They broke into my car and stole all my Role playing gear, everything I owned including all my Pathfinder stuff.
Talk about speechless, who would have thought someone would break in just to steal gaming books. They didn't even touch the money in the center console. Worst thing is now I have to tell my gaming group its going to be while before we can game again and find the money to replace everything.
Just goes to show how popular the pathfinder game is I guess :)
I know a few people who've had cars broken into and had bags stolen because they looked like they'd have a laptop inside of them. RPG books even have the heft most people expect from a laptop bag.
Did you put your name on the inside book covers? If you did check around some of the used book stores in the area to see if they've turned up.
Nope it was in a black plastic box. Had most of my 3.5 stuff in it as well, must have weighed about 75lbs.
I have let all the used book stores know to look. They do have my name in them so hopefully if they show up I will get a call.
Sucks, over $300 just to replace my pathfinder books. Most the 3.5 I don't need anymore but it was good for reference. The hard stuff to replace will be the limited print and out of print games I still like to run. Things like Jorune, not likely to be able to replace that one.
On the bright side, that frees up a bunch of shelf space for new stuff.
Good luck in hunting for them. I'd hate to think it might have been a geek thief, that'd be so disrespectful of not just you and your property but the spirit of gaming in general.
There is also the possibility they just tossed it when they found out what was in it. :(

Karma?
How about Curse of the Ages?
Man, that stinks. Every now and then when I leave my stuff in my truck, I think about "what if someone broke in and took my gaming stuff?" how would I feel. Well, I'm sure you're feeling it now. Sorry to hear.

I'm sorry to hear about this. I don't know what Jorune books you're looking to replace... or, indeed, if Jorune is so high on your list if you have to replace $300 worth of Pathfinder books. But if it helps, you can get a bunch of Jorune books at The Noble Knight. I see five such books here, including Skyrealms of Jorune, 3rd Edition, for $17.95.

I had my fencing stuff stolen from the trunk of my car. I called the insurance company for a claim and after some (un)necessary forms I got a check for 60% of what everything was worth. Expect to provide receipts and/or photocopies of product catalogs of everything you lost.
Good luck, and remember they're books, they can be replaced. I lost a lot of unique and irreplacable gear that day but I look at my new kit with just the same sentimentality.
Dude, I feel your pain. When I was moving back to Houston from Dallas, a crackhead grabbed a box out of the back of my pickup truck when I was paying for gas. He got away with my complete Shadowrun 1e and to that time 2e collection, my Thieves Guild "Haven" boxed set, my Judge's Guild stuff (including Caverns of Thracia and Modron, my all time favorite JG books), all of my Traveller digest books, and my Paranoia, Twilight:2000 and Call of Cthulhu stuff.
Same thing happened to me - they were in a backpack, but this was in the days when laptops and laptop backpacks weren't so common and well-known. I didn't loose much except my character sheet and about 6 books, but it was galling all the same.
And the whole rear window on my hatchback had to get replaced. Insurance, insurance...
You guys all have my sympathy and deepest regrets. This is one reason my books never leave the house unless under the guard of at least three gamers and a closed-trunk vehicle, and never leave them unsupervised. Ever.
@Xyemox: Best of luck with the insurance! You may not get it all but it'll at least be a start.

So sorry to hear about the theft. Good luck recovering and/or replacing.
I have heard that it is a very good idea, if you ever leave things in your car, to put them in the trunk. Apparently thieves are much more likely to try to break into a car if they can see things in the car through the windows.
Xyemox, please post a list of what you lost. I'm pretty sure the community would be more than willing to help out. Double check with your insurance company too - nothin' like a check that you didn't have to work for to replace what was lost.

Seconded.
With the list, maybe the paizonian thief will send back the stuff he already owned...
I am so very sorry you were robbed. As someone who had precious writings stolen along with half of his second ed stuff, I sympathize. Here's hoping you can replace most, if not all of it. May the thief find no joy in his ill-gotten material.

BTW: I do have like 3 repeated modules, so if you want them they are yours.
I guess when it rains it pours, as I came out this morning to find my car window smashed and all my books taken as well.
What a world.
You've got to be kidding me?! Why are Pathfinder/RPG books being stolen so much lately? Do they go for that much on e-bay/amazon? Or is this another case of once being a coincidence?

Usually easy to resale, decent ROI for theft, and/or just pure fluffwitted greed.

We need to get to the bottom of this! Sounds like an investigation is in order. Let's form a party. I'll play the cleric.

Can I play the barbarian? :D Fear my +5 skillet of impact!
Sorry again dude. Luckily we've enough books and dice in our group to float you until you get your collection back in order. And like I said there's always christmas... Heh, I just realized that if I get you a replacement PFRPG Core book for christmas I will have purchased that book for everyone in our group.
