anything out there that would make this possible? i wanna set it in the raiders of the lost ark. any products i can morph to fit this genre
You could check Nobleknight.com or waynesbooks.com for the out of print "World of Indiana Jones RPG" that West End Games published for the Masterbook system. There several supplemental books for it as well. I have most of them.
For pulp adventure in general there is:
"Spirit of the Century" by Evil Hat
"Adventure!" by White Wolf
"Hollow Earth Expeditions" by Exile Games (make sure to get Secrets of the Surface World).
Huge fan of pulp settings myself. The pulp aspect was what sparked my interest in Eberron as a setting.
If you're looking for that 'style' then I cannot recommend Eberron enough! It's got a high fantasy feel while taking elements from Indiana Jones and other pulpish settings. Random but flavorful locales like the Lightning Rail and Stormreach give GMs ample opportunity to setup long term campaigns where players can move to and from drastically different locations.
And action points. I let my folks use action points for actions that could only be seen in a movie like swinging from a whip, dropping a chandelier with a shot, dodging bullets and the like.
Even if not Eberron, use action points.
I have not looked but d20 modern should be set up for this.
I'd also recommend Hollow World Expedition, another Game that could work is All Fleh must be eaten: Pulp Zombies.
Hollow World Expeditions also has a few sample Adventures available here
I saw "Hollow World Expedition" at GenCon 2008, it looked pretty cool. Very Indiana Jones/King Kong/Sky Captain themed. Our group as a whole(4 ppl) liked the look of it, but all agreed we liked our D&D(Pathfinder) more. :)
You could probably find the original Raiders of the lost ark module for the old Indiana Jones game. Then convert it to whatever system you want to run, Savage Worlds is perfectly suited to pulp games.
