.

There's nothing stopping pro-4E supporters from starting more threads. Find some aspect of 4E that you like and start a thread to discuss it. In just about every anti-4E thread, a pro-4Eer comes on and "discusses" how we are "wrong" for "prejudging something we don't know about about to make a proper judgement call." They always say they want to "discuss" it with us. All I am doing is bringing discussion to your camp.
Really, there are plenty of threads hoping to urge Paizo go not go 4E. Why not start a thread that doesn't praise 4E, but instead discusses how this one aspect would be "awesome" to have in Paizo's campaign setting. They are writting a campaign setting. This is their boards. They read their boards. Don't complain about there not being any pro-4E threads if you don't start them. How many have I started? I'm just 1 guy. If you love 4E so much, stand up and discuss it. Don't just list what you love about 4E, discuss it. The "what" is nothing without the "why".
(In case you haven't noticed, I'm all about fair play. I point things out to the DM that don't work in my favor because I always try to be fair.)

Yay! More two wrongs make a right. You sure have taught all the pro-4ers a thread. Now that I understand how this game works, I'll make sure to post in every anti-4e thread, just for you! Wait, why stop there, maybe I should post on everything you ever post just to disagree with you.
You've gotten your attention like you wanted, now go away troll.

1) Lisa asked to keep the posts civil. I'm going to ask you to take that last bit back. There was no personal attack in my thread, but yours has a personal attack in it. Lets keep the posts civil.
2) I am encouraging pro-4Eers to start more threads. I'll be honest about my motives. If the pro-4Eers have more pro-4E threads, then maybe you guys will leave us anti-4Eers alone in our own threads. But if you're not willing to start but a single thread, I can't help you.

Better idea: quit trolling.

Ah, so you think by coming here and throwing a stink fit and attacking people, you will cause others to stop attacking you in the anti-4e thread. Interesting logic...
Edit: Don't bother posting back. Continue being a troll, I'm going back to ignoring you.

So you want a pro 4E zone where no anti 4E folk post and an anti 4E zone where pro 4E folk cannot post.

Are you saying you can dish it out but can't take it?
I'm all for creating dialogue, provided that it is civil. Try putting a YMMV or a IMHO in your posts from time to time. I make it clear in many of my posts that it is my opinion and only my opinion that I am expressing. Your posts, from those I have read, sound like you are the D&D God. You have your opinions. Fine, good. Express that they are your opinions.

I will try but I tend to be brief in my posts - well, as brief as I can be. I tend to write in a matter of fact style. I can see why some would take it the wrong way IMHO :-)

Good things about R&C? I gave mine to a friend to read, so let's see what I remember.
I like the take on halflings. The entire section on halflings made me want to run a halfling clan campaign. Tight-knit nomadic river travelers that aren't the size of 3 year olds. Nice.
Dragonborn and tieflings fought a huge war in the past. Now that would make a stupendous campaign. While I'm not crazy about some of the look of these races (tieflings' horns and tails are way too big and female dragonborn have boobies; the former looks stupid and the latter makes no sense), WotC shows you can include strange PC races if you back them up with a good back story.
The art is incredible. Leagues ahead of anything WotC's put out and more in line with Paizo's awesome art.
The trap news is good. Anyone can find traps, rogues are just better at it. Trapfinding is passive instead of active (thank you God).
Skill news is great, too. Finally, the 'salt and pepper' skills are combined. Every d20 game but D&D corrected this mistake long ago.
And, of course, the removal of that albatross in the mechanics of 3E, alignment. At least, removal from the mechanics. You can still call yourself good (or evil or whatever) if you truly believe and uphold the virtues of goodness (or evil or whatever), otherwise you're unaligned. Hip hip hooray!
There's more, but that's what's foremost on my mind. I went from unsure before reading to somewhere between cautiously optimistic and really looking forward to it afterwards.

Maybe somebody at WOTC likes the platypus. The following information came from Wikipedia:
When the Platypus was first discovered scientists were divided over whether the female laid eggs. This was not confirmed until 1884 when W.H. Caldwell was sent to Australia where, after extensive searching assisted by a team of 150 aborigines, he managed to discover a few eggs.
The newly hatched young are vulnerable, blind, and hairless, and are fed by the mother's milk.

If dragons suckle their young, then the platypus theory makes sense. But I'm pretty sure they don't and from what I understand, Dragonborn are more like Draconians and not like Half-Dragons. But I'm not an artist or PR guy, what do I know?
One thing going for D&D4 is timing. With a lot of talk about economic recession, I remember the last big recession (late 80s) was a good time for PnP RPGs. WHFRP, GURPS, and AD&D2 all came out around that time.

From what I have been reading, WOTC got teased a lot for there artistic expression of what female dragonborn should look like. Apparently many people feel that if they lay eggs (which makes sense) then why give them certain mammal traits.
I'm thinking that they wanted to make the female dragonborn more visually appealing to players and really didn't give the idea of eggs vs. mammary glands and real thought. Nobody has been questioning the male dragonborn at this point thought, I think that is scheduled to happen next week.

Next week on Maury Povich: Our guests will include a number of dragonborn, both males and females, who are on both sides of the Dragonborn Breast debate.
(voice of a male dragonborn): Once you've had a girl with boobs, there's no turning back. Any drago-gal who wants to hang out with me had better get herself a good rack!
(voice of a female dragonborn): I just couldn't stand the way that all the guys kept assuming I was male. All they wanted to talk about was Football! I found a great surgeon, and I think my new boobs look terrific!
(voice of a male dragonborn): Ain't no way I'm letting my sisters get "augmented." If some dragonborn dude wants a female with breasts, let him go paw over some human girl. If he were a real man, smooth scales and a nice frill would be good enough for him.
(voice of Maury): We'll also talk with some trans-gendered dragonborn, including several breasted males who have been accused of egg-theft; and we'll try to determine who the actual mothers of those eggs are!

Can't wait for tickets to gon on sale. I hope the line isn't to long. I suppose it costs extra for front row seats. So if we make it into the audience, what questions should we ask?

I think I'll throw a little 4E love in here, just because the 4E bashers tend to be a more vocal group, and I'd like to show Paizo that there are a bunch of us very interested.
From what I see, I don't like the way that WotC has been treating its customer base, and I'm not huge on all the flavor changes, but I consider the bulk of those to be optional anyway.
The crunch, on the other hand? I feel very good about nearly everything I've heard. From my perspective, anyway, the crunch is the game, and so I will probably like the game.
I personally hope that Paizo converts to 4E, because that's going to be my best shot at playing the new game. So, put me down for some Paizo 4dventure!
